CHAPTER 2B
I came into my room to find Arpita on her bed.She looked like she was going some where.
"sanyukta,where were you?You know Randhir right.Last night he thrashed 4 seniors for ragging a girl though he didn't reveal the girl's identity",she said excited with the new gossip."oh is it.Now what? Randhir will be punished by the authorities.How did u know this anyway?" I pestered.
"punished?for what?for beating up d morons who tried to rag a girl.The authorities don't know about this.This is a college baby,word travels around fast." she giggled.Arpita looks beautiful I noticed.Suddenly I had this weird urge of inquiring about her relation with Randhir but I suppressed it and asked her about Kaustuki."I am here Sanyu" Kaustuki peeped from the wash room."oops I forgot to tell you.Get dressed we are going shopping today." Arpita said excited as if she hasn't shopped all her life.
"Shopping?all of a sudden?why?" I asked earning a "are you crazy" look from Arpita."offo sanyukta,I should get some cosmetics and nail polish.I don't have the exact colour of my dress I would be wearing tomorrow.Now move your ass" she stood up and nudged me.Nail polish huh.Her words sent me back to my childhood.
"mom,why do you keep trimming my nails.I don't wanna trim them.I want long nails so that I could paint them" I shouted at my mom.She just looked at me calmly as if i have gone mad and spoke with a smile,"Sona,you are just 12.I don't want you trying these cosmetics stuff.So listen to me."With that all my anger eluded me just like a Jeanie out of the bottle.She always does that.Wait till I complete my blabbering then telling me what I should do as if I never spoke a word about my problem."okay,who wants to go shopping with me" she winked.I blushed hard and ran into my room to get dressed...
"Sanyukta..." Kaustuki came running to me like a lost child."where have you been.Get dressed quickly we should leave" she said pulling some clothes out of my suitcase."umn guys.I m not really interested.I ll just stay in d room today" I blurted out which made them turn towards me at once."Doing what?day dreaming?" Arpita joked to which I rolled my eyes."Sanyu,don't be silly.Once the college starts there wouldn't be a minute for us to step outside.So we better use this quality time" Kaustuki pleaded with her large watery eyes.I couldn't say "no" now.So I quickly dressed up and we headed towards the main entrance of the university.I looked sideways where a lot of students were laughing,playing,talking.How could they be so normal...
."Hello girls.." a voice called out.I turned my head and found him with another guy with a big goofy smile on his face.Ew I thought."Karan,Randhir" Arpita turned Randhir to Karan with a questioning look."where are you going?" Karan asked."no where you are interested in" Arpita retorted."Randhir,When is Parth coming?I am sure she won't be such a mean bitch if she sees him" Karan winked.Randhir laughed while Arpita hit him jovially."Alright we are going shopping." she declared."well,if this beautiful friend of yours also needs to get a dress.I am ready to help select one" he said taking Kaustuki's hand.Kaustuki giggled."Stop being a flirt,Karan.If you wanna come,you can." she offered."Really?I don't wanna miss this" said Randhir eyeing me.I just turned away not wanting to make an eye contact with him.What is he upto?...

Kaustuki was trying on some clothes while Arpita was taking snaps of her so that they could figure out d best in the end."The black looks great on you,Kaustuki" suggested Karan.Kaustuki laughed out loud.Karan looked at her confused."I hate black." Kaustuki managed to say while laughing.Karan's face fell and he turned around to not interfere.Just then his phone beeped and he took it out.He stared at d screen for 2 mins and then laughed.Arpita looked at him like a zombie.Karan looked up at us,"what?do i have no right to laugh?I shouldn't have come", he said glaring at Randhir.So thats why he is here.Randhir asked him to."Anyways listen,freshers party is being held on saturday and the dress code for girls is blue,for boys is white", he announced looking into his phone."what?blue? but i picked a green dress for myself", Kaustuki said disappointed."what? you picked the dress already", Randhir joked."what about you Sanyukta and Arpita?" she asked."Well I have a blue dress,u sanyukta?" Arpita turned to me.I felt Randhir's eyes on me,of course he has been staring at me for the past one hour."I don't have a dress.I am not interested to get any." I said much to every one's shock."Its okay.As you wish Sanyu.I think I should buy one now", Kaustuki was worried."Don't worry,we will get u d best" Arpita cheered her."which means we are not done yet?" Karan cried out.Arpita covered his mouth and warned him.I wanted to go some where else calm and quiet.So I told them I will check out the other stores in the mall and came out.I walked into a jewellery store where a woman started prying me about what I want.To stop her I told her I want a chain which goes with my blue outfit.Thank god,she stopped talking and starting searching some boxes.Some one tapped my shoulder and I turned around to find Randhir."You are quite different Sanyukta" he grinned."I did tell you to stay away from me,didn't I." I said more like a statement than a question."don't u think you are being hard on me", he made a puppy dog face.I couldn't help but giggle at the way he curved his lips."Yeah,that suits you better" he winked.I stopped giggling and turned away."come on Sanyukta,a part of you is happy that I kicked their ass", he said as if it was obvious."no" I argued."fine you are not" he smiled and turned to the lady who appeared again with two platinum chains.Oops she is back.I need to get out of here."choose one dear,both of them look great on you" she said expectantly.I looked at the two chains.One chain had a star shaped diamond and the other has a ruby covered with diamonds.I chose the latter while Randhir laughed at my choice.I turned to him shooting daggers."you don't like it Sanyukta" he said surprising me."It doesn't matter anyway", I asked the lady to pack it."It does,I mean you should like it right" he fumbled as if he was unable to find the right word to explain it to me."It doesn't matter anyways.Who cares if this stupid piece of metal looks good on me or if I look good in a nice outfit huh?" I flipped and walked away paying the woman before he could say anything.
