CHAPTER 8:

Naina, Alekh and Dr. Shalini have finished their coffee. Trio are talking with Suriji but it's mostly alekh, Shalini and Suriji, who are talking. Naina is listing to their conversation but in reality her mind is not there. All the memories of KMA is coming in front of her eyes. She is remembering her past days which she spent in KMA. She is remembering her Rajveer sir. Her first meeting with Rajveer sir in canteen, when she and her friends were arguing with huda after their ragging.

Naina: Sir katane ke liye himmat chaiye hoti hai sir, jo cadet Huda main kaha.

Capt. Rajveer looks at herin amazement and says: cadet singh wo himmat aap me hai.

Naina: ji ha sir. jung main ek soldier akla hote huai bhi ek army ka hissa hota hai.Wo dushman ke aage apni jaan de deta hai, apni army nahi chod deta.

Capt. Rajveer looks at her and asks: aur agar army apne sodier ko chod de to.

All are quite and looks at him

Capt. Rajveer: jis tarah se ek soldier apni army ke responsibility leta hai, thik usi tarah se army ko bhi apne sodier ke responsibility leni padti hai. Agar army me phut pad jaye, to dushman kitni aasani se jang jit jaye. aur uss haar ki jimedari ek soldier par nahi puri army par hoti hai. got that.

She remebers how Capt. rajveer made her smile when she was upset and disturbed, after major Nair insult and taunting that she can never become a soldier.

Capt. Rajveer: Ah cadet Naina ah singh, aaj apni classes ke baad tum mujhe training ground pe milna. mere pass ek aisa magic hai jo tumhare es problem ko bilkul door kardega bilkul iss sandwich ki tarah.

naina smile: sure sir.

Capt. rajveer smiles too: c u at the training ground.

Alekh, Shalini realised that Naina is quite disturbed and is lost in her thoughts. she is not taking any part in the conversation. at that time orderly comes and inform Suriji that room has been cleaned.

Suriji: naina puttar tumhara room saaf hogaya hai.

Naina doesn't respond. Alekh keeps his hand on Naina's shoulder and asks: naina tu thik to hai na? kaha khoi hui hai?

Naina comes out of her thoughs : huhh.. khuch kaha tune Alekh

Alekh knows that she is rememebering her past. therfore doesn't push the matter: nahi maine kuch nahi kaha. Suriji ne kaha ki tera room saaf ho gaya hai. To tu ab room me shift kar sakti hai.

Naina: ohh okk. Thank you Suriji.

Suriji: koi gal nahi puttar. yeh to hamara kaam hai. aur betiyan kabhi tqq nahi bolti.

Naina smiles and says to them that she will go and shift in room.

Shalini: Arey Naina rukona main bhi aati hu. Maine kaha tha na main tumhari unpacking me madad karongi.

naina: Ahh Doc. don;t worry main abhi unpacking nahi karoogi. Wo kya hai na main kafi thak gayi ho. Aapko to pata hai ki main aaj hi Delhi aayi thi phir Delhi se seedha yaha aa gayi. main bas room jakar thodi der sona chathi ho. Hum unpacking shaam ko kar lenge.

Alekh and Shalini realises that Naina is making excuse. They both knew that Naina wants to be leave alone for sometime in that room. They both knows that what that rooms means to her. How many memeories she has with that room or to say with the person who once used to live in that room. They both have seen her sitting outside of that room after Rajveer's accident, watching continuously at the door, in this hope that Rajveer will come outside from the room and will say to her Cadet Naina ah Singh. Tum yaha. please come in.

alekh: thik hai tu jakar rest kar le. Hum tere se shaam ko milte hai. Dinner hum saath me karenge. thik hai.

Naina: haa baba thik hai. ab main chalti hu. and Naina goes from there.

Shalini: Alekh tumhe lagta hai ki humne thik kiya usse akela chod kar. I mean tum jante ho na ki Naina ko kitni taklif hogi.

Alekh: janta hu Dr. Par main yeh bhi janta hu ki wo bahut strong hai. aur usse is taklif se khud hi ladna hoga. aur iss waqt usse aekla chodna hi sahi hai, uski yaadon ke saath. Par aap tension mat lijiye mujhe pura yakken hai ki yeh taklif yeh dard ab Naina ko jyada nahi sehna padega. Bahut jald usse wo sab khushiyan milegi jin par uska haq hai.

Shalini: kya matlab.

Alekh realises that usne kuch jayada hi bol diya. Issliye wo baat ko ghumata hai aur kehta hai ki: Sahi to kaha maine. aakhir bhagvan kab tak aur kis had tak dard de sakta hai Naina ko. wo bahut dard sah chuki hai. Mujhe pura yakken hai ki ab to Bhagvan ka Naina ko dard dene ka kota pura ho gaya hoga. Aur phir main hu uske saath, aap ho. Wo yaha humare saath, humari nazron ke saamne rahegi. Wo ab akeli nahi hai. To obviously hum usse khush rakhenge aur wo khush rahegi. haa thoda time lagega, par sab thik ho jayega. aap dekhna.

Shalini: i hope jaisa tum keh rahe ho waisa hi ho.

