" Did I ask anyone to stop what you were asked to do? Continue!" Khushi commanded while her face had blood all over it. The blood of the people who were the causes of her humiliation, her pain and this massacre.
Khushi looked away from Arnav, as she didn't want to meet his eye and break the difficult barriers she erected around her heart, to not allow it to beat for anyone.
She sensed Arnav walking towards her while every part of her body responded to his closeness but her mind chose to remain numb and not act on it.
" Khushi, I know I have no right over you after letting you down so low. But believe me I never wanted to hurt you. I didn't want people to comment more about your purity, being the wife of two brothers. But I should have understood that protecting your honor was more important than thinking about the comments. I cannot even apologize to you, because i know it won't be suffice. Here, take my sword, kill me and grant me forgiveness Khushi. because every second without your forgiveness is like an eon in the hell. Please free me from this pain Khushi. Please confer this last favor onto me." Arnav knelt down in front of Khushi, while the head which never bowed in front of anyone had bowed down to reach the ground.
No answer came from Khushi's side much to his surprise. He looked up to see her facial expressions, to see that they were of shock, of pain and of uncertainty. Her silence was killing him from within while a request left his lips,
" Shout out a punishment for me, Khushi. Curse me, do whatever you want but please don't stay quiet. Your silence kills me more easily than any weapon ever can." Khushi shut her eyes firmly to avoid tears to flow out from her eyes, but a painful yelp from Arnav's mouth, made her eyes flung open to find a dagger pierced in Arnav's chest exactly where his heart was, the heart which beats for her and pines for her.
" ARNAV!" Khushi rushed to him forgetting every complaint, every pain of hers, as she pulled out the dagger from his chest and shouted,
" Someone summon the royal physician. Who did this?"
Khushi's voice had the fear of losing the person whom she loved the most, while Arnav's breaths were staggered as if they would stop any moment.
" I did it. I did it to avenge the death of my son, which took place brutally right in front of my eyes. Now this invincible warrior too will breathe his last." Satya laughed evilly while Khushi fumed like the goddess of destruction herself. Being an amazing warrior herself, Khushi threw the same dagger while Satya had thrown at her love while targeting his throat and as always, the dagger reached its target while it reached the other side with a force that Satya was nailed against a wall with a dagger that had almost beheaded him.
" Arnav, nothing will happen to you. I will not let anything happen to you. Look at me, please. Don't close your eyes." Khushi begged to Arnav, as his eyes tried to droop to never open ever again. The warrior was now fighting for his life with the death, not for himself but for his love, with whom he wanted to unite and in whose lap he was resting.
" Please f---fo--rgii--vee me, Khushi." Even with those last few breaths remaining in him, he pined for her forgiveness while spurts of tears escaped her eyes just as that of blood escaped from his wound.
" Don't leave me, Arnav. You have promised me in the presence of fire, that you will never leave me. You cannot break your promise. You will have to live for me, for our son. ARRE KOI VAIDYA JI KOI BULAO!!" Khushi begged the soldiers to summon the doctor, which they had obeyed but will the death obey the empress' words?
" I -ll--oove you, Khushi. Please don't hate me." Arnav pleaded her while her hot tears washed his face and he held her hands in between his. He knew that his breaths would stop any moment and he wanted a last assurance from his love, his wife that she would not hate him after he was gone.
" I love you, Arnav. I can never hate you. I never can." Arnav cupped her face with her one palm and tried bringing her close to him as she bent down while tears flowed down from the eyes, which had all of the determination washed away. Arnav placed a light kiss on her forehead, as a satisfactory smile adorned his face as his hand left her face and fell down lifelessly.
"ARNAV!!!!" Khushi let out a nerving shout, as she jerked Arnav trying to bring back to life. No soldier dared to stop her and there was no one else who could stop her.
After two minutes of hysterical crying, she spoke,
" If you don't complete your promise, then I will Arnav. Even I had promised to never leave you and I will not break it. "
Khushi pulled out the dagger in the sheath attached to Arnav's waist and pierced it in herself, while pain took over her mercilessly. Ignoring the pain, she held Arnav's lifeless hand in her own and said,
" I am coming to you, Arnav."
She dropped down lifelessly just above Arnav's heart, while his blood adorned her partition like the vermilion, marking her his forever and for every life time and even in the death.
Kishore came with a blood stained face after killing Shyam in the most ruthless way possible to avenge his sister-like Khushi's insult, to see the corpses of the two most important people of his life, united and separated by love.
He was somewhere aware that it would happen but still it hurt him. It pulled the strings of his heart, to see the extent of their love for each other.
" You both will be reborn to complete your incomplete love story, Arnav and Khushi. You will be reborn and this is my promise to you both. And for the rebirth of this magnificent kingdom, your son, your sign of love will rule it while you both will be born in the same land, with the same names and the same intense love which tied you both to each other." Nand Kishore's solemn voice resonated in the grief-stricken halls of the royal hall, which had seen death, humiliation like never before, while the destiny had rewritten it according to the words of Nand Kishore, the incarnation of the Almighty himself.
