Chapter 4- Anokha Bandhan

Before you'll start reading here is some information,
Pavitra and Ranjan Arora: Taani's parents

I found these lines I had written sometime back,apt for this update:

"Uss din ek anokha bandhan paida hua tha mere aur Taani ke beech.Joh khoon ke bandhan se bhi gehra hona likha tha."said Swayam fondly again going back to the past.
A 5 year old Swayam reached the hospital accompanied by his mother.He was constantly tugging at her saree.
"Mumma...gudiya kaha hai??"
"Abhi jaayenge uske paas beta."his mother said.
They went into the ICU where Taani's parents lay side by side,almost dying due to a fatal accident.An innocent 4 year old Taani was wiping her father's tears with one tiny palm while another was held by her mother.
"Papa nahi rona."she said sadly,unaware of what was actually happening.
Taani's mother's elder brother and her father's elder and younger brothers were there along with their wives and kids.
"Please Meri bachhi ka dyaan rakhna"her father pleaded his hands folded.
Everyone stood with their heads down.
"Bhai."her mother called out to her brother."Meri beti ko chodkar jaana meri buri kismat hai.woh bohot choti hai..usey achi parvarish ki zarurat hai.Please usey akele mat chod dijiye..jaise humein chodna padh raha hai."she pleaded.
"Pavitra"(Taani's mother) her brother said," Mera bhi toh ek parivaar hai.Patni hai,ek beta hai.Waise hi utna nahi kama paata.Ab taani ko bhi le jaakar kaisa sambhalunga??Mujhe maaf kardo."
Taani's mother shut her eyes tight,tears flowing from them.She held Taani's tiny palm tighter.
"Mumma..aap bhi nahi rona."said Taani breaking her mother's heart even more.
"Bhaiya.."her father,Ranjan began but was interrupted by his elder brother.
"Dekh Ranjan,mujhe maaf karde.Main itni badi zimmedaari nahi utha paaunga.Mere do bete hai.Taani ka bhi paalan poshan karna mere liye mumkin nahi hai."he said.
His soul crushed,her father turned to his younger brother.
"I am sorry Bhai.I have just started earning well enough to support my wife and son.Agar aap chaahe toh hum Taani ko ache orphanage mein chod denge lekin uska dyaan nahi rakh paayenge."he said breaking Ranjan's heart into a million pieces.
Swayam heard the word orphanage and looked up.
Ranjan called his eldest brother's son,Abhi.
"Abhi beta..dekho apni behen ko.Iske saath rehke iska dyaan rakhoge??"he asked him.
Abhi remained mute not wanting to offend his father.His father angrily pulled him away from Ranjan.
"Maaf kar dena Ranjan."he said masking his anger.
The relatives walked out pulling their kids along with them.
"Hey krishnaji...ab meri Tanu ka khayal kaun rakhega."her mother cried,caressing Taani's cheeks.
"Mummaa.."said Taani,now crying.
She was unable to understand the reason behind her parent's tears and why all her brothers and their parents had walked away,making her parents cry more.
Swayam walked forward.His father helped him and placed him beside Taani.
"Mat ro gudiya.."said Swayam wiping Taani's tears.
"Aap dono kyu ro rahe ho??"he asked Taani's parents.
"Beta..main aapse kaha haina ki har koi kabhi na kabhi hamesha ke liye Krishnaji ke paas chala jaata hai??Aunty aur Uncle wahi jaa rahe hai."his father explained slowly.
"Matlab uncle aur aunty kabhi waapis nahi aayenge??"asked Swayam trying to grasp what his father meant.
Tauji shook his head negatively. Swayam could not speak.
Taani's father caressed her hairs..he felt like the worst father ever currently.There was no gurantee to his daughter's future.Yes,there were some savings in her account but what after that??
And who would provide the fatherly nourishment she required??
How and where would she live now??Was she destined to live in an orphanage with no one to call her own??
