Hello people. I am here to post the last update of this story as well as present the banner to you. Yes, I know banners are put up during the initial stages of a story but I'm a bit different from the rest. 😛 The credits for the banner goes to Akanksha aka Effacious. Here's the last part. This one is dedicated to Asma. Happy belated birthday Asma 🤗

Part 52:

Finally the much awaited 20th September arrived. As the clock struck twelve, every one wished Kriya with smiles on their faces, but this smile was only short lived. It was a day containing happiness and sadness as well. But nobody could help it. It was all in the hands of destiny. But one thing that Rey had decided that he will hurt none out of Payal and Kriya. Both of them are equally important to him.

"Daddy will we go out and celebrate mommy's birthday??" Asked an excited Kaira.

"Umm, not really, but we will celebrate in the house because daddy got some other plans for your Mommy." He replied with a smile.

"Can I join in too?" She asked with hope in her eyes.

"I'm sorry sweetheart, but it's just Mommy and daddy tonight. But I promise this Sunday daddy will take you out to the fair."

"Promise?"

"Promise, now go get ready. We have to start Payal mom's Pooja ceremony."

"Okay." She replied with a small smile.

After a half hour, everyone assembled in the living room except Kriya. They weren't sure if Kriya would come or not. But she surprised everyone by descending the stairs, clad in a white saree.

"Kriya, are you sure you want to come with us?" Preeti asked.

"Yes, I'm sure Maa. I really want to come with you. And trust me, I am fine." Kriya replied.

"Pandit ji, please shuru ki jiye." Dadi bua asked the priest to begin the pooja. Rey sat in the front along with Kaira. While they were performing all the rituals Kriya questioned Preeti.

"Maa, why doesn't Kaira talk about Payal nor address her as her mother?"

"Kaira was only about a year when Payal expired. She only knows that Payal is her mother who gave her birth. She has very vague memories with Payal and so she doesn't talk about Payal anymore."

The pooja was successfully completed. And like every year, Rey spent some time alone with Payal in their room. Respecting his decision, Kriya left the room.

Hey Payal. I hope you are fine. I know it's been long I haven't talked you and I am extremely sorry for that. But trust me, you are still important for me. I know this may sound rude to you, but I've finally learned that I'm in love Kriya. You know Kriya, don't you? Oh god, what am I asking? Of course you know. You're always watching us. And I'm glad you do. Kriya's a great girl and I've finally realized the truth that Kriya is the one whom I love, maybe more than you. I've experienced some new feelings that I haven't experienced with you. I hope you understand. For people it may be wrong to celebrate the death anniversary of your late wife when your second wife is present and is with you, but me for me it is not wrong. For people it may be not right to celebrate someone's birthday on the death day of another person from the same family but for me it is not wrong. I don't care what people think. The thing that matters me the most is your and Kriya's happiness. I promise to do the same always. You've been a most important and beautiful phase of my life and I can never forget you nor let go of you. I love you Payal, but it will be unfair if I say I love you more than anyone else. But yeah, I do love you Payal.

Before leaving the room, he kissed her photo and caressed it.

Finally the much awaited evening arrived. Rey had two plans in his mind. At first they will celebrate Kriya's birthday with everyone and then he it is only Kriya and him. He's excited as well as nervous. He hoped that his surprise will be liked by Kriya. Everyone was getting ready. It was the birthday girl who was lacking behind. Rey entered the room to fetch Kriya, but he stopped in his tracks on seeing her. She looked stunningly elegant dressed up in a purple gown with a set of diamond earrings adoring her ears and a diamond bracelet surrounded in gold plating in her hand. Rey's eyes scanned her from head to toe as if she's the only beauty existing in this world. Kriya fidgeted with her fingers as he scrutinized her.

"You look stunning, absolutely gorgeous." He complimented her.

"Umm, thank you." She replied as her cheeks heated up.

"Let's go, everyone's waiting for you downstairs."

Everyone was staring at this couple with awestruck faces. They looked like a perfect match, which is indeed true. Kriya had wrapped her left arms around Rey's right arm as they descended the stairs. The first one to come up to them was Sharon, who embraced Kriya into a bone crushing hug.

"Happy birthday lovely sissy. God! You look beautiful." Sharon chirped.

"Thanks Shar."

Kriya approached her parents who had huge smiles planted on their faces. Taking their blessings she proceeded towards Rey's parents. After everyone wished Kriya, Kaira spoke.

"Mommy, I have a surprise for you." The five year old girl said with a beaming smile on her face.

"Aww, mommy is now really excited to see your surprise. Where is it?" Kaira ran upstairs to her room and came back with something that was hidden behind her back.

"Close your eyes pweesh." Kriya did as told. Kaira placed a book on her hands and asked Kriya to open it. It was a scrapbook that she had prepared especially for Kriya. It contained all the pictures of Kriya, Rey and Kaira together. Kriya felt overwhelmed on seeing it

"Did you like it?"

"I loved it baby. It's beautiful. Thank you so much. Mommy loves you a lot."

"I love you too Mommy." Kaira kissed her cheek.

After spending some time with their family Rey spoke. "Okay everyone, your time's up. Now if you guys permit, I would like to steal my wife for the rest of the evening." Rey said making everyone laugh while Kriya blushed.

