PART 8 :

Very slowly, with her trembling lips, Kashish dares to reach Sujal's cheek. Her lips, emitting heat out of nervousness. She knows not what to make out of this situation - is it need; is it lust or is it love? Whatever it might be, the answer is only one - Sujal!

And today, her feelings are at height! Holding herself is not in her control. As much she wants this right now, she knows not what she has wanted ever to this extent! It could only be his presence, prior to their marriage, when they both were unmarried and were madly in love with each other! But then again, it all has come down to Sujal, that she has wanted ever.

As she places on his cheek, the much desired, sweet, slow kiss - the evidence of her fluttering feelings for him, the windows swing open by the air pressure. As if the whole universe is rejoicing, this ultimate connecting of hearts! This much awaited meeting of two lovers, who were drifted apart by fate!

How miraculous it looks - god, the nature has always rejoiced when these two have met! Be it in the form of rain, when they danced together, to bring out their happiness; to make the world know that yes they are in love, that yes they are soulmates - for being which, you don't necessarily have to get married, it is the heart that chooses, not the marriage that approves a lover! Or in the form of fast moving wind - wind not storm. Because now storm has no place to enter their lives. The only thing they deserve to feel is the tickling caused by soft blowing air. Air, which would flicker Kashish's hair. The delicate tendril of which, would Sujal remove from her face, causing her to shiver a little out of sheer pleasure, as his finger would brush through her skin. Can this be concluded now that pairs are made in heaven?

Unable to control themselves any longer, their heart beating frantically; their eyes and heart filled with nothing but immense love and a little with tears, they embrace each other into a tight hug. The velocity of which is directly propotional to that of their feelings for each other. The depth of their love for each other cannot go unnoticed today; not after this hug, this much desired hug.

For Sujal, it is like he has got his life back at last! Till today he had been living for the sake of living, but henceforth, he'll live because he wants to live! He wants to live with his Kashish; he wants to live for his Kashish. He wants to live not with hatred and grief filled in his heart; he wants to live with a heart filled with immense love for Kashish. Now he won't have to torture himself by remembering all the golden moments he had spent with her, which has lasted no more; rather he would create many more beautiful moments with her, which he'll cherish forever; which they'll cherish forever.

And when someone understands your feelings completely, without you uttering a word, the feeling you get, is just not happiness, it is ecstasy! This is exactly what they both are feeling right now. They pour their heart out through this hug. The hug, they both were craving for.

F - Thodasa pyar hua hai,
Thoda hai baki.
Thodasa pyar hua... hai,
Thoda hai baki.

And rest of the night passes by loving each other; by showing to each other how one is incomplete without the other; how this night is so precious for both of them; how much they both mean to each other; how they are soulmates! How they have all the rights to be with each other. How much they trust each other to give one another the right to take the next step in their marriage. Kashish keeps none of the stone unturn, to show her affection for her beloved husband; for her Sujal! The reciprocation of love from Sujal's side is no less. He for the first time, since their marriage feels that henceforth they are going to live like true husband and wife. They don't have to fake it, that they are happily married. Henceforth, they will indeed be happily married! They will lead a life full of love, full of blessings! This moment holds so much potential. This moment means so much to him. This moment is life for him.

~*~*~

Next Morning

Kashish's sleep gets disturbed by the sunrays entering the room. Not ready to open her eyes yet, she creases her brows, and turns around in order to get a comfortable position which will help her to drift back to sleep.

As she turns around, she unconsciously places her left arm around Sujal's waist, almost like hugging him. The sudden feel, brings a smile on her face. Still not ready to open her eyes, Kashish leisurely starts swirling her finger on him. Her doing so brings a smile on her face, thinking how he must be getting irritated. How his forhead must by now be covered with wrinkles, a clear sign of his irritation.

Feeling pity on him, with her heart full of love for him, her face twinkling with a smile and happiness, she opens her eyes... but what she discovers shocks her! It makes her world go upside down! Sleeping next to him is no one else but Sujal!

But how? How can this be possible? It was not meant to be Sujal! How can this ever happen? No, this... this indeed is some kinda joke.

