Part Nineteen
Recap: Angad and Kripa on their way to London. [Page 24]
Angad and Kripa left towards the aircraft. Both of them went inside and made their way towards first class.
Kripa: Angad, uhhh, aisa karo tum window seat pe bahat jao.
Angad: OK (sitting down) lekin kyun, tumhe flights se darr lag ta hai kya. And he started laughing, as a joke.
Kripa (lying): Uhhh, uhhh uhh n.. n.. nahin… nahin to.
Angad: Oh my God, iska matlab seriousily tumhe planes se darr lagta hai.
Kripa: Nahin, voh actually mujhe planes se nahin heights se darr lagta hai.
Angad: Ohhh, I see.
The plane went onto the runway and started taking off. As the plan was taking off, Kripa closed her eyes in fear and held onto Angad arm and started murmuring prayers. While all this was happening Angad was too busy just staring at Kripa to notice her nails digging into his arm. Once the plane was cruising in the air, Angad and Kripa chatted for a while and then both of them drifted off to sleep. Before they knew it, the plane landed in London, both of them completed all the airport formalities, claimed their luggage and headed out.
Kripa: Angad, how are we getting home?
Angad: Kripa, one of my friends is picking me up.
Kripa: Ohhh, I see, where is this friend of yours?
Angad: Pata nahin, he must be on his way, let me try and call him. (he gets out his mobile) Oh shit, there is no network here, Kripa, you go towards the pick up point, and I'll call him and meet you there, okay?
Kripa: Okay
Kripa started walking towards the pick up point and Angad started walking on the opposite direction with the hope of finding network for his phone. Kripa was walking when she bumped into someone, she was about to fall when someone grabbed her around the waist, to stop her from falling.
Kripa (getting out of his arms): I am so sorry; I wasn't looking where I was going.
Person: No, no, it was my fault, sorry, actually I was finding my friend and wasn't looking where I was going. By the way Hi, I am Prithvi.
Kripa: Hi, I am Kripa.
Both of them shook hands and started talking when Prithvi got a call, he excused himself and went to chat on his cell. Someone tapped Kripa on the shoulder and she saw Angad standing there.
Kripa: Hey, kahaan chale gaye the, tumhaara dost mila?
Angad: Haan, mere use baat to hui hai, who kehraha tha ke who yahaan pick up point pe hi hai, patina nahin, mujhe dikh to raha nahin.
While both of them were talking, someone tapped Angad, he turned around and a wide smile came onto his face. We see the person from the feet up, we finally see is face and it is… Prithvi.
Prithvi: Tu yahaan hai aur main tujhe kabse dhoond raha hoon.
Angad: Main bhi to tujhe kabse dhoond raha hoon.
Prithvi: Well ab tu bolta hi rahega, ya mere gale bhi lage ga, kitni der baad mil raha hai.
Both of them hug and Kripa could not see who Angad was hugging as they were at a weird angle.
Angad: Prithvi, meet Kripa. Kripa meet Prithvi.
Angad moved out of the way, Prithvi and Kripa saw each other.
Kripa/Prithvi: TUM!!!
Angad: Tum dono ek dusre ko jaante ho, am I missing something here?
Kripa and Prithvi explained the whole story to Angad.
Angad: Ohh, I see, toh ye hua tha.
Prithvi (laughing): And I had no clue that Kripa is my bhabhi, aura cha hua time pe pata chal gaya, nahin toh main toh iske saath flirt karne ka soch raha tha.
Angad (Putting his arm around Kripa): Prithvi, you are my best friend, but don't even think about looking at Kripa, because if you do, I am going to have to hurt you.
Kripa was just blushing and laughing and just dug her face into Angad's chest.
Prithvi: Haan, mujhe pata hai, don't worry maine Kripa ko dil se bhabhi maan liya hai, so you have nothing to worry about. Aur mera dimaak kharaab nahin hain ke main tere saath panga loonga, mujhe pata hai tu kitna workout karta hai.
Angad: Ok, bahot baatein hogi ab ghar chalein.
All of them leave for Angad's house and just chit chat along the way. Prithvi dropped them home and left as he had some work. Kripa looked at the house and instantly fell in love with it, it was so beautiful.
Kripa: Yeh tumaara ghar hai, bohut khoobsurat hai.
Angad wrapped his arms around Kripa's waist, hugged her from the back and put his chin on her shoulder and said: Nope, yeh mera ghar nahin hai, yeh toh humaara ghar hai.
Kripa just blushed, and Angad said, 'Kripa tumhe nahin lagta ke tum kuch zyaada hi blush karti ho.
Kripa: 'Shut up Angad' And she started hitting him on his arm. He wrapped his arms around her once again to stop her from hitting him.
Kripa: Theek hai, ab mujhe batao ke mera karma kahaan hai, mujhe fresh hona hai.
Angad: Aao na, main tumhe hamaara karma dikha ta hoon.
Kripa: Haan theekh hai…. Wait one sec, kya matlab hamaara karma, tum apne kamre mein jaoge aur main apne kamre mein jaongi, samjhe?
