The Bad & Uninvited

One of her braids stuck out horizontally while the other one, which she shook, unraveled and attempted three times was vertical and neat

She kept pressing the horizontal one behind her right ear, "Tape it" he said softly, holding Lasya, as they walked down the stairs

She laughed "Paavam da kozhandai" she whispered

"U would love for me to do it so I can be the bad guy and u can be the savior?" she asked

He nodded sincerely, he "wanted" to be the savior, of Lasya and...

"After she starts talking I am never leaving you two alone, you alone are enough to sabotage my reputation" she said mirthfully

He nodded in agreement

He said little, she overwhelmed him with her quick witty thoughts and endless chatter

Sam saw her braid set her glass of tricolor down and rolled on the kitchen floor

II looked accusingly

"I am trying" she whispered

Sam nodded trying to keep a straight face and then laughed again

Amma found her by the "service stairs", in the kitchen

"WHERE WERE U?" she asked

"May I hold her?" Amma asked politely

"REALLY?" II said aloud

He chuckled handing a reluctant Lasya to Amma

Lasya reached for the bigger 8 stone nose ring shaped like a butterfly, Amma wore, gently grabbing it between her index finger and thumb

Thinking she "got it" and then checking her fingers and then going back to do it again, the diamonds sparkled in the expensive kitchen lights

R&B got himself another beer from the frig

Appa walked over to them from dont know where, and asked R&B "Is that your second?" HE ASKED

"U told him once" Amma said sharply

"Hes my son in law he should take care of himself" Appa channeled the shaadi ka sentiment

R&B sipped, II glared at him...

"I was shocked too ma, he said "Do u remember" "As if its 20 saal baad movie" II scoffed

"THAT BOY his training officer... are all here" Appa turned to scan the room

II squirmed

"Who is that?" she asked, she could "guess" who Appa hinted

"Ado, anda paiyan, Makarand" (that boy) he softly hinted

"Ummm" II nodded

"Does Bala know?" Amma asked

"I dont know ma" II said honestly

"He is not part of this family, what is he doing here?" Appa asked

"I will ask him to leave pa" II said bluntly

"Ishitaaa" Amma scolded her

Samyukta came by

"aunty, beti ko thoda time ke liye deejiye please?" Sam begged

Amma was embarrassed, she handed Lasya

"I meant ISHITA" Sam giggled, as if pouring cold water over the explosion that was about to happen
Dragged II away...

Lasya made a face on spotting her Ma and then went back to be a "nose ring catcher"