As her mind starts registering everything; it starts thinking about the previous night, she realizes what a sin she has committed! How? How on earth, can she betray her love? How on earth, could she betray her true lover, her Piyush! The pativrata patni, the widhwa of Piyush, has she no shame? What a sin has she committed! She will need a proper 'shudhikaran' now, in order to get rid of this sin! Piyush... Piyush would certainly understand, how pure she is of heart! This, this was just an in-the-moment act that she had took, just got flowed away. Otherwise she loves Piyush only, her Piyush!

Quickly, she climbs down the bed, her eyes wide open, her drowsiness completely gone. Her whole body heats up. Today also, the reason is Sujal, but how contrasting are the reasons! The previous night she was enjoying the heating up of her body; but today, it is out of shame and guilt for having committed a sin!

Sujal wakes up too, as his eyes meets hers, he recollects all those beautiful moments that they shared last night, thinking of which brings a smile on his face.

Getting up, with a heart filled with joy and love, Sujal blushes and looks towards Kashish and finds her serious. Kashish cascades down her eyes as soon as it meets his beautiful pair of eyes, out of regret and shame. Sujal unaware of the real reason of her cascading down her eyes, takes it as a gesture of shyness, that she is feeling, after having shared the night with him. Fully occupied by the thoughts of the previous night and living in a dreamy world, Sujal giving her a last loving looking, goes out of the room.

Kashish sticks to her position, utterly shocked. The whole world swirls around her eyes. She cannot be addressed as a sanskari patni, no not anymore! Not after she has betrayed the trust of her husband Piyush. Oh why? why? why? Why didn't she check her emotions? How could she even for a moment think that she is the widhwa of Piyush Raheja? She is, she was and she will remain forever Mrs. Piyush Raheja!

How could she allow someone to touch her? Allow? Who is she kidding? She provoked him to touch her! She craved for his touch! So why is she feeling disgusted now? Why is her eyes watering up, with a feeling of guilt? Why is she thinking that she 'allowed' him to touch her? As if he was the one, craving to touch her! Was it not the other way around?

Unable to decide what to do, frustrated she gets into the bathroom and turns on the shower. Standing under the shower, not caring that she is fully dressed, she rubs off her hands, her face, everything, with a feeling of disgust, that she let him touch her! What became of her the previous night that she didn't think twice before letting him to touch her? But was it he who took the first step? Was it not her who encouraged him, by coming closer to him?

She cries and cries and cries! Her eyes blazing with anger. She is angry again with him, but this time the reason is different. Today, she is angry because she knows, she has realized quite a lot of times, Sujal holds the power to make her go weak on her knees by that one look of his. The look which reflects his innocence; his pure heart; his unshattered and clean feelings for her. She cries, almost shouts to release her pent up emotions - her anguish, her hatred. Today all these emotions, she is sharing with him!Because today, these feelings are not only for Sujal, that she is feeling for, they are for herself too. She is hating herself for instead of ruining the moment, she relished it! She is hating him, because he created a havoc last night, like always, that made her go blank. But if he does create a havoc always, so was there anything new he did last night? Should he be blamed for doing something unintentionally, on a regular basis? If yes, so why has she not ever punished him for creating the havoc prior to yesterday? Why suddenly she wants to bash him with the words of hatred? Is it indeed hatred for him, or is it her guilt that's provoking her to take the step?

"Piyush...",

she shouts, turning off the shower. As if the more she'll shout, she'll be able to get rid of this burden of committing the sin!

"Ye maine kya kar diya Piyush? Ye maine kya kar diya?",

she curses, sliding down against the wall, she sits down on the bathroom floor, crying profusely.

"Kyun nahi roka apne mujhey Piyush? Kyun ussi pal apne mujhey apne paas nahi bula liya Piyush? Kyun?"

she asks.

"Jo... jo haath apke khoon se rangey hain, maine... maine uss haath ko... kaise Piyush... kaise uss hath ko khud ko chuney diya? Kaise?",

she shouts, she cries.

She continues crying.

"Nafrat... nafrat ho rahi hai khudse aj mujhey!"

Looking heavenwards she asks for pardon,

"Ho sakey to mujhey maaf kar dena Piyush. Maaf kar dena..."

Unable to understand what else can she say for committing such a shameful offence, she cascades down her eyes, out of shame.

