No doubt, I feel very bad for Khushi and what she is going through. Not only did her husband, the man she loves deeply, leave her in such a brutal matter, but she has to hear such cruel taunts from her mother in-law and now the history of her husband with the one woman he loved. I know that this all must hurt her deeply - I wish she didn't have to be so stoic all the time and put on that brave face all the time.
There had been clues about Arnav's past from the very beginning. He was a free spirit, who wasn't into conforming with proper societal rules, so his artist lifestyle makes sense. Also the number of women he passed through, the drugs and alcohol were not surprising - you have hinted at all of it all along. Whatever he did, it was in the past, and he was not bound by any marriage or commitment at that time, so honestly I don't feel upset with him, though I'm glad that Aman had the decency to not share all of Arnav's past deeds with Khushi and Anjali as I'm sure that is not what they need to hear at the moment.
Now back to Arnav, his past with Lexie is interesting. I'm wondering if the love he believes he had with Lexie was just a figment of his imagination. She seems like she had the perfect joie de vivre, but maybe she was just overcompensating for being abandoned by her parents, and she used drugs, alcohol and Arnav as a form of escape and maybe she was not in love with Arnav as he was with her, or maybe she was just an infatuation for him and not someone he truly loved. Even if they did share true love, there is obviously a reason why they had to be separated and I'm looking forward to finding out how it all happened.
Arnav's past really can't be held against him when it comes to his marriage with Khushi. Honestly, most people have some kind of a past, and just because Arnav's is more colorful than most doesn't mean that he's not committed to his marriage (even though the marriage started with all the wrong reasons). However, if Arnav continues to hurt Khushi (I'm willing to give him a pass for how he left Khushi in such a heartless manner because he was probably in shock at that time) and rejects his wife because of his former flame, then I will have reason to worry for both Arnav and Khushi, and their relationship in general. Until we find out what Arnav is really doing in London and how he will be with his wife when he returns, I don't want to start prosecuting him yet.
I see a lot of comments showing a lot of anger towards Arnav (and rightfully so!) and pessimism over what's going to happen with Arnav and Khushi, but I'm honestly feeling really hopeful right now. Although Arnav and Khushi are going through a rough patch right now, I really feel like the end results will be great! I feel like until he has not cleared his mind of this relationship with Lexie and the guilt that he apparently seems to have related to leaving her, he will never be able to move forward in his relationship with Khushi - and now is the perfect opportunity for him to realize that he had a past, he needs to leave it in the past, and he has a wife, family, political responsibilities and it's time for him to move forward with these new realities.
Maybe I'm just being overtly optimistic, but that's just what I'm feeling!! I know the ride might still be bumpy for a while, but I'm willing to go on this journey as Arnav and Khushi get their hamesha wala ending (lol can you tell, I am the eternal optimist😆)
Sorry for the very jumbled comment; a lot goes through my mind after I read this story and I am not always able to express my thoughts coherently.
Can't wait for the next chapter; hope to read it soon!!