Angad: Kripa, what are you saying? We have no parents and you are still telling me to stay away from you.
Kripa: Angad, just because our parents are not here, we do not have the right to break their trust.
Angad: Theek hai theek hai, come I will show you your room.
Angad took Kripa with him and showed her, her room.
Kripa: Its so pretty, Angad ab tum jao, tum bhi fresh ho jao, main tumhe fresh hokar milti hoon.
Angad: Kripa, tumhe pata hai ke duniya mein paani ki kami hai.
Kripa: Haan, toh tum kya kehna chate ho.
Angad (naughty tone): Well, main soch raha tha ke hum sab ko kam paani use karma chaiye hai, toh agar hum aur tum saath mein fresh ho jaye, toh socho kitna paani bache ga.
Kripa (about to hit him): Angad tum jaate ho ya…
Before she could finish, Angad just ran out of the room.
Kripa: Paagal.
The next week went by with Angad busy with his project at his office, and Kripa was busy getting adjusted in London university. A week went by and Kripa got introduced to Angad's group of friends who consisted of Prithvi, Aaliya, Josh and Mishty. Kripa was surprised to know that everyone already knew her, as Angad had mentioned her already before. And everyone knew he loved her from when he was a child.
One day the whole group: Angad, Kripa, Aaliya, Josh, Prithvi and Mishty were all sitting around for lunch, when Angad got a phone call. He excused himself as he had to go back to the office as an urgent meeting came up. After he went Kripa said she had an important announcement to make.
Kripa: Guys, I have to tell you something really important. You guys know that day after tomorrow is Angad's birthday and I really want to give him a surprise birthday party.
Aaliya: Don't worry Kripa, we are all here to help you.
Kripa: Nahin Aaliya, mujhe koi help nahin chahiye, main saari arrangements karloongi but I just wanted to tell you all that you have to come and the only thing I need you all to do is invite all of Angad's friends because you all know them and I don't. Can you all do that?
Mishty: Don't worry Kripa, we will invite everyone, but are you sure you can do all the rest of the arrangements?
Kripa: Yah Mishty, you don't worry about that, I will do all that. Okay guys, I have to go, I need to go and do all the arrangements.
The next day went by quickly as Kripa was busy doing all the arrangements for the party.
Angad's Birthday
At midnight we see a dark room, we see a person sleeping on the bed and it is none other than Angad. We see a girl creeping into his room and it is none other than Kripa. She sneaks in, goes to Angad, kisses him on the forehead.
Kripa: Happy Birthday Angad, I know I won't be able to wish you when you are awake, but I wanted to make sure that I am t first person to wish you. HAPPYBITHDAY ANGAD!!!!
After kissing him once again she left the room and a sleeping Angad.
In the morning we see Angad waking up due to the sun's rays coming in through the window. He wakes up and smiles to himself. He knew Kripa would be the first person to wish him and he couldn't wait to meet her. He freshened up and went downstairs and saw Kripa already on the breakfast table.
Angad: Good morning Kripa.
Kripa: Good morning Angad, how are you?
Angad: I am fine Kripa, so….
Kripa: So? What so? Sit down and lets have breakfast.
Angad (thinking): Why isn't she wishing me, has she forgotten that it is my birthday (out aloud) Umm, Kripa aaj kya din hai.
Kripa: Angad aaj Saturday hai.
Angad: Nahin Kripa, aaj date kya hai
Kripa: Angad, aaj 10th Feburary hai, ye kya hai yaar tumhe toh date bhi yaad nahin hai.
Angad: Kripa, kya tume aaj ke baare mein kuch bhi nahin yaad.
Kripa: Aaj, nahin to, ohhhhhh haan, how could I forget, thank you for reminding me Angad, (Angad started smiling) aaj toh maine college mei jaake apna assignment hand in karma hai, aaj Saturday hai na toh main toh bhool hi gayi thi. Aisa karte hai, aaj tumhe bhi off hai toh pehle tum aur main mere college chalte hai, it will take me just two minutes, after that we will go and meet the gang.
Seeing Angad's smile turn into a frown, Kripa's heart melted she wanted to laugh and wish him right now, but she knew she couldn't do that, she just had to wait.
Kripa: Kya hua Angad, tumhaara mun kyun latka hua hai, plan toh theek hai na?
Angad (disappointed): Haan theek hai.
Angad and Kripa finished breakfast and left, they went to the college and then went to a caf where they met the rest of the gang. Everyone saw Angad's frowning face as no one had wished him yet. Everyone had already got a lecture from Kripa to make sure that no one will wish him today. He thought that everyone had forgotten his birthday and everyone was enjoying this situation as Angad would keep trying to find ways to remind everyone the date, but no one got affected. After spending the day together, everyone went home. Josh and Prithvi told Angad that there was a business party that they all had to go. Since Angad had to go to a party, Kripa told Angad that she would be going to Aaliya's house to hang out with her, he said okay, and they all left.
