Thank you for dedicating this chapter to us - the reader's of DND! We're honored to be part of this journey & to read a story of this caliber.
At the risk of repeating myself, Sandhya, you are an amazing writer.I say this, not for this chapter, but for the entire story of DND, so far. The intensity with which you portray the emotions of the protagonists, is just beautiful. What is also wonderful is your description of the places where the story unfolds - be it Nainital, Singapore, Delhi or Goa.
Coming to this specific update: what Arjun Malik did was despicable, but what was scarier was the cold blooded acceptance of this fate, by the women of that era - be it Ahalya, in her helplessness over such a husband, be it Nirmala, in her submission or Greeshma, in her destiny.
I would not blame Ahalya, Arjun was a man, not a dog that could be tied to a leash. If not Greeshma, then he would have found another prey! Neither would I judge Greeshma - she chose the life of her father over her own principles - and that could not have been an easy decision! What pains me thought, is that eventually, her dad passed away - well, life is unfair!
My guess about the baby, would sway heavily towards Anjali:
1. Throughout the narrative, there was never a mention of an existing baby in Ahalya's life - when she was visiting her ill father or when she was faking her pregnancy.
2. The fact that she faked her pregnancy, is proof enough that she did not have an existing baby - and that's why her mother & husband supported her decision.
3. There is a considerable age difference between Anjali & Ana - if this baby is Ana (assumption 1), then it means Shashi's first wife(assumption 2), gave birth to Khushi, when she was also 19-20 yrs(assumption 3)..too many assumptions which makes me think that the baby was Anjali.
Where do Arnav-Khushi stand, once this is out, would be interesting to read. My guess af course, is that Arnav this time will stand by Khushi & prove to Garima, that his love is stronger than anything else in the world.
You know what Sandy, maybe you could make our life easier by just posting the next update, a little earlier.
No pressure really, just saying :)
Until next time then
Cheers,
Ruta