Rubbing off her tears, Kashish gets up and says, spitting venom through her each word,

" Ye mat sochna Mr. Sujal Garewal ki tumne mere pyar ko hasil kar liya hai. Tum jeet gaye ho! Main tumhari rahon mein itne kantey bichaungi, tumhari zindagi mein itna zeher bhar dungi, ki tum aaj jis pyar ki ibadat karte ho, jis pyar ko tum apni zindagi samjhte ho, kal ussi pyar ke liye tumhare dil mein itni nafrat hogi, ke tum khud se puchoge ke 'Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon?' "

-THE END-

Aur Jaane Se Pehle ~ Author's Note

Have resumed writing at last! Whom else could have I chosen but this adorable pair, to resume writing with? The very first pair I ever fell in love with! Oh yes, the love is still intact. I guess I don't have to give any proof, because I am sure those who have been following my stories already know. 😉

Have dedicated this story to BedouinMe. I owed this story to her since a long time. Thank you so much Sanchari for letting me know on each step, what exactly you wanted from this story. I really hope I could stood up to your expectations. 😊

I seriously considered it to be an OS when I started with it, but I didn't realize when it got converted into an SS! 😆 I guess, got flowed away way too much, Sujal-Kashish, you should stop doing this to me! 😆

Well, I really hope I did justice to this lovely couple, to this beautiful scene, which held so much potential; the simplicity of which is the beauty of it.

Will keep this author's note short,😊
I hope disappointed, you are not!😳
Completed this story,*sigh*,
Ok! Tata! Bye! Bye!🤗

Chapter 1 Ma Ka Ladla!

"Mumma! Mumma mera tiffin kahan hai?",

shouts Rajeev, creasing his brows, from his bedroom, whilst packing his bag.

"Abhi layi...!",

shouts back his mother, from the kitchen.

"Jaldi lao Mumma. Apko pata hai na panch minute mein Vikas aane wala hai. I really hate this, punctual hona seekho Mumma",

he shouts from his bedroom, getting irritated.

Leaving his bag half packed, he walks out of his room and towards the kitchen.

"Haan bachey, mujhey pata hai tujhse panch minute ka bhi idhar-udhar hona bardasht nahi hota. Bhagwan janey tu shooting pe kaise kaam karta hoga? Mujhey to kabhi kabhi shaq hota hai, ki director se zada tu chillata hoga set par!"

Her words bring a smile on Rajeev's face. Reaching the kitchen, he hugs his mother from behind, while she is busy packing his tiffin.

Placing his chin on her shoulder, hugging her from behind, he says,

"Ek kaam karna jab main wapas aunga aur apne kisi new project par kaam karna shuru karunga, tab aap bhi aana mere saath shooting pe. Tab apko apke sarey saawalon ke jawab mil jayenge".

"Rehne de kahin mujhey bhi sabke samne gussey mein dant dia to meri bezati ho jayegi khamakhan. Tu hi ja apne shooting pe",

his mother tells him.

"Arey aise kaise bezati ho jayegi? Aap Rajeev Khandelwal ki Ma nahi, main Vijayalaxmi Khandelwal ka beta hun! Main ek aam insaan hun Mumma, aur aap meri Ma hain. Apko mujhse milne se kabhi koi nahi rok sakta. Aur apko jab mann karey, mujh par agar gussa aye, to aap mere kaan kheech kar wahin subke samne mujhey dant laga sakti hain. Apka pura haq hai Ma."

"Main janta hun Mumma ki main aap se bohot ladta hun. Par Mumma jab pyar karta hun to gussa bhi karne ka haq hai na mujhey?",

asks Rajeev.

This swells his mother's heart. Smiling, her heart filled with pride and love for her son, Rajeev, her Raj, she says, patting on his cheek, lovingly,

"Bilkul hai Raj... bilkul hai".

Turning, she embraces her son, her Rajeev, her Raj, and not any The Rajeev Khandelwal, into a warm hug. This conversation succeeds in welling up the eyes of - the mother and the son alike.

Straightening up, Rajeev rubs off the tears of his mother. Smiling, he shakes his head, gesturing her not to cry.

