Or else Neel's meeting this morning was pointless
"Did u tell her we havent spoken with Nihar?" Amma said trying to muster some semblance of negativity in to the situation.
"We" se matlab?" Aap aur woh?" Amma asked devastated
"Nahi AAP aur main" Neel said"
Sigh... hope Amma is not falling into a pattern of 'cherry picking ' and selective hearing.
Very realistic...don't we all cherry pick only the data that's favourable to suit our positions and ignore the rest of the data. And sometimes we don't even pick from relevant data.
Amma is most definitely doing that here. She is trying to cherry-pick evidence like that of the dubious past of a marathi speaking girl or that of Nihar's approval , evidences that supports her unsure stance while trying to ignore contradictory evidence which in this case is the happiness in her son's face where suvi is concerned.
And Mrs. Sarita pandit, having been a student of political science herself must surely know a thing or two about the 'domino effect'.
Amma , a small event of your decision to meet suvi to vet her is surely bound to have a cascading domino effect leading to a chain of events that will take place in a short time to come as your son also feels he has now got to do the 'right thing'.
Now it's for amma to decide if she wants the 'domino effect' to be positive or negative .
