I have goosebumps and it has been a while I promise.

You wondered once if there was anything similar between our writings. I wish, my friend. I really wish.

It is nice to see Arnav happy and hopeful. He has already made peace with his fate (lost love, failed marriage, autistic child) and is ready to accept a relationship. Kushi is not there yet even though the people around her are ready for her to move on and live a little for herself. She is stuck in the guilty feeling of not being a good widow if she decides to live a little for herself. She understands she has no choice but to go on for there are 2 people depending on her. There is nothing worse than that feeling of obligations tying you down but this is all in her head and is not being expected of her. Of all people, her mil is trying to tell her that it is ok to go and be herself but she shut her down. Just like she is trying to shut down Arnav and his hopes. I wonder if Arnav is not setting his expectations too high because until she opens up to change, he will be disappointed and will be rejected. He is doing a good job at trying to bring down the walls around her though and definitely deserves brownie points for not giving up and for being persistent.

That was a great update...
So.. Meera fell in love with her present husband after she she gave birth to Mohan and was suffering from postpartum depression.. Arnav was looking after both Meera and their Son... I really appreciate the way Arnav accepted Meera's love and let her go..May be there was always a thick great friendship between Meera and Arnav more than love...while Khushi and NK shared both love and friendship.. Here I am not comparing their marriages..but its just what I felt the kind of bond they shared in their marriage..
I belivev not many married couple are in love through out the marriage, generally..irrespective of the fact they had love marriage or arranged.. Any couple who have friendship or love or both in their married lives are the most fortunate ones... Arnav and Khushi were lucky to have it while they remained married..and now I only long to seek each other for the happiness of not just them but their kids as well..

Arnav did not tell Khushi about Mohan's autism.. Mohan needs to be prepared for the visit I guess.. I feel if any kid understand Mohan, Meera definitely can... She is mature and compassionate child.. I can't wait for their interaction...

Was there a label for such relationships when a decade's worth of silence didn't mute their connection.

Yes there is. But slavery to labels does not do justice to the magic of life.
Just like no adjectives I can find would do justice to the magic of your words.

Too good.
Nani is happy to see arnav in a good mood...being carefree and tension free.
Her concern for Mohan is completely understandable.
Manorama understands Khushi better then her own self. She can see how reacts to arnav and would want her to accept him in her life. But Khushi is not ready for this step yet and so she does not push her luck further.
The text-talk between Khushi and arnav was so natural. Both of them being their old self.
Wonder how Khushi and meera will react when they see Mohan.
Continue soon

Lovely story, tugs at the heartstrings. I am reminded of a friend who met with me just before she re-married years back. She had teen kids and had just come out of a bad marriage. We talked about second chances and how happiness was a birthright for everyone who walked on this earth. She needed to hear the words and I was glad I could reassure her.
Manorama is a gem of a mother (I wouldn't even use the word in-law here) - if only women had such in-laws the world would be a happier place :) Of course then the television soap operas would have to shut shop!

You both ensure that there is a veritable cornucopia of excellent writing for our delectation :)

Naani sitting in her particular place resonated very emotionally with me. Our elders do that and when they're gone, it's actually really difficult to sit in that place. In your mind, it's theirs. It's strange how space becomes a memory of that person. I hope Naani does get to see the happiness she seeks for her grandchild.

I really like the way you've written Arnav and Maya's relationship. The care and regard they have for the other, and the acceptance you've shown is so positive. To be able to retrieve that friendship they started with, after the breakdown of a marriage takes a lot of determination. And Arnav is now going to need all that determination to make Khushi open up to him.

Such a beautiful analysis of the sound of silence, MB. The sort that cocoons you in its warmth, the sort that tears through clawing at you.

As I have often told you, I love your Manorama. She herself is really "cool", I think! I find her genuine desire to see her daughter in law's future being a happy one very moving.

After ten days you said? ... sigh ...