"Bus karo Ma, bus karo. Main tumhari ankhon mein ye ansu nahi dekh sakta. Meri wajah se tumhari ankhein nam ho, ye mujhey bardasht nahi hai Ma, nahi hai mujhey ye bardasht!",

he says melodramatically. He turns simultaneously, acting, to put more feeling into these lines. Eyeing his mother, through the corner of his eyes, blushing a little.

Twisting his ear from behind, showing fake anger, his mother says,

"Ye natak na set tak hi rakha kar tu, samjha?"

This makes him to laugh.

"Aa... aa... Mumma dhyan se. Agar mere kaan ko kuch ho gaya, to shadi kon karega apke bete se?",

he jokes, and tries to sound innocent.

"Badi jaldi hai tujhey shadi karne ki? Waise mujhey koi problem nahi hai. Tu kahey to aaj se hi rishta dekhna shuru kar dun?",

she asks him, teasingly.

"Meri pyari Mumma, apko itni takleef karne ki zarurat nahi hai. Main khud hi kisi ko dhundh lunga",

he informs his mother.

His mother, getting excited begins to ask, but gets interrupted by her son.

Pointing his index finger, his eyes twinkling like a small child, he tells her,

"Lekin iska matlab ye nahi hai ki main abhi inn sub cheezon mein parhne wala hun".

Shaking his head, looking at her, he says,

"Mujhey koi jaldi nahi hai. Chaliye ab main chalta hun".

Saying that, he leaves. His mother calls out behind him,

"Arey sunn apne Papa se milta jaiyo!"

He does hear that. He halts out side the kitchen, as he turns along the adjacent wall. This helps him to hide himself from his mother, to notice the nervous look on his face. Dad is 'dad'! He cannot deny that it takes immense courage of his, to face his strict father, Col. C.L. Khandelwal.

Sighing, he utters in a hushed voice, his nervousness palpable,

"Papa!"

Sighing, he motivates himself,

"Chalo actor Rajeev Khandelwal, bohot himmat dikhate ho na apni? Main kisi bhi khatarnak raste par chal sakta hun; main kayi baar mountains pe gaya hun; adventurous activities ki hain kayi. Ab jao real adventure trip pe - a short trip to 'Papa's Room'!"

Chapter 2 Trip to Papa's Room!

He checks his watch,

"Chaar (4) minute. Hmm... Vikas Saheb agar aap agle teen (3) minute mein nahi pohnchey to main akela hi chala jaunga"

Saying that, he focuses back on his current situation in hand - he needs to visit his father's room, now!

Knocking the door of his father's room, he asks for permission,

"Papa main ander aa jaun?"

"Aaja!",

comes the permission of his father.

Getting into the room, he finds his father resting on his bed, sitting, in a relaxed position, reading a book.

Smiling, he enters the room and locks the door behind him.

Walking to his father, he sits on the bed, at the edge, near his father's feet. Smiling, he says,

"Papa, Mumma ne apko kaha hoga ki main apne kuch doston ke sath ek trip pe ja raha hun!"

"Koi nayi shooting hai kya?",

asks his father without withdrawing his eyes from the book.

"Nahi Papa, agar koi nayi shooting hoti to main 'trip' nahi bolta, 'shooting ke liye ja raha hun' hi bolta",

says a confident Rajeev.

His this reply does catch his father's attention. He withdraws his eyes from his book and looks towards him. Keeping his book aside, he adjusts his glasses.

"Aa baith. Hai na time baat karne ke liye?",

his father pats the other side of the bed and asks him to sit. Rajeev looks towards him, guilt starts developing inside him.

"Apke liye mere paas humesha time hai Papa!",

he tells him honestly.

His reply swells his father's heart out of pride, that Rajeev is his son. And he is Rajeev's father! But just like Rajeev, his father excels in hiding his emotions. Like father, like son!

He makes sure that his affections for his son doesn't reach his eyes. Sometimes it becomes the need of the hour to hide your emotions, for the good of your child.

But he doesn't realize that it is Rajeev, he is dealing with here. Rajeev, his own son. How can he not know what is there in his father's heart? A man who can enact marvelously, when it comes to showing emotions onscreen. A person who if fails to connect with the script, chooses to walk out of the show instead of doing the show for the sake of doing and earning. How can he not understand the affection of his own father?

