Chapter-15

"Hell!" Randhir opened his eyes and felt his head throbbing. He was about to get up when he felt some weight on his chest. As he adjusted his eyesight, he found the most beautiful scene that could welcome his morning.

Randhir tucked the strands of hair behind her ear that were obstructing his view to her angelic face. He found both his hands bandaged. That's when he remembered what had happened last night. He had decided to go somewhere far but dropped that idea thinking that Sanyukta would be worried. He took the whisky bottle from his car and started drinking. He was feeling obnoxious for what he had done with Sanyukta. That is when he smashed the bottle on his own hand and grabbed the broken glass. The pain was giving him pleasure. After that everything had blacked out.

She must have had a hard time getting me back here.

He was about to kiss her when he noticed the slight-bluish marks on her arm. The marks were not so evident now but they were etched in his mind forever. He slowly eased himself out of Sanyukta's grip and went to the bathroom. He came out and saw Sanyukta awake and setting the table for breakfast. Sanyukta smiled and said "Good Morning"

"Good Morning" Randhir said averting her gaze and as he was checking some documents. He was about to leave when Sanyukta held his arm and lovingly caressed his cheek "Randhir tumhare dono haathon mein chot lagi hai. Office nahi jaoge aaj to nahi chalega kya?"

"Actually aaj ek important meeting hai and I have to be there. I am already late. I'll eat something in office. Aur aaj aate aate late ho jaega to tum khana kha lena. Don't wait up for me." said Randhir and left for office without looking back even once.

Sanyukta knew why he was behaving like but decided to give him sometime. She got ready and left for office with Mike. At office she asked everyone to not tell Randhir that she is there. The day passed with introductions and the basic working of the team by Sandeep Chaterjee, the team's lead. Sanyukta sat with the whole team and they had an informal discussion on how to make the teams more efficient. She was studying a file regarding the new designs when she saw Randhir come out of the meeting room with Parth and some more people. She immediately hid behind the pillar and was watching Randhir march to the lift when he turned around suddenly. Sanyukta totally plastered herself on the pillar.

"Kya hua?" asked Parth seeing his friend's restless appearance.

"I thought I felt Sanyukta here." said Randhir scanning the office.

"Felt..You mean see'?" asked Parth.

"No. You won't understand. We have this strange thing Parth. Whenever we are in each other's vicinity, we can just sense each other's presence. And right now my senses are telling me that she is here watching me." said Randhir looking everywhere.

"O mere Majnu! I think is baar teri sense tujhe dhoka de rahi hai. She is not here dude. Ab chal. The legal team is waiting for you. Us Bhatia pe ek zabardast lawsuit file karna hai." said Parth pulling Randhir in the lift.

As the lift doors closed, Sanyukta huffed a sigh of relief and smiled. He was right they could always sense each other.

Randhir stood in front of his office's window looking out. He loosened his tie and rolled his cuffs to his elbows. My instinct is never wrong Parth. Wo yahin hai.

FITE

3^rd Year

Sanyukta was fidgeting with the noodles from the past half an hour. She was constantly looking at the entrance of the canteen to see any sign of her MCP. It was almost 15 days since she had not seen Randhir. Randhir had gone to New York with his Mom for some important work which his Mom didn't tell him about calling it a Surprise'. He had just spoken twice in those 15 days due to the mismatch in their time zones. But in the morning his message made her day.

Will reach hostel by 6 in the evening. Dying to see you. Love you.

It was already 6.30 pm. She continued murdering the noodles when Kaustuki snatched the fork from her hand and settled on the chair next to her.

"Khana nahi tha to bol deti, I would have eaten it. Atleast is tarah se iska murder to nahi hoti." said Kaustuki faking serious face.

"Randhir abhi tak aaya kyun nahi Kaustu?" said Sanyukta handing Kaustuki her plate.

"Aa jaega Sanyu. He must be unpacking his stuff." said Kaustuki stuffing the noodles in her mouth.

"Wo ladki hai kya? Ek haversack hi to tha uska. Usme unpack kya karne ke liye hoga." said Sanyukta making a face.

"Did you call him?" said Kaustuki.

"Nahi. Bahut desperate sound karungi na?" asked Sanyukta.

"That you are. Call him." ordered Kaustuki not able to stand her irritated friend anymore.

Sanyukta called him but there was no answer.

"Shayad wo abhi tak aaya hi nahi ho?" said Kaustuki trying to cheer her friend a bit.

