He did none of that

He totally struggled to move on, holding on to an image of Malcha Marg that no longer existed, while trying to cut himself off by living in Paris and dating an older woman, he also did not have the courage to find the truth, fearing he may not like what he may find

We are all so weak in many ways, yet display tremendous courage at the most unexpected times.