He understands his father is not very open when it comes to showing affection, but his love for Rajeev is immense. It is indeed there in his heart. He feels extremely proud when Rajeev marvels in some project of his. He does bless him each time he starts a new project, if not verbally, but silently, he does! He knows everything about him, but he never shows that he is updated about Rajeev.

Sitting, he looks towards his father expectantly.

"Kabhi kabhi mujhey bhi kahin ghuma laya kar! Waise to mera pura schedule hai purey din ka. Par agar kuch din apne routine se chuthi lekar kahin bahar ghoom aun to koi bura asar nahi hoga mere sehat par.",

smiles his father.

Seeing his father smiling, brings a smile on Rajeev's face too. His heart swells on realizing that the smile on his father's face is on his account. He feels proud of himself, having done that.

"Theek hai Papa, main wapas atey hi apke aur Mumma ke liye tickets book karwata hun. Bataiye kahan jana pasand karenge aap?",

he asks.

Looking here and there, in order to assure himself that he is all alone with his son, he gestures Rajeev, nodding his head, to come closer to him. Rajeev, surprised by this gesture of his father, as he doesn't understand what's the need of whispering when they are all alone? And what possibly can he hide from someone? But anyways if he needs the answer, he will have to oblige him first.

Rajeev bends towards his father and turns his face to the right, to give his father easy access to his ear, his brows creased, out of anticipation.

"Tu kyun meri khushi mein taang adana chahta hai?",

asks his father, in a hushed voice.

"Khushi mein taang...",

as he begins, he grabs what his father meant to say. And that brings a smile, a big smile on his face.

Shaking his head in a slow motion, blushing and staring his father continuously, he says,

"Papa! Aap bhi na... Kam nahi hain aap bhi!",

he accuses his father, jokingly.

"Main teri Ma ki roz ke chik-chik se durr hone ke liye tujhse keh raha hun ki kahin le chal. Aur tu unhe hi mere saath le jana chahta hai?",

scolds his father, mildly.

"Papa... aap na Mumma...",

as he was about to say further, his mother enters the room.

"Kya baat ho rahi hai baap-bete mein?",

asks his mother.

This irritates his father. He scolds her mildly,

"Ek baat batao jab tum dono Ma-Bete kuch baat karte ho, to kya main beech mein akar puchta hun ki tum dono kya baat kar rahe ho?"

"Arey Papa aap gussa kyun ho rahe hain? Mumma to aise hi bol rahi thi!",

says Rajeev, trying to calm his father down.

Meanwhile, his mother, who couldn't control her anger, on merely imagining, her husband disturbing her mother-son time, blurts out,

"Puch kar dikhao tum kuch!",

she dares her husband, anger brewing inside her as she mentally visualize, her husband disturbing her time that she spends with Rajeev.

All this makes Rajeev nervous and he finds it hilarious and adorable too at the same time.

Holding his mother by her shoulders, standing behind her, he says,

"Acha-acha Mumma, ab aap dono please larho mat. Ab dekho, agar aap dono larhe, to mujhey aap dono ki larhai suljhani hogi. Aur apko to pata hai jab main koi kaam haath mein leta hun to ussey bina pura kiye to chorta hun nahi. To iska matlab ye hua ki mujhey agar aaj pura din bhi lag jaye aap dono ki larhai suljhane mein, to wo main karke rahunga. Aur agar main ye karne baith gaya... to pata hai kya hoga?",

asks Rajeev, dramatically. And stares his mother.

"Kya hoga?",

asks his mother.

His father gives his full attention to all this, with a little smile on his face.

Rajeev bends a little to whisper in his mother's ear, but says loud enough for his father to hear.

"Vikas meri jaan le lega!",

saying that he keeps a straight face for few moments, like a true actor and waits for his mother to react. A reaction he knows quite well, and he is sure to receive.

"Thehr tu...",

says his mother and acts to run after him to beat him.

Laughing, he runs away. His mother and father have a fit of laughter.

Picking up his bag, with a smile on his face, Rajeev returns back to their room. Hugging them one after the other, he touches their feet to seek their blessings.

"Mumma, main Dada, Bhabhi aur Rahul se nahi mil pa raha kyunki wo hain nahi ghar pe abhi, unhe please meri taraf se sorry bol dena. Main wapas aate hi unse milta hun. Okay?",

smiles Rajeev.

