Chapter 4

Kriya's House

Kriya: "Mom mujhe apse kuch kehna hai"

Smriti: "haan bolo"

Kriya: "Mom humsab ko goa jana hoga...kyunki hum finals ke liye qualify hogaye hai India fest wale hamme waha ek special performance ke liye invite kiya hai."

Smriti gets angry at her words and,

"Kriya firse dance..."

She's cut by Kriya,

"Mom please pehle mere puri baat toh sunlo...uske baad app jaise kahogi waise hi hoga"

Smriti nods a yes asking Kriya to continue,

"Mom main waha dance karne nahi par mere friends ko support karne ke liye jana chahati hoon. Main abhi unhe nahi bata sakti ki main dance chod rahi hoon...bataungi toh who sad hojayenge and teek se perform nahi karenge...yeh sabke liye bohut badi opportunity hai mom...aur main nahi chahti ki isme koyi gadbad ho...waise apko mere friends ke dance se koyi aitraaz nahi haina"

She looks at her mom, "And Mom I promise ki main waha perform nahi karungi, kisi bahane se performance skip karlungi and jaise performance katam hojayega main sabko sach batadungi...pakka promise...ab please mujhe jane dijiye na...plz mom trust me main is baar apna promise nahi todungi"

Smriti thinks for a while, and decides to let Kriya go coz if she denies her Kriya would further get upset but being with her friends would at least keep her cheered up.

Smriti: "Teek hai kriya, tum goa jaa sakti ho par apna promise yaad rakhna"

Kriya feels happy, hugs her mom and thanks her.

Kriya starts packing her bags and her mom tries helping her.

As she's helping her, her mom tries to start a conversation as Kriya hasn't spoken to her properly since the promise.

Smrit: "So Kriya tumlog goa sirf fest pe perform karne ja rahe hai ya waha toda bohut gumne ka bhi plan hai"

Kriya gives a stern reply saying, "Gumne ka koyi plan nahi hai...fest do din ka hai, usse attend karenge aur laut jayenge"

Smriti: "Par pehli baar sab saat ja rahe toh ek do din enjoy bhi kar sakte te right"

Kriya: "Enjoy kar sakte te par mood hoto tab na...aap ko kya lagta hai, mere dance chodne se mere friends kush hojayenge aur hum masti karenge?"

"Kya haina mom aap nahi samjenge, apko toh bas meri dance chudwani hai, aur kuch nahi...you know agar main dance kar pati toh hum sab kitna kush hote te iss opportunity se, dance hi meri kushi hai mom uske bina mein kabhi enjoy nahi kar paungi...aur aap yeh kabhi nahi samaj payenge"

Kriya's eyes start welling up, she angrily starts stuffing her bag.

Her Mom gets irritated with Kriya's remarks,

"Tum aur tumhare dad, dono ko dance ke alva kuch dikta bhi nahi, dance dance dance, baki sab jaye baad mein"

Kriya is shocked, it's the first time ever her mom has mentioned her dad. She moves towards her mom and asks,

"Mom dad, da...dancer te?"

Her mom gives her a surprised look and immediately realizes what she just did, she tries to dodge her question by saying,

"Wo sab chodo, tum apna packing katam karke sojao main tumhe kal college tak drop kardungi"

Saying this, her mom left the room even before Kriya could utter a word.

For the first time in years Kriya felt somewhere close to understanding why her mom despised dance...but there were only questions and no answers to be found, her dad was a dancer, but how did that make her hate dance, was dance the reason for their fallout? Where was her dad, still somewhere out dancing?

She knew nothing about her dad, and the only way to know was to ask her mom... she needs to know, she can't stay in dark forever...deciding to talk to her mom about this after her return from goa she finishes her packing and goes to sleep.

Next Morning

Rey was pacing up and down in his room, worry return all over his face. Finally stopping still near the window he takes out his phone and dials a number deciding to end his dilemma.

Rey: "Hello Swayam tu kaha hai?"

Rey says this in a bit tensed and confused tone.

Swayam replies calmly, "Main ghar pe hoon, Kyun kuch kaam tha?"

Rey: "Haan wo tu free hai kya, actually mujhe tujhse kuch baat karni thi..."

Swayam: "Kya baat karni thi...bolona...kuch important?"

Rey: "Important toh hai, par kya tum abhi mujhe hamari wali jagah par mil sakte ho...phir wahi se hum saat main chalte hai"

Swayam: "Rey kuch important hai toh phone pe hi bata do warna college mein milte hai...mera packing abhi tak hua nahi"

Rey: "Oh, teek hai koyi baat nahi seede college pe milte hai...wahi bataunga"

Swayam: "Haan mujhe bhi tumse kuch kehena tha"

Rey: "Haan bol kya kehna tha"

Swayam: "Wo..."

By then he was interrupted, Amar and Bharat enter his room and,

Bharat: "Bhai tera abhi tak hua nahi, jana bhi hai ya nahi"

Swayam: "Arre Bharat bus hogaya...ek min, (speaking into the phone) Rey tujhse baad main baat karta hoon, chal bye"

Rey: "Okay chal college mein milte hain...bye"

Swayam cuts the call and with the help of Bharat and Amar he completes his packing and all leave to college.

At The College

Everyone gathers except Kriya nad Neha.

Vishaka: "Hey Swayam did you call Kriya or Neha? What's wrong with them, aaj bhi late?"

Swayam: "I called Neha this morning, usne bola who aur Kriya saat main ayenge, Kriya ki mom unhe drop karegi, athe hi honge"

Vishaka: "Hmmm okay, then let's get in"

Everyone gets into the mini bus and get seated. Sharon was sitting alone, lost in her thoughts, dull and upset so unlike Sharon.

