Part 9

Khushi was in her room sitting alone thinking about how her life was taking a Big turn again. Arnav, whom she always had loved and tried to stop loving after their Divorce , but couldnt, was going to be her life partner again and this time for eternity. She had observed a noticable change in him and she believed it will be enough for her to survive with him as his wife again.

Garima knocked her room door and came inside.

Garima: There's a good news for you Khushi.

Khushi: Good news?

Garima: Yes. One minute , let Arnav come. I have asked the maid to call him here.

Arnav came inside the room asking Garima why was he called .

Garima: I have talked to the Priest. He says next week Monday is the best time for the wedding to take place. He will fulfil all the rituals in the temple.

Khushi and Arnav looked at each other .Both were happy from within but none of them could express it to the other.

Arnav: Thats nice. I talked to the Lawyer and he has applied for the legal marriage procedures too. So next week both would be completed.

Garima: Thats great again Arnav. I cant believe this is even happening .My daughter is getting married again and settling in her life.

Garima hugged Khushi tight kissing her forehead while Arnav kept on watching them. Aarav gave a shout from downstairs to his granny Garima asking her where the Chocolate milk was .

Garima: I will check what he wants till then you both decide whose going to Aarav's school and applying for his leaving certificate? Even that cannot be delayed.

She left whereas Arnav and Khushi kept sitting beside each other.

Khushi: I will go to his school tomorrow. Will talk to the Prinicipal about Aarav's quitting.

Arnav: Meanwhile I will talk to the best school in Delhi tomorrow wherein we can get Aarav's admission done.

Khushi was still very quiet and not much receptive neither enthusiastic towards this change which made Arnav a little suspicious.

Arnav: Khushi tum khush toh ho naa? (Khushi you happy right ?)

Are we forcing you for all this? Do you need still time to think? Whatever you have in your heart , just speak out .I am in no hurry.

Khushi: Its not about hurrying Arnav. I am just scared of our future. The past which we carried have to be overcomed but sometimes I still become thoughtful if it will really happen or not. I am not doubting on you but.

She controlled her tears in eyes . Arnav placed his hand on hers and pressed it softly

Arnav: This time I am not giving you any chance to repent on your decision. Its not easy for you I know that. Neither am I making big promises that I will get the stars for you from the Sky. All I am promising you is immense Love and dignity which I missed giving it earlier.

Khushi looked in his eyes.

Khushi: What if you fail? What if I dont see this change lasting forever? I dont have that courage to quit everything again and start afresh Arnav. I have done that once but not anymore.

Arnav: Believe me Khushi. Thats all I need you to do this time. No big promises just have faith in me and allow me to change our world.

His assurance was definately not so weak that she couldnt trust upon. SHe passed a weak smile. Aarav came inside the room running and hugged his dad from behind.

Arnav: Hey Champ. Done with the milk?

Aarav: Yes Dad. See what Nani gave me . Chocolates.

Khushi: Aarav, dont eat much chocolcates. I told you its not good.

Aarav: Just one mumma. Please. I will eat just one and the rest I will give to dad.

He was about to pass the rest of the chocolates to Arnav when Khushi snatched them from him.

Khushi: Not to him either. Your Dad is also not allowed to have so much sweets. Just one to each.

She unwrapped the cover of the cholocate bar and fed Aarav one peice.

Aarav : Now one to dad .

Khushi looked at Arnav who was waiting to get this same treatment from Khushi. She broke one small piece of cholcoate and fed him too. She was about to keep the chocolate bar aside when Arnav stopped her and taking a peice out he brought it to her lips. She couldnt ignore it. She allowed him feed her . Aarav happily pulled his mother and father for a hug. The group hug did relieve Aarav as he was soon going to get his parents love fully together .But that hug did cause some rapid increase in heartbeats of the couple who were dreaming of their coming future with each other again.

The week passed very quickly with Khushi and Arnav both being engrossed in doing their duties towards Aarav. A lot had to be looked after related to this change in Aarav's academics from Lucknow to Delhi. He was also feeling bad that he will be losing all his friends here but staying with his Dad and Mumma together surpassed every fear and worry. Garima and Akash were busy in the marriage preparations. They wanted this wedding to happen peacefully and give lots of memories to the couple which they can once again cherish forver.

