My life has been full of surprises. I haven't regretted for anything, not yet. When my mom exclaimed that I had been selected for the role of Ajabde Punwar, the brave and valiant Maharana Pratap's wife, my happiness knew no bounds. We had heard a lot about his bravery, back in school, and I was pretty excited and anxious to see what it really looked like. Those massive palaces, heavy jewelry and rich attires, the style and elegance those queens and kings carried were an experience to gain.

Through my look test for the Contiloe Productions' show, I was introduced to Faisal Khan, who was playing the lead role; Kunwar Pratap. I had heard about him through media, he had won the trophy for DID Little Masters 2. Since then, he was the buzz of television. I had predicted that he would remain in the field of dance. But seeing him there, I was taken aback. A few days back, my mum had shown me a few episodes of the show so that I could get an idea, and undoubtedly, I was quite impressed. Never thought that a dancer would be such a fine actor.

"Hi" was the only word I personally said to him. He seemed a bit shy as he replied with the same. Nervousness crept in me as the director was finalizing the cast. Many talented girls had auditioned for the role but not selected.

Dear Mrs. Walia,

Your daughter, Roshni Walia had auditioned for the role of Ajabde in our show a few days back. We are happy to announce that your daughter is absolutely perfect for the role.

See you next week Monday...'

I re-read the message again and again as I couldn't imagine that I got the role.

"Di, please pinch me... I don't believe that they accepted me!"

"I am proud of you Roshni!" my mum whispered in my ear. I could see the happiness in her eyes.

I won't let you down Maa' I promised myself...

Chapter 2:- You?!

For the past couple of weeks, I have been so busy that I am unable to catch up with my life. It feels as if there is a train to catch and I can't pause for a single breath. But seriously, these weeks might have been the busiest but surely were the most memorable weeks of my life. I couldn't thank more for giving me such an opportunity.

Flashback. 1st day of shoot. Film City.

I entered the set with my mom by my side. For some reason, this nervousness wouldn't leave me. My mum was constantly trying to calm me down

"Roshni, you will be fine! And anyways, it isn't your first show right, you are my brave girl..."

But my heart refused to accept this fact. Why was I so scared?

We reached the sets and the first thing I saw was the palace. The amazingly beautiful Bijolia Palace. Decorated with vibrant pink drapes and yellow flowers, the place looked no less than heaven to me!

"Hello, we were waiting for you! It is a pleasure having Roshni play the role of Ajabde" greeted the director.

He showed us my vanity room and told me to get dressed for the scene. When my mum asked for assistance, he said that there would be people helping me.

I stood in front my vanity room, not believing what I saw! My hands softly touched the walls of the room, scanning each and every brick. I proceeded towards the door, stepping into the room...

SURPRISE!

My eyes were in for a shock. I stood there dumbfounded and what I saw in front of me!

JANNAT!!!!!!!

I rushed to hug her! Questions bombarded me in my mind... what was she doing here? How did she know that I was here? Was this all planned? Did my mom know anything about it? How did this happen?

Jannat, my best friend. I know her for as long as I can remember. We have been doing everything together, from celebrating our birthdays, to going to school. If we weren't together, one of us would surely start crying. I hadn't informed her about my role here as I wanted to surprise her... but I was in for a surprise!

"How are you here? How did you know about my role? When did you plan all this? Answer me Jannat, tell me everything!"

Tension grew around me as I waited impatiently for answers.

"Offf! Roshni!, Patience! Okay, so your mum told me about your success in getting this role. So that's why I came!" She gestured through her hands. "And rahi baat meri...I had auditioned for a role in this show as well."

"What!" my eyes grew wide! "So you got selected?" I exclaimed!

"Yes! I got selected as the role of Phool Kanwar, Ajabde's best friend!" She replied, equally excited!

"Oh My Goddd Jannat!!!!!!!" I screamed in joy. I was so delighted to see her here. I twirled her around and around, expressing my happiness. Now that she was here, I knew nothing could go wrong. I realized that my nervousness that was bugging me all this while, vanished. Suddenly, something struck in my mind.

"Jannat! My best friend in real life is portraying my best friend in the show!" I cried.

"Oh My God yeah Roshni" she smiled.

Look at how destiny plays its role! Bhagwanji knew that I was very anxious and nervous about this show and He sent my closest friend to me!

"Thank you Bhagwanji" I whispered a silent prayer.

"Come on now, enough of our reunion! Go and get ready!" Jannat informed.

In all this, I had forgotten what my main purpose was for coming in this vanity room. I had to get ready quickly; no one would want to get scolded for being late on the first day of shoot.
