I love to read about the kids antics people post here...Charlie...ur kids seem a handful, actually we should enjoy all these, ofcourse yell at them also, its our right, but sometimes I feel sad seeing them growing so fast...when they are all grown up, they lose their mischeviousness, they start needing u less, start doing their own thing, become independent and start flying on their own...oh I am going to miss them too much.

amirtha...we need translation, I could read but not understand everything.

Yes, I'm doing fine. All the feeling light after the haircut has gone out the window...literally! I left my bedroom window open last night since it was breezy, but it rained heavily and my laptop was on my desk right under the window so it got soaked and is most likely irreparable. New laptop ka pending bill has left me feeling the opposite of light.

oh this younger sisters are similar everywhere...my sis always has this attitude...

I'm sorry to butt in, but couldn't resist myself from posting the translation of the poem..its one of my favourite compositions. I came across randomly and fell in love with it..I'm not a tamilian but now, knowing what it means I m even more in love with it..Hopefully u also love it..

Here's the translation, source is the Internet

The blazing radiance of your eyes, Kannamma

Do the Sun and the Moon derive thence?

The round black pupils of your eyes, Kannamma

Do the dark skies imbibe whence?

The silken saree, hued a midnight blue,

With glittering stones embedded bright;

Are the twinkling stars seen,

In the darkest hour of the night;

A bright floral garden,

Reflects in your lovely smile.

The blue waves of the sea,

Resonates like your heart.

The gay koel's notes

Likens to the sweetness of your voice.

On you, the young maiden, Kannamma

Envelops my encompassing love.

Ideology, that you talk, Kannamma,

You need it not!

For those in a tearing haste, Kannamma,

Credo is sought not!

With the elders assent,

The wedding rites, we shall follow yonder.

How can I wait till then?

Look here!, a kiss on your cheek, I wonder.

Kannamma is poet's muse and I am told he has addressed many of his poems to her.

Here's the musical composition of AR RAHMAN, sung by HARIHARAN, it is from the same movie from which Kannamochi for which II danced in her sangeet!

Most of Bharathi's Kannamma and Nandalala songs are amazing. I started learning to read Tamizh poetry as a teen because i loved the bharathi songs...anothjer favourite is Manadhil urudhi vendum