Akash had purposely taken Arnav out to shop the Saree for Khushi which she can wear on her wedding in the temple. It was worth seeing Arnav's dedication and efforts in selecting a saree for her. He picked a Red one which was his favourite colour. The way he admired the saree made Akash realise that Arnav was actually visualising Khushi in it .No matter what Arnav was earlier 5 years back but the Arnav Singh Raizada today was really a hardcore romantic man who was all set to give his love to Khushi and start their journey of togetherness again. Along with the red saree, Arnav also chose some more dresses and Sarees for his wife and packed everything.

Garima was impressed when Akash told her and Khushi about Arnav's efforts in shopping for the wedding. Khushi did feel shy when Akash was warning her to be ready to handle the romantic side of Arnav as he is no longer the same boring husband he used to be. She was happy that Arnav wasnt present before her when Akash said all this otherwise she would not have been able to hide her red cheeks from him.

Khushi as usual had searched Aarav in her room but when she didnt find him there, she knew where to look for him. She came in Arnav's room and heard the shower on. She was surprised knowing Aarav was having his bath alone and that too in his father's room. She took a Towel and thought of getting him done with the remaining shower so that he doesnt play with water more and fall sick. She entered in.

She had not expected Arnav also to have his shower along with their Son in the Shower cabin. Seeing Arnav all damped in just knee length shorts bathing Aarav made her feel weak on her knees and she turned around clearing her throat to make the Father and Son aware of her presence. As soon as they both saw her, Arnav turned the shower off. Without turning around she extended the towel towards the shower cabin door . Arnav could see why she was hesitating so much. The last time she might have seen him with so less clothes was 5 years back and they had shared such a hot shower earlier in Shantivan when they were newly married. Such encounters were very uneasy for her now because a lot had changed between them and most importantly they had a 5 year old son; so what if they were getting married again in few days ?

Arnav took the towel from her and wrapped Aarav first. Aarav came outside the shower cabin towards Khushi.

Aarav: Mumma I will get one towel for Dad too.

Khushi: Aarav let me get .

Aarav: No you wait here.

He ran outside the bathroom leaving his parents alone there. Her hands were cold as ice with the mere thought of landing in such a situation with Arnav. She felt him nearing her but she had no courage to turn back and see him. She thought of leaving the bathroom before they land up into something really uneasy. But as soon as she stepped away from him, her leg skid with the soap water on the floor and she lost her balance . Luckily Arnav was not much far from her and he caught her at the right time saving her from falling down and getting hurt. She held his wet arms for support and looked in his eyes. The time had stopped for them as they kept admiring each other for some more time. It was only Aarav's voice that made them come of their dreamland. He helped her stand again .

Aarav: What happened Mumma?

Khushi was too uncomfortable to respond anything.

Arnav: Kuch nahi Aarav. Mumma fisal gayi.. (Mumma lost her balance)

They saw each other again. Arnav took the Towel from Aarav and wrapped it around his waist indicating Khushi tha the badly needed to change those damp shorts because he did not want to fall sick on their marriage day. She picked Aarav in arms and giving Arnav his privacy, left the bathroom.

Since it was their re-marriage, the rituals like Mehndi , Haldi ,etc were done within these 4 people only. One of Khushi's friend had come home last night and she drew the Mehndi on her hands , the haldi was also completed in the same way. Aarav had applied the Haldi to both his parents too and had played for hours with the haldi as if it was Holi for him. Today was the wedding in the Temple at the evening. Khushi was dressed in the Red Saree which Arnav had selected for her. Aarav and Arnav were both wearing a Sherwani and waiting for Khushi to come down.

Akash whispered something to Garima which she happily agreed for and came to Arnav.

Garima: Uhh Arnav. Me and Akash are leaving with Aarav to the temple. The Priest will be waiting for us .You get Khushi along in your Car. Okay?

Arnav had no plans to deny. He happily agreed . Aarav left with his granny and Aki uncle whereas Arnav now desperately waited for Khushi to come down.