"Nahi. He is here. I know. I can feel it." said Sanyukta closing her eyes. Suddenly she felt his eyes on her back. She turned around but there was no one there.

"Tum jaanti ho tum kitni crazy sound kar rahi ho." said Kaustuki.

"Mat maano. But I know he is in the college and is watching me." she said scanning the crowd and left the canteen with her bag.

She was passing the mechanical lab when she was pulled roughly inside the lab and pinned to the wall. Before she coud react her lips were assaulted by someone. His hands were everywhere. He finally settled his left hand in her hair and his right hand was holding her right hand behind her. They continued kissing each other like there was no tomorrow. Sanyukta moaned and deepened the kiss taking his lower lip between her teeth, grazing it a bit.

After what seemed like eternity, her assaulter left her and stood there with their foreheads touching.

"Randhir" Sanyukta moaned his name and hid her face in his neck inhaling his scent. He left her hand and hugged her pulling her more into him. She pulled his shirt a bit and kissed his neck.

"Oh God! I missed you so much." said Randhir tightening his grip around her waist and burying his face in her long tresses.

"Ssshhh..Bas chup chaap khade raho and don't utter a word." said Sanyukta.

Randhir smiled and obliged. After a while he felt his shirt a bit wet. He forcefully separated Sanyukta from him and went away a few feets to switch on the lab lights.

He turned around and found her standing with messed hair, swollen lips and a tear-stricken face. But she had the brightest smile which reached her eyes. Randhir smiled and spread his arms and beckoned her to come into his embrace. Without wasting a second, Sanyukta flung herself into his arms and hugged him with all her might. Her feet were in the air as Randhir had picked her from the ground with his arms secured tightly around her waist. Her tears were not stopping at all.

"Bas..bas..bas..Bahut ho gaya rona." said Randhir putting her down.

"Bahut ho gaya! Tum keh rahe ho bahut ho gaya?" said Sanyukta pushing Randhir away.

"Do you know how I have spent these 15 days?I literally counted hours and minutes for your return. Neend nahi aati thi. Bhook lagna band ho gaya. Tumhari khaali seat ko dekhti rehti thi. Apne aap se tumhari awaaz bana ke baat karti thi. Class se PKC ne teen baar nikaala because I was lost in your thoughts. Vardhaan Sir ko shayad meri haalat samajh aa gayi thi isiliye unhone mujhe nikaala nahi par pata nahi kitne warnings diye. Do machines maine phoonk diye mechanical lab mein. This is what happened in 15 days without you. Aur thode din tumse door rehti to pata nahi shayad pagal hi ho jaati!" screamed Sanyukta taking the help of the wall behind her to constant her staggering feet.

Randhir smiled sadly, that is when she noticed dark circles around his eyes, a plaster on his forehead and a plaster on his left hand. She came to him and asked in a worried tone "Randhir, ye kaise hua?"

"Now let me tell you about my 15 days. You were trying to imagine me, right? I could see you everywhere. Har jagah dikhti thi tum mujhe. My living room, my bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, terrace, car and all such places. One day I was crossing the road to go to my car, when I saw you standing on the other side. I was so happy that I crossed the busiest road of New York without looking here and there. A car hit me hard. I was in hospital for 10 days due to which I could not call you. After I was declared fine, I asked Mom to let me go back because tumhe dekhe bina aur nahi reh paata. Ek baar bach gaya, humesha thode hi bach paata. Maalum pada is baar..." said Randhir pointing up.

"Chup karo Randhir! Dobara aisa mat kehna." said Sanyukta covering his mouth with her palm.

Randhir kissed her palm and hugged her. Both of them stood in each other's arms. Sanyukta was listening to Randhir's hearbeat with her eyes closed while Randhir was feeling Sanyukta in her arms.

After some time Sanyukta asked "Randhir, tum hostel kab pahunche?"

"Ek ghante pehle." answered Randhir.

"To fir itni der baad mujhse milne kyun aaye?" asked Sanyukta digging herself more into his chest.

"Itni der kahaan? Main to pichle ek ghante se tumhe canteen mein chup ke dekh raha tha. You were taking some sort of revenge with the noodles but your eyes were searching me. Tum jab bhi palat ke dekhti thi , I used to hide behind the pillar." said Randhir.

"Par chup ke kyun?" asked Sanyukta innocently.

