I wanted to tell this since long. I don't know if this is how it is in whole of TN. But a few months back marriage happened in my family and to my surprise it was just 3 rounds and not Saat phere and my mom told me that's how it had been for them. I went on asking all elders they were like its 3 and not 7 what are u saying 7?

Shruthi, once again you have done wonders. Tilak will feel the guilt no matter what Renu consoles or Sudhir convinces. Even after meeting his daughter and her acceptance also, he will be filled with guilt because his wife had led a widow's life just to save his child from early death or say infanticide. His guilt will be more because due to him not just his wife even her family had to relocate for none of their fault and his daughter had to live without her mother and father despite him alive, he could not be their for her in her childhood and that is when a father's presence is very much required as he will be the one who will teach his daughter how to distinguish between good and bad man and other morals. Intentional or not, he was responsible for so much disaster for his loved ones (be it his wives or his brother or parents). May be his guilt will reduce though not subsided, once Suman gets remarried thinking that is the justice given to even his love.

Sudhir and Vindya were my favorite always and I knew for sure Vindya will feel bad on knowing Pooja as she very well knew Sudhir's choice of girl was never to be like Vindya who was not interested in Academics. And Sudhir could instantly point out what was bothering her and correcting her. Yes She was not his choice but she is his life since 10 years, she has walked with him on the path of patches of grass as well as thorn and without complaint. She was his silent support system who let him do his work with dedication without complaining about him not giving her much attention and not spending enough time with her and her child. She was the one who let him go away from home on business knowing very well that was a pretext he used to gather himself for the better of their life than consume in with guilt & wants. The distance has made them realize what they have and how they are made for each other and that was the decision taken by the God for their betterment. They were paired by the God himself to help themselves and others in their life. Only when the couple are pushed to situations like this and cornered, they will not open up with their better half and surrender themselves. If not for Pooja's entry like this in their life, Vindya would never have mustered the courage to express her grievance of not being ideal wife he was looking for and if not for this opening, it would have taken ages for Sudhir to tell his wife that he loves her with all her short comings and she was and is and will be his beloved wife and no one had taken or will take that place in his life and heart. This is something which we Indian couples on majority do that we don't express our views and feelings openly with our spouse for we take it for granted that if I love her / him, he/she should know that without me blurting it out often. We think if we are living harmoniously, that means we love each other, but at times it is necessary to tell it openly to please and convince yourself about your feelings for each other.

I don't think I need to write anything about Suman & Sree as it enough of what you have given here.

So does that mean tilak will never be free of guilt? Isn't there anything that could bring his cheerful self?

@sanju in south Indian customs even in Kerala it is 3 rounds. But the Vedic ritual says 7 rounds around fire and in almost all north Indian customs it is 7 rounds. Not that I have watched it in TV or movies I have my friend who have married a North Indian and their marriage was with 7 rounds around fire only. Story is placed in Rajasthan so I kept the custom as per there.

Yipee we got second prize 😆😆. All effort paid of. Nostalgia worked. Our theme in the floral carpet was a lady in IT industry looking at her computer and reminiscing the old days of Onam when it was not Hi-Tech.Left Outer circle of the carpet had lady with laptop and inner circle her memories of sweet onam with swing, trees, simple floral carpet in front of the house. Right outer circle represented how the celebration in office is giving us IT employees a walk down the memory lane with the onam celebrations.
