Chapter 3:- I came downstairs smelling the aroma from the kitchen. Kriya was preparing something. The smell was recogniseable, it spelt familar. This aroma reminded me of an old memory. I didn't know what it was but i knew it was special. I stepped into the kitchen and saw kriya wrestling with her hair that came infront of her eyes. She cleaned her hands and finally pinned her hair. She looked better like this. Her whole face was visible. Why I was thinking this; I had no clue. But I observed her small features. I realised how her eyes stood out from all the features. Damn! She sure was beautiful! I went and stood behind her. She jumped turning towards me and gave me a slight smile. I smiled back and looked at what she was doing. "Chocolate cake?" I asked. She nodded. "You like it don't you?" This girl was unbelieveable. We always argued like there was no tomorrow but she never failed to make me happy. She still tried that I remembered everything and I appreciated that. "How do you.." I started to ask her but realised my taste may not have changed, She knew everything about her Reyaansh. She looked at me knowing what I was going to ask and then looked away. "I'm sorry" I whispered.

We ate the cake in silence after the kitchen discussion I had with Reyaansh. I hated this! After everything would go awkward, we won't talk after that. The same was happening now. Sat opposite to each other, We dug into the sweet dessert infront of us. He was licking his finger but He didn't even complement the taste. I sighed knowing he wouldn't say a thing.
I sat at the couch switching the tv channel to my favourite show. He came inside the room shouting my name for the first time after our conversation in the kitchen. "Kriya! switch to the football channel quick! I need to check the scores!" He chirped. "What?! No! I'm catching up on last nights episode!" I told him. "Please kriya just one sec!" I rolled my eyes. When he said a second, he actually meant an hour. "Nope!" He grabbed the remote whilst i wasn't looking. I glared at him and took hold of the remote from one end and pulled it. He too pulled it "kriyaa pleasee! Dekhne do na!!" We were practically snatching the remote like kids.He pulled it a little harder due to which i fell on him. My face was inches apart from his. His arm was around my waist as I lay on top of him. His gaze on me was strong. I shuffled trying to let myself free but his grip was tight. I cleared my throat which made him loosen his grip. I quickly got up straightening myself.

We both had an awkward moment AGAIN. It was nothing new, it just meant there'd be silence in the whole house again. She straightened herself getting up from me. After a few minutes I looked at her and then at the remote again. I smirked and changed the channel to look at the scores. I felt her look at me as i turned to see her expression. Her expression changed in minutes from awkwardness to shock and then to anger. "I hate you Reyaansh! You always do this!" She whined like a kid and stomped of. "I always did this?" I spoke to no one in particular.
*******
As stupid as it sounds; Reyaansh and I just had an argument over the remote. I can't believe he changed forms in minutes. He came so close and then left taking the remote like nothing ever happend. I glared at him. "I hate you reyaansh! you always do this!" I told him and left. Yes he did do that all the time. But little did he remember. I sat down opening my dairy. Looks like life was taking a turn again.
'Reyaansh. He was slowly coming back. No he didn't remember, but he didn't forget too. His habbits were the same, From playing the guitar to recognising his favourite cake and then fighting for the tv! I was glad his old habbits were not erased. I knew since the time he played the guitar that i had to bring them back. I had to show him his old memories and that's exactly what i was doing. On having snatched the remote, he heared the last sentence from me. I knew it left him thinking. I knew it left him stressing on the past, But it was neccessary for our life to move a little ahead. Maybe he'd reflect on it, Maybe it'd come back to him and maybe he would remember everything. Sigh. Not everything goes the way we want. I shut my diary. Tomorrow was Reyaansh's appointment with the doctor who would tell about his progress. I just hoped my strategies hadn't affected his brain too much. I hoped there was some progress, even a little. I just hoped for the best.
