At 17, he was assigned the task of looking after his siblings... and in every family, there is always one who is not understood.
Anjali was so supporting of her elder brother... and he knew about her and Shyam!

As Payal said in the earlier chapter, Khushi needs to tell Akash about her not loving him. Am sure he will take it wrongly, though. And put all the blame on Arnav.

Hi Archi,
Thank you for Arnav's POV...
I was eagerly waiting for it...
Oh...Arnav is soo guilt ridden...not just for hurting Akash in Khushi's case but also with his promise he made to his dying Dad and to himself... How is a teenager suddenly made responsible for her younger siblings care and future along with the weights of business empire and promises make choices and decisions..? How is it that Anjali understands and knows Arnav sooo well while Akash has no clue of what Arnav had faced..? I guess it's because of Akash's preoccupation with being not loved and appreciated by his parents and being overshadowed by his older brothers achievements..
But I love the way Arnav revealed his knowledge of Anjai's relationship with Shyam...
Can't wait for Akash and Khushi's encounter,...

My heart goes out for Arnav.. He has given up so much in life to keep his promise from his dad.. He tried to fill the place of his father in his siblings life, tried his best to keep them happy..

Akash, what to say about him.. After everything, I couldn't bring myself to hate Akash.. I understand where he is coming from.. All his life, he has been compared to Arnav which made him feel worthless... His insecurity is his main problem. . He has to come out of it but now when he left his family, its going to be worse..

Loved Anjali for the way he comforted Arnav and supported him.. Love is not in control of anyone. . It just happens.. I just hope he doesn't giveup on Khushi. . Loved the update. .

Lovely to see you back and even lovelier to read the update! I love the Arnav in your story and of course the story itself.
My heart went out to Arnav and to Akaash.
Khushi not really because she has chosen to be in the position that she is in now. And when you make your own bed you have to lie on it as well! You cannot be cavalier with relationships and not expected that someday it will come back to bite you. But everyone does have the right to make mistakes and wrong choices and then try and rectify them, so does she.
Akaash for hanging on to one hope when he probably always knew that Khushi never really loved him, for not being a strong enough personality to get over his sense of not being good enough. His entire life has been about this...
"You think I don't notice... but I do. I always did. Maa, Papa, Anjali, Nani... they all love you, they literally worship the ground you walk on. And now, so does Khushi, the only girl who brought some sort of normalcy in my messed up life."
"It's not like that," Arnav murmured.
"But it is Bhai," he replied, looking out the window. "It is just like that. Don't do this, don't do that... that's what I have been told all my life. Study like Arnav, behave like Arnav, be responsible like Arnav... it's like I have no identity. The only thing that matters to anyone about me is that I am not like you - the perfect son, the perfect brother, the perfect heir."
...and this gave him an occasion where he could be the better man or rather Arnav the lesser person!
And poor Arnav. He too has made sacrifices but has chosen to sweep them under the carpet and now that he has fallen in love, he does not have the luxury to savour or enjoy that because that comes with the guilt of having taken away something from his brother.
But I loved Anjali's sensible take on all of this. Love cannot be dictated. It happens.
I would love to read the confrontation between Akaash and Khushi. I do hope you will update soon.

A very moving account of Arnav's overdeveloped sense of responsibility, not to mention guilt. What a burden to carry. His craving for a mother's solace was painful to read, a cry for some salve for his tumult.

I love this ff and I love the way you write. 😊 You are a mind blowing writer who really knows how to connect with the audience. I love the way you have developed the characters of Arnav, Khushi, Akashi, ... One can understand and empathize with each one's character and vulnerabilities. Seriously, brilliant writing. 🤗 Felt bad for both Arnav and Akash. The story is becoming really interesting. I wonder when will Arnav confess his feelings to khushi. Please update when you can and if possible please accept my buddy request. It would really make my day. :)
