Harry Potter and the Return of Voldemort: edited the post on page 32 - Page 22

Superb part.

The next morning, when most of the students had left and the Castle stood silent, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny and Tom sat in Harry's office discussing their next move.

"How can I help?" Tom asked them once all of them settled down.

"Actually, you're the only one that can help." Ron answered.

"We need to find Riddle to know who has been serving him for 20 years." Harry explained.

"And snuff him." Ron added as all four them looked at him open mouthed. "Well, he would very well deserve it if you ask me. He's practically been bringing up Voldemort's next of kin, no offence." He added to Tom who grinned.

"None taken. But I don't know where to find Riddle. I told you, he doesn't trust me. I don't even know where he lives."

"We know, but you can find him. He wrote to you the last time you met him by the Hogs Head. If you write to him, will he not answer?" Hermione asked.

"I don't know." Tom replied. "I have never written to him save once when I called him by the Hogs Head and even that was a reply to his note. If I write to him suddenly, he would suspect something's wrong. He knows I would never call upon him for anything."

"Then we need to give you a reason to do so." Ginny replied.

"And I know just the thing." Dumbledore put in from his portrait. All eyes turned towards him. "The reason will be Harry. Tom will call Riddle to meet him and tell him that he had found out he had been right and that Harry had killed their father unjustly and he, in his anger had killed Harry and run away from Hogwarts as everyone was looking for him. And when he couldn't find anywhere to go he had called upon his only hope, his brother whom before he had overlooked for the likes of Harry Potter but now he understood better."

"I can't kill Harry!" Tom had suddenly stood up and nearly shouted at Dumbledore.

All four of Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny burst out laughing.

"Trust me, no one will let you." Ginny smiled patting his shoulder as he sat down.

Tom sat down quite embarrassed.

Dumbledore continued. "You just have to say it. And back it up with a fake memory. The rest will depend on your occlumency."

"Can yours rival his?" Harry asked.

"Yes." Tom replied.

"I can plant the fake memory." Hermione added confidently.

"Where will I call him?" Tom asked.

"Private Drive." Harry suggested.

"Why?" Tom asked.

"Because it's safe. It's a muggle street. Riddle's not going to perform any kind of magic there, right?" Ginny replied looking at Harry who nodded silently.

"When do we do it?" Tom asked.

They all exchanged looks. Planting a memory was easy, Hermione could do it within minutes. The real question of when' mattered only within the context of whether Tom was ready to do this.

"Whenever you are ready." Harry replied.

"I am all up for it." He replied.

"There's danger in it for you!" Hermione exclaimed. She wanted him to understand that since they had all seen what Riddle was capable of.

"May be so. But I know one thing for sure. I don't know why, but Riddle doesn't want to kill me, not even to avenge Voldmeort. On the eve of Halloween, he could have easily overpowered me and gotten to you." Tom nodded to Harry. "But he knew if he did, he would still find me in his way and he would have to kill me to get to you. He didn't want to do that, so he decided to leave and asked me to not to stop him. I don't just believe all this, I know this, he wasn't using occlumency and because of the curse I couldn't either. Our minds were open to each other and somehow we were both able to understand more than what was said, almost as if, it was being said. So, trust me, I know for sure. He's not going to kill me."

They decided Tom would leave that very night. Dumbledore suggested that Harry, Ginny, Ron and Hermione should accompany him under the disillusionment charm.

"I know we can't see through your disillusionment charms." Tom nodded to Harry. "But Riddle was able to sense you even though he hadn't been able to see you. He told me by the Hogs Head. He knew the four of you had followed me."

"But how?" Hermione asked. "Both your powers are the same, aren't they?"

"Generally, yes. But I haven't asked him what else he's learned from the faithful servant of the Dark Lord along the way. I haven't exactly been chatting to him. He's probably been indulging in Dark, forbidden magic. Nothing else, could rival what you have." Tom turned to Harry.

Harry nodded. Although, he was reluctant to let Tom leave alone, he knew the discovery of the man serving Riddle was much more important. "Remember, you will feed him the lie as planned, then you will ask him for sanctuary. Once at his dwelling you will find whoever has been living with him, capture them if you can, and return right back home and that too before the break of dawn. If you are late, we will be compelled to assume the worst."

Tom nodded, hugged him and was about to leave when Hermione stopped him.

"Wait!"

Tom turned back to her and froze as she had pulled her wand out on him again. Before he could stop her, she had shouted, "Relashio!".Tom grabbed her hand pulled her towards him falling backwards nearly crashing into the door as her curse deflected just passing her and tearing Harry's curtains.

"Hermione, what the hell was all that about?!" Ron exclaimed as Harry pulled her and Tom back to their feet.

Tom who had taken full impact of the fall got up massaging his head."Are you alright?" He asked her politely.

"Yes." She answered. "I thought you knew!" She advanced on him angrily.

He backed off. "What was I supposed to have known?"

"Don't you know? Access the memory I planted, will you?"

Tom took a moment then understood what she had meant. "You should have mentioned. I would have let my guard down."

"Are you alright?" Harry asked. "Why would you let your guard down?"

"I think he is, Harry." Ginny had understood before anyone else had. She turned to Hermione, now it was her turn to back off. "You added an offence against Tom in the memory, didn't you?"

"I had to, hadn't I?" Hermione replied frantically. "He's supposed to have killed Harry. Do you think any of us would let him escape without so much as a scratch?!"

"She's right." Tom seconded her. "Even Riddle would have been surprised. Do it now. It won't deflect."

Hermione raised her wand again. "Relashio!"

A deep gash appeared on Tom's chest, tearing his shirt and turning it red slowly. He had again fallen backwards, but before he fell, Harry caught him. He straightened up, nodded to all of them and left.

Thank you!!! 😃 The classes were rather hard to write since I was afraid I wouldn't repeat anything that had already been written by Rowling. 😛 And yes, James and Peter are total mess makers! 😃 And yes, Tom has longed for this relationship for years 😊 I admire your ability to see through Tom's character. I was going to mention this fact later in the updates but you are beginning to understand Tom very well 😛😊😃 I hope you enjoy the way the new characters develop and reveal more of themselves in future updates too! 😃