Angad reached the banquet hall in which the party was set. He walked in and saw the hall pitch black.
Angad: Hello, anyone there.
He walked backwards and found a light switch, he switched on the light and saw a bunch of people jumping up and screaming 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' Angad got the shock of his life and didn't know what was going on when he saw, Kripa, Josh, Prithvi, Aaliya and Mishty in the middle walking towards him. Kripa came up to him and hugged him and whispered into his ear, 'Happy Birthday Angad' everyone came up to Angad and told him how Kripa planned and organised the whole party herself. Throughout the party Angad was trying to get him and Kripa to be alone, but it was either he would get busy with the guests or she would be busy entertaining people.
Angad (thinking): God, how do I get Kripa alone, out of all the people, why did we have to be the hosts.
Angad was in a conversation with a lot of guys when he saw Kripa talking to one of the staff, he knew there wasn't going to be a better time for him to get to talk to Kripa alone. He quietly excused himself from the conversation, but no one seemed to notice as there were so many people present. He snuck behind Kripa and hid behind the pillar she was standing next to. He waited for her to finish her conversation with the waiter. When she did, she was walking back to the guests, when she felt a hand on her waist pulling her, she was about to scream when the person's other hand covered her mouth.
Person: Sssshhhhh, its me
Kripa looked up and saw Angad, Angad brought his hand down from her mouth and wrapped it around her waist and pulled her closer.
Kripa: Angad, tum paagal ho gaye ho, koi dekh lega, yeh tumhaari party hai, you have to stay with your guests.
Angad: Kripa, if we are not there for two minutes no one is going to notice, please, I have been trying to be with you all night but someone or the other always comes in the way. Please Kripa, it is my birthday you have to give me two minutes.
Angad pulled her even closer and slowly brought his lips towards hers. His lips brushed past hers, first the kiss started off as a peck but then it turned into a passionate one. Both of the broke the kiss unwillingly and Angad kissed both her cheeks, and dragged his lips to her neck and shoulder. HE kissed her shoulder and moved his nose up and down Kripa's neck, murmuring 'I love you Kripa, I really love you.' Kripa just stood there leaning into Angad as her knees had given up the second Angad kissed her, now she was just leaning against Angad caressing his hair while he loved her. At that time both of them forgot about the party, forgot about the guests, all that they remembered was them together and that is all that mattered. All of a sudden to ruin the perfect moment, Kripa heard Mishty and Aaliya calling her name to find her. She told Angad to get off her and ran back to the party adjusting her top and hair.
Once the party was over, everyone went home. Kripa went straight to her room, Angad who still wanted to talk to her, just followed her. Once Kripa was in her room, she turned around to shut the door, when she saw Angad standing there.
Kripa: Angad tum yahaan kya kar rahe ho, its late, tum bhi so jao.
Angad: Kripa, main apne birthday ke akhre pal tumhaare saath guzarna chahta hoon, and according to my watch there are still twelve minutes for my birthday to finish.
He walked into the room and sat down on the bed. Kripa cam and sat down next to him and justhugged him. So they were both sitting on the bed hugging each other.
Angad: Kripa, tumne mujhe mera birthday present nahin diya.
Kripa: Acha, what do you want.
Angad: First promise me you will give me what I want.
Kripa: I promise.
Angad: Okay just wait here then.
Angad went out of the room and a few minutes later came back. He went to Kripa, took out a handkerchief and tied it around her eyes.
Kripa: Angad, ye tum kya kar rahe ho?
Angad: Kripa, ssshhh, tum sawaal bohut poochte ho. Bas chup karo au mere saath chalo.
Angad lead Kripa to his room (Guys, please keep in mind, Angad's room is huge, it is like an apartment) He untied the handkerchief which was around her eyes and told her to open her eyes slowly. Kripa opened her eyes and saw that Angad's room was decorated with roses and candles.
Kripa: Angad, ye sab
Angad: Sshh, Kirpa ye maine bahot pehle se tayaari ki hui thi, lekin hum party mein chale gaye aur main tumhe yahaan laa nahi paaya. Kripa for my birthday present I want to make you mine forever.
Kripa: Kya? Main kuch samhi nahin.
Angad: Chalo mere saath , amin dikhata hoon.
He took her to the middle of the room and put a bunch of candles in the middle. He grabbed her hand and started walking around the fire, and after each round both of them made a promise to each other. They did the seven pheras, and Angad got a little box of sindoor. He tok the sindoor out of the box, and filled kripa's maang, while he was doing this, Kripa closed her eyes, and a few tears spilled out. Angad then took out the chain he was wearing.
Angad: Kripa, I have had this chain since I was born, and I have considered it my lucky charm, log apni patni ko manglasutra pehnate hai, kyunki who suhaag ki nishani hoti hai. Lekin mere paas manglasutra toh hai nahin, lekin ye mere nishaani zaroor hai.
Angad tied the chain around Kripa. Kripa hugged him tightly and tears spilled down her face. .
Kripa: I love you Angad, I love you.
Angad: I love you too Kripa.
