Before proceeding to the teaser for the next chapter, do go through this note.

Many of you readers had questioned me as to why Arnav was being kept in dark about Khushi's reality. These were the few points that I considered (in no particular order) while drafting past few chapters:

• It is just 3 days (though it covers from chapters 5-12) since Arnav and Khushi have met each other and the interaction between them is minimal to talk about anything substantial other than official stuff.
• No one anticipates such bad situation to arise and since it was more than 6 months they had any news with regard to the murders. Hence members of both the families have let the matter in Shashank's hand.
• I wanted to establish a good if not at least a moderate level of comfort between Arnav, Khushi & the children, before he could know that Khushi is his long lost friend and her difficulties. If this level of comfort arises after their identities are disclosed, then this wonderful budding relationship can be mis-interpreted (especially by Khushi) as the one arising due to pity or just in the name of their parent's friendship. I certainly don't want that to happen.
• Besides, we as readers can know that Arnav is the only one who could soothe Khushi and not anyone else. So we can't expect the family to know about them so early.
• Another crucial thing is Arnav is not completely aloof to Khushi's distressed state, if anything he can feel her pain and surely wants to help her, despite their very limited interactions. The Mc Donald's incident is an example for that.
• My intention was certainly not to make Khushi suffer alone, while Arnav is totally ignorant to her pain. I apologize for this lack of peripheral vision for giving out such notions in the chapter.
• And yes Arnav will be livid when the truth comes out. But I think we can wait for his response.
• Some characters in this FF will have their entry & exit points after their work is done. I will certainly not keep them, unnecessarily dragging this FF with pointless updates.

Hope these have clarified many of the doubts. I really like when my wonderful readers point out the loops, and I do enjoy replying them as well. Well here is the teaser for the next chapter, which will be up by tomorrow night.

Chapter -13 Shocks & Surpries

Monday Morning Gupta Nivas

"So packed your lunch box? And breakfast? Are you skipping it?" asked Payal

"Oh ho jiji, I've packed my lunch box and for breakfast, I'll have it in office canteen," said Khushi.

Payal nodded at that and Khushi after getting ready kissed her nieces and jiji good bye and started for office at around 6:45 am.

Shanthivan (around 6:30 am)

"Chote, then your breakfast?" asked a concerned Ratna.

"No worries Ma, I'll have something in the canteen. Just inform dad about it. He was in shower when I went to inform him," replied Arnav and drove off to his office, totally unaware what this day would present to him.
