no need for jokes corner jai...u give title for each link describing what it is- like quote by envee/jokes by putti...i think that will b fine...and u can make it like what u finds fine...we r ok with it.

He texted her after dropping Shravu off for the morning, tennis was at 6 PM obviously Shravu couldnt go because of the temple event
She got to D II at 2 PM ish, carrying her saree and blouse for the evening
Selvi was washing the stairs she was overjoyed... enna kannu rendu naal sendapla? (how come u cane two days in a row?)
"Amma paisa kudukaren sonnanga" (Amma said she would pay me) II chuckled

"Vaa dee kannu" (come over love) she held the spiky broom far away from the young girl so it wont drip on her

"Nethikki ivlav mazhai yen inniki kazhi=uvarenga? (it rained so much yesterday why are u wahsing today?) II asked curiously

"Selvi gestured dirt and grime

"Ennadi avala interview pannindu iruke?" (why are u interviewing her?) Akka asked eating something off a bowl

"What are u eating?" II asked eagerly

"Fresh fruit and custard from your house" Akka smiled smugly "Mahavir packs things like he could easily work
in a restaurant, the chopped fruits were solid and crisp and the custard separate" Akka spoke in awe

II scanned for Shatabdi

"Where is the 9 baje ki superfast" she asked

"ISHITAAA" Akka whined

II giggled

"He is going so going to lou it when he is 5 pathinde iru nee" (just wait and watch)

"NOBODY will like a train name" Akka whined

II went to her bed and lay by him, he was just fed, he darted his tongue out hoping for dessert from Mommy... a lil pink thing between two orange slice like lips

II CRUSHED HIM and smothered him

He cried feebly

"Yenn dii" Akka yelled

II chuckled holding him in her arms

Amma heard and came over...

"Periappa va marandacha?" (forgot him or what?)

I know" II mumbled carrying the baby to his room

Returned after 20 minutes... she was teary eyed

Amma was putting away folded laundry...

"Ennachu"

NOTHING"II mumbled

"Appa kitta pidivadam pidichen. Panni kdudungo azha vekamla pathupan, rendu naal oru murai kanla thanni"
(I was adamant with Amma he is the right boy, now every two days u seem to be crying)

"I AM NOT CRYING ABOUT HIM" II HIISED

II burst out laughing "Romba tamizh serial pakare" (u watch too many Tamil soaps)

Akka filled dishes with water in the sink and returned to find her two babies
Amma was mauling her older baby

"Ennachu Ma"

"Azhara ketta, onnum ille solra" (she says its nothing)

"Amma konjam poraya... go take a nap, we have to leave at 5:30 toongu po" (leave the room) Akka ordered

Amma left reluctantly

Amma patted her daughter's shoulder

Akka bolted the other half

"Ennadee pannine?" she hissed

"REALLY?" II crushed baldie, he squirmed, she kissed him and inhaled his bald head, feeling the real estate

"Whats going on?"

"He was drinking beer in front of Appa I told him not to, he was so pissed he" II stopped

"Who hit who?" Akka asked

"Nobody hit" II looked confused

"I heard something in the kitchen"

"Ayyo Amma's overactive imagination" II went on the defensive

"I think Appa is right, inter cultural marriages have no compatibility" II declared

Akka lay down with a sigh

"The language, the food, the lifestyle... NOTHING matches" II continued

Akka's eyes were shut...

II was on the divan, she had refused lunch or dessert Mahavir had fixed a GIANT breakfast for her

"Dino oru sanda... we dont get along on five things we get along on the 6th" (WE FIGHT EVERYDAY)

Akka shifted

"He will never quit meat or alcohol... Appa will never like him... and he will never wear veshti and poonal" II mumbled

"TERINJU DAANE PANNINDE" Akka hissed (U married him after u discovered all that)

Ii nodded

"Yet u asked him to put away the beer?" Akka asked baffled

"Appa ku avana kandaale pudikale" (Appa hates him)

"Oh onakku pidichu iruka?"(do u love him?)

SHUT UP" II shouted blushing

"Thats means a YES" Akka smiled smugly

"U are trying to make him be acceptable in front of Appa that means it matters to u kanna" Akka explained

"I just dont want him to get into trouble" II mumbled

"If he was indeed the class bully the wealthy dude all girls kissed upto, would u worry?" Akka asked

II shook her head...