"Theek hai beta!",

says his mother smiling.

"Bye Ma! Bye Papa!"

"Bye beta!",

they greet him in unison.

Chapter 3

"Extremely sorry yaar main...",

checking his watch, he continues,

"Teen (3) minute late ho gaya!",

he sighs.

Standing, leaning by his car, Vikas looks at him, drifting his attention from his mobile. Swiping it into his jeans' pocket, he asks Rajeev,

"Kitne saalon se janta hun main tujhey Raj?"

"Kya?",

he asks, creasing his brows, setting his trip bag properly on his shoulder.

"Tu kehna kya chahta hai?",

he elaborates his question.

"Zada kuch nahi, filhal bus itna puch raha hun, kitne saalon se janta hun main tujhey?",

Vikas repeats his question.

"Bachpan se. Nursery se!",

replies Rajeev, puzzled, as to why is he asking such a silly question?

"Right! To yaar main janta hun tu kitna punctual hai. Agar 2-3 minutes late ho gaya hai, to koi pahad nahi tut gaya! Ab chaley 'pahad' charhne?",

he asks seriously, then burst out into a laugh. Rajeev follows the laughter!

"Tu bhi na yaar... hadd hai... chal!",

saying that, Rajeev places his bag into the back seat of Vikas' jeep. And himself sets next to him in the front.

Looking towards Vikas, with a smile on his face, he asks,

"Chaliye bhai karey Shree Ganesh iss safar ki?"

"Haan zarur. Aur bhagwan karey ye trip yaadgar sabit ho bacha!",

says Vikas.

They both laugh and begin with their journey.

Rajeev relaxes back on his seat.

"Yaar agar kuch mahino baad baad ghumne na jaun na to aisa lagta hai zindagi agey hi nahi barh rahi.",

says Rajeev.

Smiling, Vikas asks,

"Tujhey itni jaldi kyun hai zindagi ke agey barhne ki?"

"Matlab? Tera matlab ye hai ki main zindagi ko slow motion mein jeena shuru kar dun?",

asks Rajeev, getting a little serious.

"Nahi, slow motion mein nahi, bus bhaag mat. Zindagi ke har pal ko jee",

advices Vikas.

"Wohi to kar raha hun. Zindagi ke har pal ko jee raha hun, khush reh kar. Par kabhi kabhi na zindagi ko takkar dene ka mann karta hai! Mann karta hai ki kahun khul kar ki agar hai himmat to samna kar mujhse!",

says Rajeev, getting excited. He feels the adrenaline rush.

Vikas shakes his head, smiling.

"Yaar itna suhana mausam hai, trip par ja rahe hain. Gana-wana chala na koi!",

says Rajeev.

"CDs tere samne hain, jo gana chalana ho chala le!",

replies Vikas, whilst driving.

Checking his CDs Rajeev says,

"Abey tu bhi kya english songs ke bhandar le aaya. Ruk main dekhta hun, mere phone mein issey achey collections honge".

"Yaar samne yahi parhe the jald baazi mein utha kar le aya. Warna mere mobile ke ganey tujhey dhundhne se bhi nahi milenge samjha tu!",

says Vikas, feeling proud of his collection.

"Haan haan janta hun sarey dukh-bharey gano ki list tere paas hi milti hai mujhey. Pata nahi tum logo ko kya maza aata hai itne emotional ganey sunn kar!",

shrugging off.

"Look who's talking! Come on Raj tujhse ye umeed nahi thi!",

Vikas shakes his head, smiling, disappointed.

"Kyun? Maine kya kiya?",

asks Rajeev, unable to comprehend with Vikas's words.

"Yaar you have a good taste. And you should know emotional ganey hi best hotey hain.",

says Vikas.

"Yes I do have a good taste, I know. But I have varied tastes, and which taste will I go for, wo depend karta hai ki kis mood mein, kis situation mein hun",

replies Rajeev. Then creasing his brows, he says,

"Like iss waqt main masti ke mood mein hoon, relax karna chahta hun, josh se bhara hun. So of course main dukh bharey geet sunna pasand nahi karunga. I need the music which lets me to feel that 'yes man I am going for an adventure trip'. Ye ganey sunn kar to aisa lag raha hai jaise main apne kisi relative ke ghar ja raha hun",

says Rajeev.

