Hey MB,
Second chances started gripping my attention from chapter 3 or so...and with each update, the writing style improves, captures, demands, commands my love...Of course my initial reservations was because there was a loss of a dearly loved one...I am a very emotional person (i feel so deeply for fictional characters too) Hence I wasn't sure should I go on reading or not...but then the title "Second chances" is too important for me to ignore. You didn't disappoint me. In fact with each passing update my admiration for your story telling ability is increasing...
You have crafted the scene at Raizada home very beautifully...especially the interaction of those two children...it was warm and touching...And Khushi -Arnav, whatever was the past, it cant be forgotten or put aside...when you suppress it comes back more forcefully...I think Khushi would have to deal with it...Arnav is already determined...I suggest he has that kind of strong determination in Mohan's future too. Of course, when there is someone to share such an emotional pressure, his will be able to make peace with it than bearing it all alone...
Khushi is very much a normal girl, with fears, insecurities and yearning...Her fear to take risk is very realistic...As you rightly said some people are skeptical about new relationships, new beginnings...it takes a lot for them to deal such challenges...I hope their travel together would be a good beginning...
