For Tambrams, it is usually a simple pooja in the evening-we make Sri Krishna's feet impressions in rice flour and place them on the floor, coming into the house. For neivedhyam-milk, butter, curds along with some sweets and savories made at home-Payasam, appam, Cheedai and Vellai Cheedai, and Murukku. If you have kids at home-you could also make sheepis (sp?)-it is the same base as Cheedai but made like a 2-3 in rope so that little kids can eat them easily. We don't fast for Janmashtami that I know...😃