Rey and Swayam were seated together. Swayam observes Sharon and thinks maybe he should sit next to her, she might feel better and gets up from his seat.

Rey: "Where r u going?"

Swayam: " Rey kuch nahi who, Sharon itni upset hai toh socha uske saat bait jau"

Rey looks at Sharon and thinks this would be right for them, so just gives a nod to Swayam. As Swayam crosses across him he thinks, "Yeh dono ek dusre ko itna achi tarse samjte hai, jante bhi hai. They even trust each other, Kriya kya tumne mujhe kabhi trust kiya tha?"

Just then Kriya enters the bus with Neha. As she entered his gaze got fixed on her, as he adored her cute little face an unknown smile crept on his face. He was brought back to reality by Neha's voice.

Neha: "Kriya we late coming sare seats filled hai"

Kriya: "Hmm sare seats nahi...waha dekh tere dewane ke paas"

Neha blushes as she sees Vicky waiting for her, "But Kriya tum kaha baitogi?"

"Don't worry Neha main peeche bait jaungi" saying this Kriya looks around to find an empty seat.

By then Neha spots an empty seat and, "Kriya you sitting there, next to Rey"

Hearing this Kriya's eyes go wide and both (Kriya and Rey) say it in unison, "NO WAY" and both look at each other shooting glares at one and other.

Neha: "Kriya go na, already we coming late so adjust karna"

Rey somewhere did want this but he wasn't ready to give in either, he turns to Vicky and almost yells at him, "Vicky tu idhar aja and un dono ko saat main baitne de"

Vicky is surprised at Rey's tone, "WTH Rey, main 2 hrs pehle aya tha mere aur meri dewani ke liye seat pakadne taki hum ek saat bait sake, ab main adjust nahi karnewala"

Hearing this Neha blushes and Rey gives an unbelievable look to Vicky and, "Sachme tu aaj kal itna drama karne laga haina" He was cut by the driver, "Tum logon ko baitna hai ya nahi, hum already 30 mins lake hochuke hai, aise hi chalta raha na aur bohut derr hojayegi, uff aaj kal ke bache bhi na ek seat ke liye itna hungama"

Neha and Kriya look at the driver widening their eyes by then Sharon speaks, "God these weaklings can never change. Hum goa ja rahe hai, bus main ghar nahi basa rahe hai okay and Rey tub hi...plz adjust karna"

Finally giving up Kriya walks towards Rey and Neha gets seated by Vicky. As Kriya approached Rey shifted to the window side.

Kriya sees this and gets frustrated, "WTH Rey that's my place main waha baitungi"

Rey: "Oh hello Miss. Dehradun yaha main pehle aya tha so I will sit where ever I want, no arguments tumhe yahi baitna hoga"

Kriya: "kyun abhi tak aap yaha baite the na, mere ate hi waha chale gaye. Waise waha par apka naam nahi likha hai so plz just back off"

Rey: "Yeh joke tha? HAHA...main bhi yahi keh raha hoon waha tumhari naam nahi likha hai so plz" and he points her to get seated next to him.

Kriya: "Rey maine kaha na main baitungi toh window seat par hi"

Rey: "Oh main nahi utne wala, so agar tum chahte ho toh goa tak aise hi kadi raho"

Kriya: "Okay...fine!Your wish, agar tum chahte ho ki main tum par hi vomit karu toh main kya karu?"

Everyone in the bus "Ewwwe"

Swayam hits his head and, "In dono ka kuch nahi hosakta hai"

Rey was about to say something but Swayam cuts him, "Tum dono adjust karke baitogi ya phir hum sab milkar tum dono ko bahr phenk de"

Kriyaansh turn towards Swayam in the hope of defending themselves.

Rey: "Swayam kya bol raha hai tu, dekna..."

He's cut by Kriya, "Swayam maine kuch nahi kiya, yeh sab inki galti hai" and she pouts.

Rey turns towards Kriya and, "Oh hello excuse me, this is all your fault, har cheez ke liye bak bak bak bak bak bak..."

Swayam gets frustrated by their never ending banter, "SHUT UP, CHUP BILKUL CHUP!"

Kriyaansh are shocked at Swayam's tone but it definitely got their attention and did end their banter.

Swayam: "Tum dono ek hi tarah ho, ab iske age kisine bhi kuch bhi bola na then I promise mujhse bura koyi nahi hoga, and now settle down and keep silence"

Rey moves and gives way to Kriya and Kriya settles down in the window seat. Both spared each other a look and then turned away.

~~~Kriya's pov~~~

"Thank god Rey is behaving normally, at least he's fighting with me like old days, not sad, depressed and hyper. I hope just like this everything goes well and team bhhi manjaye, Universji plz mere saat dena"

Hoping for the best she leans back in her seat and shuts her eyes.

~~~Rey's pov~~~

"Jhuti kahiki, vomiting really? Excursion trip mein toh aisa kuch nahi tha, kitne sare gane ga ga ke masti kar rahi thi ab just for the window seat...Gosh!"

He sighs and looks at her and finds her already sleeping.

"But now nothing is like before, every damn thing has changed! Pata nahi teri saat bait kar khush hojau ja sad...Itna sab kuch hone ke baad tumhare saat normally kaise behave karu? Yeh bhi nahi pata ki tumne kabhi mereliye kuch feel kiya tha bhi nahi...hmm kya karu main Kriya, teri baat ko manlu ya meri dil ki sunnu"

Leaning back in his seat he puts an end to these thoughts where he'd never find peace and shuts his eyes hoping to find some sleep.