"Rey I didn't know that you had something else planned as well." Kriya said as they got seated in the car.

"Well, that's because it's a surprise."

"Can I at least get a hint?"

"Nope. Now no more questions, just enjoy the ride." He replied.

It was a pleasant night. They were driving on a route unknown to Kriya. Trees were surrounding everywhere. There was hardly any other vehicle present there. The speed at which Rey was driving added more to experience. The atmosphere was cool and calm. It was such a peaceful and beautiful drive. After driving for almost two hours, they reached a barren land where Rey stopped the car surprising Kriya.

"Rey, why are we here?" Instead of answering her question, Rey tied a blindfold around her eyes making her complain.

"Will you stop complaining for a while and let me do my work?" He said in a stern tone making her shut her mouth. He carried her out of the car to the place where his surprise was located. Finally he opened the blindfold permitting her to see what's her surprise. She gasped loudly and clutched his hand on seeing it. A huge hot air balloon was waiting for them to get inside it. It was decorated with rose petals and on its basket was written 'Happy Birthday Kriya'. Inside its huge basket was placed a small table with two chairs. All the food was set on the table ready for them to relish it. Soft music was playing through the miniature music system placed at one end. Kriya had no idea what to say.

"Rey I'm speechless. I have nothing to say except for thank you. This is...this is just more than beautiful." She blinked away the tears that were threatening to fall. Nobody has ever done something so special like this for her, not even Rajeev.

"I can do anything for you Kriya. This is just a small gesture of it. Come let's get in."

As soon as they stepped in, the person who is in charge of this hot air balloon untied the rope and let the balloon fly up in the air. Kriya couldn't stop smiling. It felt so surreal. She experienced goose bumps as they were going up. Everything seemed so tiny beneath them. Both of them decided to have their food as they were starving. After relishing on the delacies, Rey folded the table and placed it in a corner along the chairs as they were portable and can be folded occupying less space.

"Can I have the pleasure of dancing with you my lady?" Rey asked getting down on his knees. Kriya gladly accepted it. They swayed to the music smoothly. Rey's arms were wrapped around her waist as her arms circled his neck. After a while Kriya leaned in and placed her head on his shoulder inhaling his cologne. Rey bent down and planted a kiss on her shoulders. Her moved her hair aside and continued planting kisses on her shoulder and neck. He pulled back and caught her lips for a feverish kiss. Her lips seemed like a nectar. He kept nibbling and sucking them until he felt saturated. His saturation was far away, instead his hunger increased even more. He had to leave her lips because they were lack of breath. He bent down and kissed her jawline. All this while Kriya had her eyes closed. Planting a trail of kisses he reached her throat and then down towards her neck. His mouth hovered back to her shoulder nibbling on her skin, resulting in a hickey which made her moan loudly. Fortunately for them they were alone. His lips trailed down towards her revealed cleavage trying to take in as much as possible.

"You have no idea how much I want to tear your dress apart and ravish you right here, right now." He said in a hoarse voice turning her on. She leaned forward and captured his lips in a passionate kiss. They had to break their kiss as Rey's phone started ringing. Kriya groaned at this whilst Rey chuckled at her behaviour 'cause he was expecting this phone call.

"We're ready sir." The person at the other end replied.

"Good." Rey said with a small smile playing on his lips.

"Who was it?"

"No one." Rey replied and slowed down the flame of the hot air balloon. "Kriya turn around, I have to show you something." Giving him an unsure look Kriya turned around.

"Now look down." As Kriya looked down the lights of the city blew off. There was darkness everywhere. Slowly few lights flickered on forming 'I love you Kriya'. A wave of shock hit her. When she finally regained her senses, her eyes brimmed with tears.

"Rey...this..." She couldn't speak properly with the happiness taking over her feelings.

"You read correct Kriya. I love you. I love you so much Kriya. I know I realized it a little late, but this was all.I could do to make it up for it. You have no idea how much you mean to me. After losing Payal, I was scared to fall in love. But you made me fall in love with you. I can feel the sparks when you are near me. I can feel the goosebumps when you make a skin contact with me. I can feel my heartbeat rise when you hug me. And I can feel the love when you are with me. This is something that I never felt before; not even with Payal. You have the audacity to make me experience many different feelings at once. You mean the world to me. I surely love Payal but it was just limited. But with you and me, it's Amour Indefinitely.

"You have no idea how happy I am. I cannot express my feelings Rey. I love you. I really do love you. Thank you so much for this evening. This is my best birthday ever." Saying this she pulled him into a passionate yet tender kiss. The nature was witnessing their love and as a token of approval fireworks started bursting somewhere else as if applauding for these lovers.

Firstly thank you so much reading this story and loving it. You guys are simply the best readers out there. And without your support I don't think this story could have reached this far. I'm sure many of you will be sad as I am as this piece of fiction has ended. It was such a wonderful journey and I'm definitely going to miss writing it. It is like a baby to me and maybe closer to my heart than the rest of my stories. I feel so emotional while writing it. Thanks to Asma for reviewing a few chapters of it. And Thank you Sapna for sending most of the pms. I have nothing else left to say, except that I love you guys so much. Thank you once again.