On the other side, Naina is going towards Capt. Rajveer's room, but she is remembering him and seeing him everywhere. Every corner of KMA reminds her of him. almost every pace have some memory of them together. It's true also, when they were together in KMA, they always uses to end up meeting and colliding with each other. it was as if they were bind with some magnet which used to pull them together. They both knew they both are there for each other. They never needed anyone else. No one else matters to both of them as much they matters to each other. strange thing is that they both never realised how much they matter to each other. Both were unaware of their feelings. But later Rajveer realised what he feels for her. Unfortunately Naina never realised at that time when he was with her and now when she has realised he is not there. Now when she is remembering all those moments she is able to feel that how they both ended up meeting each other every time. how much he matters to her. She used to run to him for her every single and even small problems. whenever she used to feel sad he was there to make her happy. Whenever she used to feel happy she used to run to inform him. whenever she used to have doubt, she straightaway used to go to clear her doubt. He was there for her every single time. whatever she used to feel be it happy, sad, disheartened, whatever, He was the first person who used to come in her mind and who used to be there for her.

She is going towards his room, the room which has countless memories of him, memories of them. Her heart is beating very fast. Somewhere she is hoping that like every time he will be there inside his room and when she will knock at the door he will open it with his as usual charming smile.

she is there in the corridor, where his room is there. all those moments are coming in front of her eyes. She remembers their meeting when he saw her in that red saree. They both were looking at each other and walking towards each other with slow steps.

Capt.Rajveer looks at her from top to bottom and is lost in her beauty and whispers: Naina

Naina comes out of her trance and says. sir wo actually, Huda ne mujhse shert lagayi thi aur kaha tha ki agar main saree pehen kar aa jaogi to wo revolt me humara saath dega.

Capt. Rajveer: bahut hi kamal ki shert lagayi cadet. Huda ne.

naina looks at him quizzically: kyu

Capt. Rajveer: Kyunki iss khobsurati ke liye koi revolt to kya, jaan bhi de sakta hai.

Naina blushes and gives a shy smile. Capt. Rajvver looking at her continuously. naina looks at him and he comes into his senses and stammers

Capt. Rajveer: I mean..tum iss saree mein...i mean yeh saree achi lag rahi hai... tum iss sareee me... yeh saree tum par bahut... actually tum dono milkar... hmm. tum iss saree mein bahut achi lag rahi ho. and maine pehle tumhe kabhi aise college mein, i mean Kma mein.. u know..

Naina smiles at him: Thanks for the compliment.

Capt. rajveer: ofcourse. it's a compliment. just a compliment.

They both continue looking at each other.

Capt. Rajveer: u know i have go to go. but... good night.. and... have a good night...He adjust his coller.. and goes from there.

She reaches near his room door and remembers their next day meeting after that red saree meeting.

Rajveer was locking his door and going, when calls him from behind.

Naina: sir.

He turns and looks at her and remembers her in that red saree again.: ohh Cadet Naina singh tum.

Naina looks at him in confusion and says: Kyu sir aapne pehchana nahi.

Capt. Rajveer stammers a little: nahi.. pehcan liya... wo actually kal tum un kapdo main thi to.. aaj tum thodi pehchane main gadbad ho gayi and gives her a shy smile.

Naina to gives him a shy smile and blushes.

She is now standing at the door and sees his name plate, were Capt. Rajveer Singh Shekhawat is written. She touches his name and feels it. She is having tears in her eyes but she is trying to control them with much difficulty.

She knocks at the door because she forgot that he is not there. But due to her knock door gets open and then again she sees him standing there smiling at him and saying Cadet Naina ah singh, mere darwaje pe.. please come in..

Naina enters the room and sees him everywhere. she sees him standing near the kitchen counter and asking her

Capt. Rajveer: Kya logi, tea, coffee..

Then she both of them hugging them and crying. It was the moment when everyone came to know about Naina true identity, that she is Navin's sister. She came to meet him after the internal inquiry in which she was allowed to continue studying in KMA. She came to his room and Capt. Rajveer told her about his last meeting with her brother. He told her how much broken her brother was and how he shot himself. Both capt. rajveer and Naina were crying and ended up hugging each other.

She remembers her meeting with him in candle light during first meeting of their mentorship program. How she was telling about her bhaiya and her friends who used to come to her house to meet her bhaiya, whenever Navin used to come to home during his leaves. During that time only he asked her how much she trusts him and she told him that in this academy if she believes and trust someone then it's him and asked him to trust her.

She then goes near the bed and remembers the moment when she was bandaging his wound, which he got during Vice principal selection drill.

She then remembers the moment when he was unconscious because major nair added something in his drink during Vice principal selection drill and Naina was there, taking care of him.

She sees him everywhere, in every corner of his room, standing near the window smiling at her, sitting on the chair, looking at her with affection, in half sitting position on the bed with his back taking support from the headboard, near the cupboard taking out his clothes, in the kitchen making coffee, near dressing table adjusting his uniform. she sees him everywhere and breaks down.: Where are you Rajveer sir. please come back. i can't tolerate this pain more.. Please Rajveer sir..

she fell on the floor near the bed and starts crying. The tears which she was controlling from long time, are now coming out from her eyes. She hugs her knees and hides her face and is crying and taking only one one Rajveer Sir, oblivious of the fact that someone is watching her from the door because she forgot to close it and silently crying with her.
