PART 11
You're all that matters to me
Worried about nobody else
If it ain't you, I ain't myself
You make me complete
You're all that matters to me

Randhir's P.O.V.
It was 7 in the morning. Being a Sunday, neither of my two roommates thought it was necessary to be up, so early in the morning. Parth and Jiggy were, pleasantly, sleeping; while I did my push-ups. There was a different happiness in the morning, today, a sense of calmness and relief.
I listened to the birds chirping an unknown melody, outside. The curtains of the room were dancing a little with the wind. I noticed the beautiful patterns the sun light, peeping from between the gaps of the curtains, made on the floor; appearing and disappearing with the movements of the curtains.
I got up from the floor and went to the window. A little sunshine would do no harm; I thought as I pulled out the curtains, letting the sun enlighten the room. The rays made Parth toss in the bed, uncomfortably, hiding his face from the light; while Jiggy made no movement. I smiled at both of them and get back to my push-ups.
"Where were you last night? I fell asleep, waiting for you" the mention of last night, itself, brought a smirk to my face. I got up to see a yawning Parth sitting in his bed, waiting for my reply.
"I was outside the college" I answered, honestly, as I sat in my bed and grabbed a water bottle from the study table.
"Outside? And what did you do with Sameer's number?" he enquired. I gulped a mouthful of water, before replying.
"Well, after you texted me his number..."
------x------
I looked around to see no one was watching me. The place felt empty enough, so, I climbed the wall and jumped outside F.I.T.E. I had to be quick; I don't want anyone from the facility to guess my absence, do I?
"Auto?" I shouted until one stopped. I gave him the directions to a P.C.O. far away from our college and sat in it.
I kept on looking at my watch again and again, as I asked him to drive a little faster. The journey was one to enjoy, only if I didn't have the tension to reach back, soon. A passage of tall trees developed on both the sides of the road, as we proceeded. Finally, after twenty long minutes, we reached. I hopped out, paid him and ran towards the P.C.O.
"Works?" I made sure with the shopkeeper near before making the call. The shopkeeper nodded. I took out my phone, opened Parth's text and dialled his number. It rang twice, before he picked up.
"Hello?" I smirked at his voice. He is so gone.
"Sanyukta...must have heard of her name?" I replied. He took a moment to reply.
"Who is this?" he asked, a little fear reflecting in his voice.
"There are many more important things than my name, Sameer, like the reason I called you for" I replied, roughness oozing from my words.
"Excuse me? How do you know my name?" he asked, clearly tensed, now.
"Ha-ha! Name is nothing compared to the information I have about you, like the days, places and the times you are all alone" I replied, laughing, bitterly.
"What do you want?" I could imagine his face, drenched with sweat. It was a hard task not to laugh out loud, right then.
"Sanyukta! Listen to me, and listen clearly. I am Sanyukta's boyfriend. I love her and I am gonna spend my life with her, not you. Call her parents and call off the marriage; give any excuse, I don't care, but call it off. And if you didn't or if you tried to tell anybody about our relation, I swear to god; you'll be dead meat" I said and cut off the call, without waiting for his reply. The job was done. As far as I knew that coward, he would call off the wedding without any further thoughts.
I paid the shopkeeper and walked towards the road to find myself an auto.

"...and by the time I reached our room, you two were sleeping" I finished telling my story.
"Oh! Now I get why you were screaming, yesterday, in between the movie. You got this idea from the movie! You got it from "Chup Chup Ke"" he said, mostly to himself. I nodded, smiling, in agreement.
Suddenly, our phones vibrated, together. I picked up my phone as he did the same.
Sanyukta - the name flashed on the screen.
"Sanyukta?" we both said in union. We looked at each other and then back at the phone, opening the text.
Hi! Hav a gr8 news 2 share. Cum @ canteen 10am sharp.
"I guess, I know what the good news is" Parth said and we both giggled.
------x------
We; me, Parth, Kaustuki and Jiggy; sat in the corner table as Sanyukta stood at the counter, making the order. She had wore the same green kurti she had worn at the "Fresher's Party" with a black Patiala below. Her hair was left open, something she had stopped doing these past days.
She took the tray, from the counter, and walked towards us. She placed everyone's order in front of them; Kaustuki's sandwich, Jiggy's dhokla, Parth's milkshake and my noodles. She took her burger and sat by Kaustuki's side.
"So, now that you have given us our party, can we know what the great news is?" Kaustuki asked, impatiently while Jiggy nodded.
"First let's eat, I'm starving" Sanyukta replied. Kaustuki shrugged.
After everyone ate, we walked towards our ground. I didn't miss the constant smile Sanyukta was wearing.
"Sanyu, tell us now, at least" Kaustuki pleaded while Sanyukta grinned.
"Are, Kaustuki, you won't believe what happened, today morning!" she exclaimed, happily. I smiled at her happiness.
"What?"
"Ma called! She said Sameer cancelled our marriage, though he never gave a proper reason. I don't know what happened but I'm so glad!! Thank God!" she gabbled, happily.
"Oh My God, Sanyu, that's a great news!" Kaustuki hugged her.
"Yes, Sanyukta, congratulations" Jiggy said, smiling.
"Congrats" Parth smiled, too.
"Thanks! God, I'm so happy! I wish, I could know who made that chomu realize that marrying me wasn't a good idea, after all. I would have kissed his cheeks..." I actually imagined her kissing my cheeks at this point. I shook my head and cursed myself to even think so.
"You can still do that" Parth said, matter-of-factly. I shot a shocked glance towards him. He isn't going to...
"I didn't get you" Sanyukta replied, confused.
"Randhir blackmailed Sameer" Parth replied while I slapped him, mentally.
Her gaze turned towards me, now. Her orbs filled with surprise.
"You...did...it...for me?" she said as it registered in her mind.
"I wanted to undo my mistake" I had no idea what to say but this sounded right enough.
What she did next was far more beautiful than a peck on the cheeks. She hugged me, tightly.
At least 50 pairs of eyes were staring at us, but I didn't care. All I cared about at that moment was her, her happiness. She was all that mattered to me. First time in my entire life, I felt proud of myself. Ever since my childhood, I have just lived for myself, thought about me and worked for me. But today, seeing her happiness due to my little call gave me some weird kind of happiness. I liked this feeling.
I smiled and hugged her back.
"Thank you, Randhir, thank you so much! I love you!"
I froze.
