What do we exactly think of the Armed Forces of our country today??…what importance do they have in our lives??…

Finding answers to these questions is easy. For the 1^st one we could go like…..hmmmm …lets see…today the armed forces of our country are suffering not only at the hands of the treacherous terrorists….but also from within…..yes, it's the espionage that has deteriorated the standards by which the Indian Army firmly stood and the type of respect it maintained………….

Today India's youth is rising ….coming to terms with these hard core facts…that we are not as safe as we used to be.

They know what they have to fight for….not for changes within the country but also in the safety of the country……

They have realized the changes they want….for the love n bravery that was in the patriots before hasn't died out.

This is the story of 6 young guns….6 young Army Officers who choose to differ…n make ppl understand that with changing times many rules need to change…..n when the safety of the country is at stake…..then a true patriot has to stand up……

"Quis custodiet ipsos custodies?"

Who will guard the guards?

These 6 officers will make you believe in the Armed Forces again…..n in the bravery that we have forgotten we have.

Chapter 1

7 years after our dearest batch of KMA has passed out…..

Army Headquarters, New Delhi..

"Come in", the voice commanded respect….n Capt. Naina Singh Aluwalia knew no better.

"Good morning, Sir", she greeted the man who was with his back to her as she entered the cabin.
"Good morning to you too, Captain", the man replied as he turned arnd. Naina again came face to face with the man she revered the most since she had started her service. Maj. Gen. Malik was a man that ppl knew shudn't be messed with.

" I guess you have the intuition as to why I've called you here. Now do you Capt.?"

"Yes Sir", Naina replied without any hesitation.

"then I believe that you'll answer my question yourself", Gen. said.

"It's about my posting, Sir"

"Good, Captain Singh. You are a fast learner", he spoke as his face broke into a small smile.


He had not met any woman officer like Captain Singh. He had been taken aback when he had sent a word to his Junior Commander-in-Chief for volunteers for a mission in the North Eastern States…..nd wat he saw that out of 400 volunteers for the mission, there was only one woman as a field officer. And yes, it was none other than Lt. Naina Singh Aluwalia. He had questioned her decision to go for the mission but she had been adamant abt it and Gen. malik cudnt have felt better…..
He luved to see the changes the Army was making today….
And after 18 months in the rough terrains of Naga and Mizo Hills and a new promotion and bravery medal on her uniform, Capt. Singh was again standing in front of him to take his next command and execute it with total fervour.

"Capt. Singh, you have been posted at Kargil with the 23rd Battalion of the 3rd Punjab Rifles Regiment", he said. He had been expecting some kind of reaction frm the young officer but on receiving none, he continued,
"You are to report at the Srinagar Headquarters in 2 days….-----"

"But Sir….."

"I know Capt. That it is on short notice but the battalion of the Garhwal Rifles is descending from their checkpost which is being replaced by our regiment. So that's the main reason why your transfer is on such a short notice. I hope it is clear to you.", he said.

"Yes Sir", Naina replied.

"Report to the headquarters on Sunday at 0600 hrs. They will take you the battalion post at an undisclosed location by road."

"Yes Sir."

"You will have to report to Bdgr. Tanna who is the CO there. Your ticket to Srinagar is with my secretary you can collect it frm her."

"that will be all. You can leave.", he said finishing the talk.

"Thank you Sir. Good day to you", Naina said as she turned back to leave. But a voice stopped her.

"Naina, take care"

With those words behind her, she left the office thinking of her new posting. In the 4 yrs of her service, this had to be her most exciting posting after 1 and a half year in north East and last 2 years at the Headquarters…..this posting was really something she was looking forward for.

What she didn't know was what was waiting for in those snowcapped valleys of Kashmir. Love? Betrayal? Friendship? Or even Death?????
