Ch 48 : Her Pregnancy
"Taani, i think we should go for a check up-" Avantika said to her daughter-in-law, she had doubt of her own ever since taani had told about her sickness.
"But maa, i'm perfectly fine."
"That i know, beta. I am talking about the pregnancy test, i think you should check once. Symptoms indicates you might be pregnant. " Avantika said to taani who's eyes widen in shock. That thought hadn't crossed her mind.
"Are you sure, maa?" Taani asked her, slightly nervous yet thrilled at the idea of being pregnant. Avantika nodded positively in response.
"I'll run a test then." Taani mumbled softly. Avantika smiled at her, she kissed her forehead and passed a glass of orange juice.
"Take some rest, I have to go in Mr. & Mrs. Mehta's party with your dad. But if you need anything, call kriya." Avantika said to taani who nodded in return. Avantika smiled at her and left the room.
Taani grabbed her cell phone and dialed his number. At first ring itself, he picked up the call.
"Hey, sweetheart! Hows your health now? Are you feeling better?" She smiled when she heard her husband's concern filled voice.
"I am feeling much better now, Rey. I called you because i want you to bring something when you comeback home-" Taani trailed off, suddenly feeling nervous to talk to him about her 'pregnancy' but then she has to.
"Sure, sweetheart. Tell me, what do you want."
"Can you bring a-"
"Taani, what happen? Why are you sounding so nervous? Is everything alright?" She could feel panic in his tone.
"Yeah! I am perfectly fine. So, as i was saying, can you bring a pregnancy test kit with you?" She said it finally, not dragging the matter further and making him worried unnecessarily.
She frowned when she didn't anything from him for next two minutes.
"Rey, are you there?" She called out.
"Huh? Ha, taani! And are you pregnant?" She could feel excitement in his tone, which made her smile and hope to make his words come true.
"I'm not sure yet. So can you?"
"Off-course, sweetheart. I'm brining the kit, we will check together." And before she could say something, he ended the call, making her laugh at his excitement.

After half an hour, the room of their bedroom clicked open and an excited Rey entered inside. He locked the door and moved toward him, who got up from bed once she saw him. Rey hugged her tightly and kissed her forehead as he broke the hug.
"Here." Rey handed her the small packet.
"Thanks. You wait here, I'll be back in a moment." Taani said to him, Rey nodded in reply, he sat on the bed impatiently where as she went inside the washroom.

Rey was pacing outside the washroom, waiting for her to come out. His wait was finally over when after 10 minutes, she stepped out of the washroom with pregnancy test stick in her hand.
Taani came to him and showed him the test stick.
"Its positive. I'm pregnant." Taani confirmed the news and she watched how his face brighten up and next moment, she knew she was in his arms.
"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much, sweetheart!" He rambled excitedly, Taani smiled, knowing this the was beginning of a new journey.