"Toh Taani ka dyaan kaun rakhega??"Swayam asked after a long moment,staring at his father.
Neither his mother nor his father could answer.
While Taani's parents couldn't control their tears at this question.
Why was Krishnaji doing this to their daughter??
Taani's mother kissed her daughter's forehead,cheeks and hands.She couldn't imagine what her daughter would have to go through after their death.She would be all alone..with no one to look after her.
Her heart ached at the fact that she wouldn't receive the motherly love she needed at this tender age.
Swayam looked at the mother-daughter duo and at Taani's anguished father beside them.
He tugged at Taani's palm,holding it in his making her mother release her.
"Main hun na."grinned Swayam."Main rakhunga meri gudiya ka khayal."he said holding Taani's palm tightly in his.
Their parents looked at him stunned.
"Main toh pehle se hi iske saath raha hun.Aage bhi rahunga."he smiled wiping away Taani's tears.
"Aap log chinta mat kijiye.Krishnaji ke paas khush rahiye.Main hun Taani ke saath."he told Taani's parents in an assuring tone.
"Swayam yeh tum.."his mother began but her husband did not allow her to complete.
He caressed his son's hairs and said,"Bilkul sahi kaha beta.Pavitra,Ranjan main tum dono se vaada karta hun ki main Taani ko financially support karunga.Baaki toh Swayam uske saath hai.Woh uska dyaan rakh lega."
Taani's parents' joy and relief knew no bounds!!
They looked at their daughter safe and content in Swayam's embrace.
Somehow they knew that she was in the right hands.
"Rishi..tumhara bohot bohot shukriya."exclaimed Ranjan,folding his hands in gratitude.
"Mera shukriya mat karo..joh pyaar tum dono Taani ko dete woh pyaar mera Swayam dega.Vishwaas rakhiye."he said holding Ranjan's hands in his.
"Bhaiya..hamare apne khoon ke rishton ne humari beti se muh mod liya.Par aapne.."she sobbed.
"Nahi Pavitra.Aisa mat kaho.Jab tak Swayam hai,tab tak Taani kabhi akeli nahi padh sakti."he smiled.
"Bhaiyaaa.."said Taani wiping Swayam's tears.
Pavitra held Swayam's caressed Swayam's face and said,"Taani ke cousin bhai hone ke bawajood unhone bhi Taani se itna pyaar nahi kiya..par Swayam..itni si umar meri beti se itna pyaar karta hai.Taani beta apne Bhaiya ko kabhi tang mat karna thik hai??"
Taani cutely shook her head.
"Swayam??Beta ek vaada karoge??"Taani's mother asked him.
Swayam nodded,confused.
"Tum apni behen ka kabhi saath nahi chodoge.Promise??"she asked holding her hand out.
He placed his tiny palm in hers and said,"Promise."
"Swayam..taani bohot lucky hai ki tum ho uske saath.Hamara dil ab shaant hai..hum jaante tum apni behen ka ache se khayal rakhoge."said Ranjan caressing Swayam's hairs gently.
Swayam couldn't properly grasp what he was saying but understood that he was happy that Taani had Swayam with her.
Taani's parents' last moments were approaching.
Her mother kissed her forehead and hugged her tightly to her bosom,sobbing.
"Mummaaa smile.."said Taani.
She caressed her daughter's hairs and smiled. "Taani..yeh lo isey pakdo."she said handing Taani an idol of Lord Krishna.
"Krishnajiii"grinned Taani.
"Isey apne paas rakhna beta.Hamesha."her father said sadly,kissing her forehead for one last time.
"Haan papa."said Taani trying to pull the idol's non-existent hairs.
Swayam placed his palm on Taani's which held the idol.
To her parents it was an assurance that their daughter would always be protected by Lord Krishna's grace and Swayam's love.
They both placed their palms over Swayam's,adoring the duo for the final moments.Taani placed her other tiny palm on her parents'.
"Mummaaa..pappaa..bhaiyyaa!!"she said smiling.