"I wanted to see you alone. Itne dino baad tumhe saamne dekh ke main apne aap ko control nahi kar paata. Sabke saamne PDA dikhaata to hum dono college se suspend ho jaate. So I was waiting for you to come out of the canteen to some place where there would be no one to disturb us. Aur cell toot gaya raaste mein to tumhe call bhi nahi kar paaya." said Randhir wiping her tears.

"Main jaanti thi ki tum mujhe dekh rahe the. Kaustu ko laga ki main pagal ho gayi hun." said Sanyukta cheerfully.

"Ye sab un logon ko samajh nahi aaega Sanyu. Our connection goes deep. Its mind, body and soul." said Randhir placing her palm over his heart.

Sanyukta was lost in the same thoughts in which Randhir was. She hoped that Randhir would not notice her presence, but she serioulsly doubted it. Just then her intercom buzzed. Without seeing the name she picked it and his voice boomed in the intercom "In the conference room in 5 minutes Mrs.Shekhawat". With that the line went dead.

"Hoped too much too soon" she murmered to herself and went towards the lift.

"May I come in?" Sanyukta said in a courteous voice.

"Yes" said Randhir without looking up from the file he and Parth were discussing about.

She came in and seated herslf on one of the chairs. Soon all the board of directors also joined.

"Hello every one. There is good news. As you all know that we had slapped a litigation of 10 million$ on Mr.Bhatia. The court proceedings were in our favour and we have won." said Randhir and everyone clapped.

"Also, the Congregate Motors tender is now ours." Randhir smirked and then the hoots and more loud claps filled the room. Everyone got up from their seats and hugged and congratulated each other.

Sanyukta stood up clapping and smiled looking at Randhir who was being congratulated by everyone. Natasha hugged and kissed Randhir on his cheek for a bit too long before Randhir deliberately parted from her and went to greet others. Sanyukta felt as if someone had light her on fire. But she kept her calm. Parth came to Sanyukta and hugged her.

"Isnt this good news?" he said.

"Yes, its great news. You and Randhir did this. I am proud of you guys." She said and hugged Parth.

"If you are proud of both of us, then why are you not congratulating Randhir?" asked Parth puzzled.

"She wanted to do it in person, maybe? Right Sanyukta?" said Natasha in a sharp and sweet tone.

"Here comes the B***h" murmered Sanyukta in Parth's ear and turned around. Parth stifled a laugh and separated from Sanyukta. He knew something interesting was going to come.

Sanyukta smiled and said "Aww. It's nothing like that. I can congratulate him here too. Wanna see?" said Sanyukta in a sugary tone. She just strode towards Randhir and grabbed the collar of his suit and turned him around. Before Randhir could react, she kissed him full on his mouth. It took a second for Randhir to react. But then he kissed her back with equal fervor.

"Congrats" said Sanyukta with their lips still infused.

"Thanks" it came out more as a moan with her lips still kissing his.

"I think we should give them some privacy." With this all the members smiled and went out of the room. Natasha stood there looking at both of them kissing each other completely oblivious to the surroundings, when Parth tapped her shoulder and gestured her to exit the room with him.

As the room went empty, Sanyukta parted from Randhir and looked at his face. He still had his eyes closed. He slowly opened his eyes and said "I thought you didn't like PDA."

"Sometimes it is important to show people their right place." said Sanyukta wiping a red lipstick mark from Randhir's cheek.

"It's not like that" said Randhir looking in her eye.

"I know what it is Mr.Shekhawat." answered Sanyukta looking him square in his eye.

"Kab aayi tum office?" asked Randhir collecting some papers from the table.

"Tumhare nikalne ke ek ghante ke baad" answered Sanyukta matching his courteous tone.

"Mujhe batana zaruri nahi samjha ki tum office aa gayi ho?" asked Randhir still observing the sheets.

"As if tumhe koi farak padta." answered Sanyukta maintaining the same tone collecting her file.

"Ghar chalein?" asked Randhir picking up the final sheets.

"No. You go. I have some work. I have asked Mike to pick me up. Tum ja sakte ho." answered Sanyukta picking her cell from the table.

Randhir looked up from under the hood of his eye lashes. The look clearly meant that he was getting annoyed with her answers. But he decided to not prod futher and left the conference room muttering a Bye.

Sanyukta quietly went to her cabin. She worked for another hour finalizing the designs with the team and then called Mike to pick her up.

As she came out of the office a car stopped in front of her.

"Tum?" asked Sanyukta confused.
