Reys house- rey sitting down with that same senior person whos obviously rey s dad and talking

Blah blahblah..." btw rey, i met your ..that girl whom you referred.."

"taani? Usne tho mujhe bataya nahin...tho.." he sat expectation written all over his face.

His dad looked at him now openly surprised and asked," mujhe kuch kehna chahiye ?"

"nahin dad sorry.main bas.." rey suddenly realised he was over enthusiastic

"rey.." dad looked at him and thought better ask," she s a friend ya girlfriend hain"

"ummm aaa...haan ...girlfriend hain" he was embarassed now

"okay...so serious about her ?" rey nodded . his dad looked surprised," umm..thats surprising."

" matlab..kyun surprising?" his dad looked like he was thinking how much to talk and how to talk while rey looked surprised, he asked," kya hua? Aap taani se mile nahin?"

"haan.. she s very sweet..very clear about what she wants to do . bohot pyaari hain"Reys eyes brightened at the praise,catching that his dad stopped and smiling said," anyway time enough ..tum abhi young ho..is umar mein aaj ka serious kal tak kuch aur banjaatha hain" rey realised that his dad was changing the topic and wondered why," you tell me tumhaara dance academy ..."

The bell rang...rey got up and went to the door, opened and found taani- all upset looking

"rey " she began even before saying hi," main itni stupid kyun hoon! " he looked confused

"mere princi ne kahaan ki mujhe college waapas jaana hain!"

"what? but why?"

"kyunki mera project maine jaldi finish karliya...aapko pata hain? main itna busy kyun thi? 4 months ka project do hafthe jaldi kahtam karna tha mujhe and mujhe laga ki main freely aapke saath time spend karsakhoongi 2 weeks! But maine stupidly princi ko batadiya ki mera kaam finish hogaya hain and he said tho taani come back " rey s face fell- no wonder she was overworking herself ..and all for no use..looking at the disappointment in his face, she felt more bad.

She put her arms around his neck and tears filling her eyes up," mujhe nahin jaana yahaan se aapko chodke ..itni mehnat ki thi rey so that kuch time aapke saath miljaaye freely! Aur main itna khush thi aaj" and sniffed . he realised his dad was around but he couldn't get a word inbetween, stuck between embarrassed at being cought by his dad and feeling bad that she had to go. She realised he wasn't hugging her , moved back and asked kya hua? And then happened to catch sight of rey s dad watching them. Blush appearing clearly on her face, she freed him, moved away and said, sorry maine aapko dekha nahin!

Reys dad ," i can understand, tumhe abh kuch bhi nahin dikhega! But you can come in and ...then feel bad. Andher aajao." Both walked in , she was going to wipe her eyes with her hands when he offered her tissue, she took it still not meeting his eye..," rey introduce nahin karwaaoge?"

"but dad aap mile na?"

"DAD!!!" taani s voice suddenly came out as a loud cry, she looked from one to the other and blush spreading over her face ," aap rey ke ...dad ho?!" and thought no wonder he looked familiar. Rey grinned at her shock and looked at his dad saying "thats not fair dad"

Dad smiled broadly and said," sorry... hum log itne interesting baatein karrahe the , i forgot to tell you ki main rey ka dad hoon" seeing her mind running in all directions ," don't worry tumne aisa kuch buri baat kahaan nahin rey ke ya mere baare mein jiski wajah se tumhe abh sochna pade" she didnt know if he was pulling her leg, he smiled as rey laughed ," dinner?" she hesitated and shook her head, his dad said," cmon itna upset ho tho kuch khaana chahiye" and moved to the table.

Taani looked at rey nervous; rey pulled her by the arm grinning at her whispering its okay chalo.

Dinner table- rey and his dad served themselves, taani served herself but she couldn't eat. Both of them noticed it , rey tried to make her comfortable , reys dad ignored it and turned to rey

"tum kya kehrahe the apne dance classes ke baare mein?"

" wo..blah blah blah...in these two months we have met two investors and it hasn't worked ...blah blah " eating in between,"...blah but thankfully we have re started doing performances like once in a month tho we can just about manage. In fact teen din baad hain...ZZZ college mein annual fest keliye "

"kya? Aapka performance hain ?" taani asked , he nodded. Her face fell-( that meant he wouldn't be free even the next two days) he waited," nahin kuch nahin " and went back to pick at her plate nervously. Rey looked at her again realising that she was upset about having to go back to her college.

He turned to his dad , " and dance classes college mein has started but god knows why- we have lost few students and we are not getting any new so jo bhi earning ho rahin hain its not enough for all of us" reys dad looked at taani - all the enthusiasm that he had seen in the afternoon had disappeared.

"taani tum bhi inke team ka part ho?" she shook her head," u r not a dancer?" she shook her head again

"seekh rahin hain dad, in fact she is our most consistent and first student" rey smiled at her

"aur tum is college se bhi nahin ho?" reys dad asked her frowning, she shook her head," so how come you guys met?"

