Chapter 5

Kunwar Pratap and Shakti were dressed like commoners. He had asked for Chakrapani to accompany them. He knew at this moment Chakrapani would agree as Saubhagyawati was in Bijolia.

The plan was that they would stay at Saubhagyawatis house as Chakrapanis distant cousins and investigate the embezzlement of money.

The three of them left for Bijolia. They travelled in public transport. It was a small bus which was so overcrowded that it tilted to one side. Kunwar Shakti was clearly uncomfortable but kept his mouth shut as he knew if would say something his Dada bhai would kick him out.

They reached Bijolia bus stop and got down they had to walk down to Saubhagyawatis house. While on the way he saw a group of children running and screaming Jija aap hume nahi pakad sakte. Kunwar Pratap looked up to read the board it was school named Matrubhoomi vidyalay. It was the same unknown girl. Without realising he was staring at her

Chakrapani : Kya hua baojiraj??

Kunwar Shakti : arey Yeh toh wahi hai patra wali.

Chakrapani : Ajabde.

Kunwar Pratap : Kaun?

Chakrapani : jise aap itne dhyan se dekh rahe hai Na uska naam hai Ajabde.

Kunwar Shakti : alag naam hai

Kunwar Pratap : aap inhe kaise jante hai ?

Chakrapani : Yeh Saubhagyawati ki best friend hai. Hum jante hai Apka agla prashna kya hai. Woh vivah main nahi aa payi kyuon ki unki exams thi masters ki jaipur main. Itni pooch tach inki. Kya hua baojiraj? He asked with a notorious smile

Kunwar Shakti : Pyaar hua

Kunwar Pratap stared at him in anger.

While they were about to leave Ajabde called out Chakrapani

Ajabde : Aap yahan ,Bhago ki yaad aa rahi hai kya? Aur Yeh kaun.

Chakrapani : Yeh humare door ke rishtedar hai. Cousins hai humare

Yeh hai Bhai Ram ( Kunwar Pratap) aur Laksman (Kunwar Shakti)

Ajabde : Khamma Ghani

The two of them replied Ghani Khamma.

Ajabde turned to Chakrapani : Ap sab aj ghar aa jayiye Raat ke bhojan ke liye. Saubhagyawati aur Pandit ji ko Bol diya hai humne aap bhi aa jayiye.

Chakrapani : Arey Kakasa hai ghar pe!?

Ajabde : nahi Datta nahi hai woh do Dino ke liye sheher se bahar gaye hai. Kuch kaam tha?

Chakrapani : nahi kuch khaas nahi m. Chaliye milte hai.

Ajabde had a strange feeling when she looked at Ram. He had the same piercing stare as Kunwar Pratap.

She returned to the school.

While they reached home.

Pandit ji was not at home Saubhagyawati welcomed them.

Kunwar Pratap greeted her and gave her a gift as he was not present at the wedding.

Saubhagyawati was not convinced that they were his cousins. He was so formal with them.

In front of them she questioned Chakrapani

Saubhagyawati : Kaun he Yeh Sach Sach bataiye?

Chakrapani : Bhago bolna cousin hai.

Saubhagyawati : phir Jhoot

Pratap could not look at them fighting and revealed his and Shakti identify. She started apologising. Kunwar Pratap smiled and said there was no need.

They discussed about the problem in Bijolia.

Saubhagyawati : agar Ajab ne kuch kaha hai toh satya hi hoga. She is very smart..

Kunwar Pratap : par hum is chori Ka pata kaise lagaye!

Saubhagyawati : are jab sandhya ke samay Ajabde ke ghar jayenge toh.

Kunwar Pratap stopped and said kisi ko pata nahi chalna chahiye ki woh Kunwar Pratap aur Shakti hai.

They chatted while having lunch.

They came to Ajabde house a little early. Saubhagyawati introduced them to hansamasiji, Ratan and Balwant.She asked them to join for the sandhya aarti.

They reached the pooja Ghar. Kunwar Pratap saw Ajabde and smiled unknowingly. Ajab started singing the arti Ankiyan hari darsan ko pyasi.

Pratap was mesmerised by her voice. Kunwar Shakti poked his brother Chakrapani, Saubhagyawati and Kunwar Shakti exchanged smiles. After the arti she offered them prasad. And they sat down for talking while Ajabde went to the kitchen.

It was 7 pm and dinner time. All of them sat and Ajabde served them food and after this she sat down to eat.

Kunwar Shakti could not stop praising the food. He said itna swadisht bhojan hai n Dada bhai Ram apki pasand ki keep bhi. Bataiye kaisi bani hai.

Kunwar Pratap tasted and said it reminded him of his mothers kheer.

Hansabaiji quickly replied aaj Ka Sara bhojan Ajabde ne banaya hai.

Kunwar Pratap looked at her and smiled. All of them praised her cooking.

Suddenly Saubhagyawati asked Ajabde aap ko Kunwar Pratap kaise lage?

Both Kunwar Pratap and Ajabde choked at this question. Chakrapani said Ram bhaisa dheere khayiye.

Kunwar Shakti : Bataiye na bha.. mera mat lab baisa

Ajabde thought of the day she saw him and said : he is punctual. He seemed to be a man with a heart of gold there was a certain level of peace on his face. Woh dev purush lag rahe the.

Saubhagyawati: wah Ajab 10 min main itna sab Jan Liya?

Ajabde: han

Pratap smiled.

Hansabai ji: Acha Bhago main tumhe Ajab ki kundali de rahi hoon. Pandit ji se baat ho chuki hai meri.

Saubhagyawati : kundali Kis liye!

Hansabai ji: Ajab ke vivah ke liye

Kunwar Pratap (Ram) : Vivah he said softly to himself.

They greeted each other shubhratri n left.

Here Ajabde could not get Ram out of her thoughts and there Pratap seemed to be disturbed about the idea of Ajabde's wedding.

Kunwar Shakti: yojana banali apne Ajabde bhabhisa ki shadi rukwane ki.

Kunwar Pratap: nahi. Kuch nahi socha.

Kunwar Shakti Chakrapani and Saubhagyawati began to laugh.

N Pratap realised what had happened.

He re framed his reply ab tak yojana nahi sochi hai humne us chor ko pakadne ki. Bohot Raat ho chuki hai ab sona chahiye. Shubhratri.

He went to sleep wondering what was wrong with him.