"U think I have it all, do u think Bala and I get along?" Akka asked

II looked up, baldie was attempting to hold her blouse tight... in a clutch, she almost gobbled his lil fist,
she growled and kissed the fist and rocked him as he slept

"If its not meat, beer and Punjabi, it would be something else da" Akka explained

"It wont be as bad as the three I listed" II argued

"U dont know that... I live in a joint family, Bala is as religious as can be... Appa hates many things about Bala
U should atleast appreciate Appa's honesty... Appa fakes it in front of Bala

At least in front of Rakshasan, he is honest, he expresses what he doesnt like, he puts Bala on a pedestal...
Bala timir jaasti aanade adu naala daan (Bala's ego is so inflated now its because of Appa) Akka was bitter

The girls were quiet...

"Appa will never tell Bala "My daughter needs her freedom why dont u ask Amma Appa to go to Ambala"
"When will u focus on ur family? U are almost 40 and you are still wrapped up in ur parents" Akka continued

"Paavam ka" II mumbled

"See u gush with sympathy for Bala... think about R&B, he lost his mother,
he doesnt confide in anyone, he lives his life however he wants it. Hes a decent guy...
YET u want him to live up to Appa's unachievable goals. Thats so unfair" Akka explained

"He told me on my face I wont put the bottle away" II cried

"WHY DID U ASK?" Akka shot back

"Why will u let Bala drink beer when Appa comes home?" II asked

Akka squirmed

"U seem to be handling R&B with kid gloves" II was bitter

"We wont know what it is to lose our mother as the world watches" Akka was blunt

"I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT KA" Ii shouted crying

"But what he is today has everything to do with it, the fact that you are his wife has everything to do with it" Akka declared

"Thats is so unfair ka... vazhnal poora enna sonnalum he will have this for a stock reply?" (All my life when ever I ask him something) II argued

"If he was not visibily holding a bottle, would Appa have loved him? or loved him more?" Akka asked

II didnt respond

Akka repeated

II shook her head

"VANDU TOONGU VA" she cooed to her baby sister

"NO... he walked away... do u know HALF WAY" she mumbled

Akka was shocked

She got off the bed and walked over

"achocho" she whispered

II sobbed...

"Onna patne pottutana?" Akka chuckled (he let u starve)

Ii punched Akka

"I am sorry, da sorry da" Akka hugged her

"I am staying here tonight" II mumbled...

She napped, got up drank chai Amma made, changed into the dark pink self print Kanjeevaram with the swan motif,
the one she wore to Natesan Mama's 80th ermm... Sam's baby shower

they went to the temple at 6 ish... R&B showed up clean shaven dressed in formal navy trousers and a white cotton shirt

Sat through the whole thing...
Made polite conversation with Uma Mami, Natesan Mama, Natesan Mami, Radha Mami and the 100s of other random Mamis
Amma packed him jaggery pongal and salted pongal and bananas and flowers to take home

Ranjan came, not Manya or Makarand Rao Sam came for 30 minutes, and Mukund...
He lingered hoping to exchange a word with his wife

His wife played hard to get, chatting with Vetri and his Dad...
She met Bala too (coming up in next) and she got scolded by Amma for talking family politics with Ranjan

He took off by 9 ish

They went back to D II

She stretched on the divan holding the baby, Hema Mami had gone to Tanjore she brought too south Indian prandis for Akka and her

Akka braided her hair with those AFTER returning... Amma pinned more flowers... II paraded for Appa and Periappa

"I am staying here tonight" she texted him

"No" he texted back immediately

Her heart skipped a beat at the obviously possessive ordain... she looked at it a while and ignored it
And went back to the divan... and sang for the baby, pointing to the big orb outside

"Sit down no? ka... the big events are all done, I promise I will watch him tonight, u can be romantic with Athim" II laughed

there was no response

She turned, he leaned on the wall watching her, she held the baby tight and sat up startled,
her new parandi-ed braid kissing the floor as she swung up...

He would save that image in his mind

In the dark pink saree and gold blouse, holding the infant close, her hair filled with flower strings the long braid almost touching the floor
The 60 watt bulb's glow making her appear a exponentially beautiful...
