For some reason, this Buaji is one of the most vivid characters in my mind. 😆 She's highly amusing, and actually quite adorable- but Meera is by far the most endearing, and even more so because she's read Amar Chitra Katha- you know how much I love those?! Ahh, sigh, I've spent many a night devouring those books.

I love Arnav's determination, as I've said before- "he was prepared this time". There is something that very much draws me to this Arnav- he has a certain charm, but not one that comes off as an a-hole, you know? And he's incredibly hot- white polo shirt and jeans? Sigh.

Whenever you put Arnav and Khushi together in a room, it's magic. You've woven their chemistry so... effortlessly. I feel as if I'm intruding sometimes, when I read the two of them together.

The moment when Khushi studies him not-so-surreptitiously is one such moment. They aren't even talking, but the way she studies him makes me feel like I shouldn't be there reading about her studying him, giving her privacy 😆

I loved the way you had Khushi break down in his arms. Maybe he is "just a friend", but there is something decidedly intimate about your face turning a bright red, and ugly tears splashing down your face. To cry in front of someone, and not just cry, but take comfort in their embrace... is something that most people only do with those they trust with their emotions.

And whether Khushi likes it or not, Arnav seems to be that one person for her right now- he's determined to be. Ah! Now I'm excited once more for all the possibilities they offer.

Love always,
G.

P.S.: How are your notes as poetic as your chapters?

Khushi, Meera, me - I am sure you can add every reader of this chapter to that list. The list of those that ended up with watery eyes at the end. As a matter of fact, I do not mind Khushi's and Meera's tears at all. Especially these ones that have the salts mixed from the sadness of the past and the hope of future. I actually see those watering the seeds of their future happiness.

M, I have to say that somehow you have figured out a way to make excellence into a habit. Starting with the wink to the tears at the end, it was a joy to read all the way.

It's hard not to fall in love with someone like Meera. I am sure that wink has melted the hearts of many readers and even the mighty ASR never had a chance. Her gift was so perfect and for me it represents a remembrance of the past and a wish of the future. I can now say without a doubt that she is the bridge connecting both Khushi and Arnav and she is the one they need as much as she needs them.

Buaji - I am sure we come across many in our real world who talk like her but it would be hard to find someone like her who has the knack of saying the right things at the right time. I think I will be invariably searching for her also from here on.

The walk in the sun was a stroll to remember. And Khushi remembered the lips of all. Now, next time you have to give us more than a peek into their past. I liked the way you interlaced Khushi's inner voice with her talk. It was a nice way to be in Khushi's inner loop.

Every bit of what Arnav did was perfect including the assurances and the depiction of Khushi's state of mind cannot be any more perfect knowing that she still got one foot in the past.

The impromptu group hug, I think I am and will be reveling in this outburst for a while now. For Khushi, there was so much to say, so much to feel and so much to let go and that one hug said a lot more than that. And for Arnav, for all the thing he could say, his one whisper of "Khushi" said everything he has to say.

Lastly, I think your opening and closing statements are pure poetry. Please do not worry about the pace or the schedule or the asliduniya. No matter what it is, with us, you will always get "second chances".

MB, sorry for the late unres. Weekends are always crazy.

Change - Everything in this world is always in constant motion. Right from the biggest galaxies to the smallest quarks, everything keeps moving, everything keeps changing. Nothing is stagnant. Change is an inherent quality of who we are.

The winds of change have already started blowing in Khushi and Meera's life.

Looks like Meera is welcoming these winds of change with open arms. I loved how after giving the book, she asked if they could read it together. I love the cute friendship she has formed with her ASR.

How long is Khushi going to resist this change?? I can understand that emotions and feelings dont change so rapidly like physical things. But I also hope that Khushi takes a small step towards that change like her daughter.

Arnav has a long job cut ahead of him if he wants to have Khushi in his life. And this time I hope he kills all the demons in Khushi's mind and maker her his forever.

I hope Manorama is not the 70s type of bollywood mother-in-law who would not want her widowed bahu to marry again.

Oh M... once again you did it again, but then I am not surprised. You have such magic, that gets a reader hooked from the very first to last word. So you see my dear, no matter the pace, we are in with you till the end. And I am enjoying every bit of it!

Coming to the update, Meera is such an amazing little girl, that one hopes she smiles, winks and is forever happy. We can all agree she has had enough sadness in her life to last a life time. Truly a remarkable girl, and I love her!

Meera and Mohan, I actually love the names, and the fact you have you used them. A wonderful coincidence, and I bet these two will be great of friends. It seems Mohan can use an infleuence like Meera around him. They say kids are resilient, and these two together will prove it. I truly can't wait to see them together!

Ahhh Arnav and Khushi, their every interaction in this update flowed so well. I am loving Arnav's determination, and the steps he is taking to ensure he gets his second chance. And while Khushi still thinks of him as a friend, it's apparent the old feelings are still there somewhere hidden deep inside. Her breaking down in his arm, had me in tears feeling her pain, and finally she had a shoulder to lean on.

An update that has my emotions all over the place... awesome job 👏

Made it I hope?

The moue can be retracted 😆

"Sometimes it's worth lingering on the journey for a while before getting to the destination" - Richelle Mead, and that's where I am with your story Mirabell.

Meera entrusting Arnav with her favourite book was so telling of her instinctive trust in him. That he will be able to help her understand "the theory of everything" she comes across. The trust which is apparent when she reaches out to him as she sees her mother break down. It was heartbreaking seeing Khushi like that, but she needed to let it out. All those emotions swirling inside her coupled with jet lag imploding those carefully constructed defences. A profoundly moving scene. I love how every hug in your story is so meaningful, whichever of the characters are party to it.

I can't wait to meet Mohan properly. Arnav's wistfulness at his son not being able to enjoy a sense of the ridiculous was moving to read. Whether it be "serendipity" or "sagaciousness", I can't wait for Meera and Mohan to meet. For her to shower all that love her heart holds, on him.

Arnav's resolute determination, and much more' is going to be needed to show Khushi that she doesn't "have to do this alone" and that he is more than "just a friend". Symbolically, "the willow belongs to the beginning of spring, when all of life is stirring in the depths and begins to shoot outwards once again." Will she open her heart or be a "whomping willow" guarding it fiercely ...

PS: Amar Chitra Kathas are absolutely the best way to be introduced to our rich history!

PPS: "That awkwardness stood sentinel to the time that they needed to bridge" - one of my favourite lines in an update once again peppered with such gems.