"main.." she began but rey cut her with," main taani ke bhai ka best friend hoon" with a serious face. Taani turned to him and caught his eyes smile , felt her own smile coming up remembering thats how she had insisted on introducing him to her college friends ," haina?" and smiled fully

Reys dad ignored the silent conversation that went on and looked at taani , she turning to him," main isi college mein last sem tak thi aur .."

"so rey then u should ask taani why u r losing students. She has a business mind and interest"

"dad but humein business nahin karna hain..humein dance sikhaana hain"

Rey s dad looked at taani, she looked at rey her expression saying that he didnt undersand what rey s dad meant but didnt openly say it.

"yes and for that you need students.. mujhe koi problem nahin hain if you teach one ya 100 beta. You yourselves will be disappointed " he said with a finality in his voice .Rey was beginning to get upset, taani looked at him and then at his dad, he smiled at her .she returned the smile and said to her ," now im not interested in telling you what to do reyaansh, waise bhi tum wahi karnewaale ho jo tum chahoge - all im saying is that you are giving me many chances to comment on the way you are handling your things bas.." rey opened his mouth but his dad smiled, held his hand up and turned to taani and said to her " ab agar tumhaara mood teek hain tho..."

"sorry mujhe suddenly..." she smiled apologetically ," laga ki saari plan stupid tha"

"its okay, hotha hain but i guess u learnt something from it"

"haan...sirf hard work nahin smart work karna chahiye" she replied sheepishly, rey smiled though thinking of what his dad had just mentioned.

He grinned at her looking like rey again and she smiled back genuinely," see that makes you look better...but now tell me - tumhaare family mein.. ?"

" joint family hain. tauji, nani maa, bhai, didi, taayji..."her eyes brightened

"tum hare dad?" he interrupted .

"nahin hain" she replied without much feeling," aur ma bhi nahin. Bohot saal se"

"oh sorry i ..." rey listened , he hadn't spoken to her about her parents.

"no uncle its okay, mujhe bura nahin lagna chahiye, sab ghar mein mujhse bohot pyaar karthe hain"

his phone msg beeped at that moment and he excused himself and saw the message ,replied and when he looked back at taani- rey was trying to get her to eat something..he heard her say sab ghar mein mujhse bohot pyaar karthe hain and thought and koi isse samajtha nahin and looked at rey now actually worried

taani found him staring at them and signalled to rey. He smiled at her and said, " excuse me both of you, mujhe kuch kaam baaki hain before i sleep.. rey tum taani ko ghar drop karoge na?" rey nodded," tho taani see you ..you can join office if you want to.. remember!" and moved to her side of the table, patted her on the head ," waise im going to try your idea and see if it works...if it does im going to pay you for it" and smiling at her walked off.

Both looked at each other rey raised his eyebrows at her- she said- aap apne mom/dad ke ek photo nahin lagaasakthe ghar mein..kitni embarrassing thi!

reys car- near swayams house

rey and taani in the car- both looked at each other , rey sighed and pulled her into a hug.she hid her face in his chest wishing she just didnt have to move from the place..after an extended moment, he moved her back and said-" leave it now.waise bhi tumhe jaana tha ..ab no more blaming yourself. and tumhe khush hona chahiye, tumne dad ko itna impress kiya - you have a job ready with him."

she smiled a little, nodded and got down-" thanks rey for ...everything" and turned to go. She had walked a few steps while she heard him call and heard the car door open/close- turned to see him in front of her with a smile - before she realised what was happening, he wrapped a stylish stole around her neck and walked back two steps to check how she looked, his eyes lit up at her cute surprised expression that became happy as she held the colourful stole in her hands, suddenly her life didnt seem so dull.

"rey! Maine mana kiya tha" he shrugged," kahaan mila finally?"

Putting his arm across her shoulder, " don't ask.maine sonali se poocha where she bought it from and..." she placed her hand on his cheek sideways and pulling his face closer, kissed his cheek.

He smiled ," see this is why i got it, tumhaari pyaari si kiss keliye...but u know the funny part, that girl is weird- she kept staring at me , and then when i said ki mujhe taani ke liye lena tha she stared at this" he lifted his pendant - taani burst out laughing remembering what she had told sonali about the chain long time back. rey looked at her not understanding why she laughed but she moved her hand to his pendant and pulling him closer by the chain said," shayad usse yeh chahiye tha"

He looked at her , face close to him , fingers pulling him by the chain and her eyes suddenly happy - every sad feeling removed and felt his heart lurch up,he was going to miss her like hell! He gave her a quick kiss on the lips and then not satisfied, turned her and kissed her forcefully... as much as he had consoled her, she knew from the kiss that he was going to miss her as badly as she was going to miss him..she pulled back for a breath and her finger still holding the chain pulled him , both looked at her finger and his chain and smiled.she left the chain and moved back.

"kab jaarahin ho?"

"kal shaam ko.." he frowned," aapki performance hain do din baad tho aap waise bhi busy honge tho main kal hi ..." he could never get over the fact that she always thought of him.he gave her a quick hug and as pulled out, she said," ab jao rey...aapke dad bhi hain ghar mein" and smiling pushed him towards the car.