Her parents' breathed their last,finally content that their daughter will hvae someone like Swayam with her.
"Pavitra??Ranjan??"called Tauji to receive no response.He ran out and called the doctor.
"Mummaa??" called Taani touching her mother's cheeks and did the same to her father.She received no response.
The doctor came in and checked the monitors.
"They are dead."she stated and the ward boy covered their faces.
"Mummaa??Papaaa??"cried Taani unable to understand why their faces were being covered.
She pulled at the sheets but Tauji lifted her up and placed her down.He lifted Swayam up and made him stand beside her.
Swayam squeezed Taani's palms in his making her look at him with wide tear-stricken eyes. He held her hand and led her out.
"Bhaiyaa??Mumma aur Papaa nahi aayenge??"she asked him slowly,crying.
"Woh..inke paas hai.."he said indicating at the idol of Krishna tightly clutched in her hands.
She looked at it and then at him.
"Unhone kaha ki inhe apne paas rakho.Iska matlab woh bhi tumhare saath hai."he said trying to find words to explain.
Suddenly he had become too mature for his age.
"Sach??"Taani asked.
He nodded positively.He held her hands and wiped away her tears.She smiled a little which relieved him.
That day,Taani Ranjan Arora became Taani Swayam Shekawat.
Present:
Swayam sobbed harder while Sharon stared at the floor,overwhelmed with tears.
"Taani aur main uske baad ek dusre ki duniya bann gaye.Maa usey utna pasand nahi karte the..aur papa business mein busy rehte the.Main hi tha uske saath..aur woh mere saath."he said staring into space.
"Woh kaise bol sakti hai ki woh meri behen nahi hai?"he cried,suddenly anger taking over him.
Sharon looked up shocked.
"Kyu Sharon??Mujhse galti hui hai..aaj apni zindagi ki sabse badi galti kardi..par itni badi sazaa??"he sobbed clutching the carpet of the floor tightly.
"Swayam.."she said gently taking his other palm in hers. "Hum gussa unhi par hote hai joh hamare apne ho.Kyunki hum unse bohot pyaar karte hai." she reasoned.
Swayam shook his head.Sharon shut her eyes and sighed.
"Swayam..aise hi rote rahoge toh kaise chalega??Bohot raat hogayi hai..please so jaao."
"No."came his reply.
"Ok fine.Toh kal apne inn red super-swollen aankho ka aur tired chehre ka explanation Taani ko de dena."she said folding her arms.
He looked her confused.
"Oh come on Swayam!Bhale hi woh tumse gussa ho,tumhe aise dekhna pasand nahi karegi.Aur main bhi toh hun..mujhe bhi ache nahi lag raha.Please??"she begged.
Swayam smiled a small smile. "Ok.."
Sharon helped him up and made him lay on his bed.She kept caressing his hairs gently..unknowingly stirring another of his memories with Taani.
Flashback:
"Taani mujhe neend nahi aa rahi..bohot dard ho raha hai sar aur shareer."cried a sick 9-year old Swayam.
"Bhai..aapko bohot fever hai.Davai li haina.Ab rest lo chup chap."an 8-year old Taani ordered,placing towels soaked in water on his forehead.
"Par Taani.."began Swayam weakly.
"Main aapko aise nahi dekh sakti Bhai...main chahti hun ki aap jaldi thik ho jao.Aur aap ho ki.."she said while the tears brimming in her eyes made their way down her cheeks.
His heart ached to see her crying.He raised his hot,trembling palms to wipe them away.
"Fine..Sota hun."he assured her making her smile.
Swayam shut his eyes while Taani gently began caressing his hairs.
He never knew when he fell asleep.
Present:
A lone tear flowed from his shut eyes,while his lips curved in a small smile at the memory.
He fell into a fitful sleep.
I am sorry guys no TaaRey in this update!Since this was TaaYam's main flashback,I had to do complete justice..anyways this is a TaaYam story right??😊But next update will surely have TaaRey. 😃