His words make Vikas to burst out into laugh.

"Relative ke ghar? Wo log itne burey hote hain kya?",

he asks, after laughing his heart out.

"Not all! Hain kuch jo mazedar bhi hote hain. But anyways kabhi kabar majburi bhi hoti hai yaar unse milna",

says Rajeev.

"Haan yaar, main samajh raha hun teri baat!",

replies Vikas, understanding Rajeev, sympathising with him.

"Chal aur bata tere projects selection kaisa chal raha hai? Koi story pasand ayi? Anything new jo tu kar raha ho?",

asks Vikas.

"Kahan yaar. Yaar mujhey to samjh nahi aata ke aj kal ke writers ko ho kya gaya hai? I mean, I know I should not say like that, but yaar perfection kahan hai?"

"Perfection? What do you mean? Tujhey stories mein perfection nazar nahi aata?"

"Yaar ek banda perfect tab hoga mere hisab se, jab wo kuch alag karey. Wohi purane type ki peedhi dar peedhi chaley aane wali ghisi-piti stories... I don't know mujhse nahi hota!",

says Rajeev, getting irritated as he remembers few pointless scripts that he read.

"Raj dekh agar kabhi kabhi bina achi script ke kaam karle hum to bura kya hai? At least kaam to mil raha hai?",

explains Vikas.

Pointing his index finger towards him, looking at him, Rajeev tells him,

"Bus yahi... bus yahi mujhse nahi hota! I cannot work just for earning!"

Sighing, Vikas says,

"Theek hai, fir wait karte raho. Aur kya?"

"Kal Rohit aya tha ghar"

"Kon Rohit?",

asks Rajeev, unable to comprehend.

"Arey Rohit Bakshi. Mila tha na Mr. Malhotra ke party mein",

reminds Vikas.

"Oh acha acha, yaad aya. Nice man. So kya baat hui?"

" 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' mein kaam kar raha hai"

" 'Kyunki...' ",

thinks Rajeev.

"Oh acha acha wo daily soap. Uske wajah se to Mumma aur mera bohot jhagda hota hai",

says Rajeev, shaking his head.

"Kyun?",

asks Vikas, surprised. How can a serial become a reason for a fight?

"Yaar kaam karke, thak haar kar main wapas ghar jata hun, late. Sochta hun ki ghar pe, bed pe aaram se lait kar, news dekhunga. Kabhi football match aye to wo dekhun. Tabhi aati hai dusre room se Mummy ki awaz. Papa aur Mummy ke beech roz remote lekar larayi. Papa ko news n all dekhna hota hai aur Mumma ko ye 'Kyunki..' What did you say the name?",

asks Rajeev, as he fails to remember such a long name.

"Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi!",

tells Vikas.

"Haan wohi. Waise waah, tujhey pura naam yaad hai! Such bata kahin tu bhi to nahi...",

teases Rajeev.

"Chal be!",

he shrugs him off, blushing.

This makes Rajeev to laugh out loud, Vikas follows.

Rajeev opens his playlist and presses the play button. And randomly comes out a slow track, exact anti to their current mood.

'(Tune) hmm...
Meri bheegi-bheegi si...
(Tune)

Meri bheegi-bheegi si,
palko pe reh gaye,
jaise mere sapne bikhar ke.

Jaley mann tera bhi,
kisi ke milan ko,
Anamika tu bhi tarse.

Meri bheegi-bheegi si...'

"Oh! Oh! Ye to tere mood se bilkul anti ho gaya. Koi baat nahi kuch aur chala le",

says Vikas.

But Rajeev, who has already started to feel the lyrics of the song by now, closing his eyes, starts singing along...

"Meri bheegi bheegi si,
palko pe reh gaye,
jaise mere sapne bikhar ke.

Jaley mann tera bhi,
kisi ke milan ko,
Anamika tu bhi tarse.

Meri bheegi bheegi si..."

Opening his eyes, he takes a deep breath, looking straight ahead on the road through the glass.

"Yaar kitna acha gana hai na ye? Kitna depth hai iss ganey mein! Mann karta hai kisi shant jagah pe, akele baith kar issey sunta rahun",

says Rajeev in a dreamy voice, his eyes - dreamy.

"Oh mere Rajesh Khanna... Waise Raj kya tujhey kabhi kisi ne kaha hai ki you resemble him?",

asks Vikas after teasing him.

His words make Rajeev to burst out into laugh!

"Hahahaha! Main... main... kiski tarah?",

he asks, and continues laughing.

His not taking Vikas's words seriously, pisses Vikas off.

"Rehne de. Tu to meri kisi baat ko kabhi seriously leta hi nahi hai!",

says Vikas getting irritated.

Getting calm, but still bearing the smile on his face, Rajeev says,

"Yaar aisa nahi hai ki main teri baat seriously nahi leta. Par ye baat nahi le sakta..."

Having said that, he enjoys another fit of laughter. This makes Vikas to laugh too.

Laughing, Rajeev looks towards Vikas to enjoy looking at him laughing. By now, Vikas enjoys their session of laughter too.

"Chal lag gayi shart?",

asks Vikas, being sporty.

"Rehne de mujhey faltu cheezon mein time waste nahi karna!"

"Darr gya?",

mocks Vikas.

Rajeev raises his eyes, looking in front of him, to nothing in particular. His entire focus is rather on Vikas' bet.

Smirking, he says,

"Dekh Vikas tu mera bohot acha dost hai, main tujhey haarte hue nahi dekh paunga"

Couldn't see that coming from him, Vikas, on listening to his words, rolls his eyes. His this gesture makes Rajeev to laugh.

~*~*~

At around 6:30 pm

It starts getting dark, but still the visibility is fine.

"Waise Raj, Aunty ke haath ka khana khake maza aa gaya yaar",

says Vikas, who still relishes the taste of matar paneer.

Rajeev, busy in adjusting the camera asks,

"Kis din ki baat kar raha hai?"

Vikas gives him a quick glance before focusing back on the road and asks,

"Kis din ki baat kar raha hun matlab?"

"Iss question ka matlab wohi hai mere dost jo maine pucha!",

says Rajeev calmly, still adjusting his camera.

"Aaj ki baat kar raha hun yaar. Abhi jo humne khaya!",

says Vikas, still puzzled.

"To wo khana banane waley hath Mumma ke nahi iss nacheez ke hain",

tells Rajeev, still playing with the camera.

"Nahi.. nahi you must be kidding!",

he says surprised.

Seeing the genuine smile and blush on his face, Vikas gives back a big smile.

"I mean I know tujhey khana banana ata hai, par ye such mein bohot acha tha yaar!",

says Vikas.

Now that fades Rajeev's smile. Turning to look at him, he asks,

"What do you mean 'such mein acha tha'? Tu itne dino se mera dil rakhne ke liye ye meri tareef aa tha?"

Laughing, Vikas tells him,

"Nahi! Nahi! Mera matlab wo nahi tha"

"Tu rehne de yaar, mujhey ganey sunne de",

says Rajeev, disappointed.

His anger makes him look so cute and innocent. This makes Vikas to laugh. Laughing he says,

"Yaar agar main 'ladki' hota na to mujhey abhi tujhse pyar ho jata! Tu itnaaa pyara lag raha hai!"

Blushing, cascading down his eyes and shrugging him off he says,

"Rehne de, main waise hi ladkiyon se pareshan hun. Ek dost hai, usse bhi nahi khona chahta"

Focusing back on camera, he sings,

'Tujhey bin janey,
bin pehchaney,
maine hridaye se lagaya.

Tujhey bin janey,
bin pehchaney,
maine hridaye se lagaya.

Par mere pyar ke,
badle mein tu ne,
mujhko ye din dikh laya.

Jaise birha ki,
rut maine kaati,
tadap ke,
ahein bhar bhar ke,

Jaley mann tera bhi,
kisi ke milan ko,
Anamika,
tu bhi tarse.

Meri bheegi bheegi si...'

As he completes with this line, he smiles and says,

"School ke din yaad aa gaye!"

"Kyun?",

asks Vikas.

Then suddenly he remembers,

"Achaaa kahin tu Valentine's day ki baat to nahi soch raha?"

And this makes both of them to laugh. Rajeev shuts his eyes as he laughs, blushing.
