ArShi SS: Insecurities
Chapter 3
Prologue
The basket ball match is going on and everyone is cheering for Arnav and Sheetal while Khushi felt left out. She felt a lump in her throat watching Arnav and Sheetal laughing. Khushi looked amused and hurt at Arnav laughing carelessly to a joke cracked by Sheetal. Soon the basket ball match got over and everyone is walking back to the car. Since the car is parked on the other side of the road they have to cross the road. Arnav caught Aarav's hand while crossing the road along with Sheetal. Akash and Payal walked together while Mami and NK walked along with each other. Nani and Anjali is crossing the road talking while Khushi was all alone walking behind them. She is walking slowly looking down and lost in her own thoughts and was not aware of her surroundings. They all reached the other side.
NK: "I really enjoyed it mausi ji." He told Manorama who was complaining about the sun being to hot and her make up got spoiled.
Naniji: "Yes NK babua. Khushi bitiya did a good thing by suggesting this game."
NK: "Talking about her where is Khushi ji?"
Anjali: "She is here..." She turned to her side looking for Khushi but did not find her anywhere. "Arreyy! Where did she gone?'' She wondered out aloud. NK looked to the road and saw Khushi crossing the road slowly looking down.
NK: "There she is.." He informed everyone pointing at her. Suddenly his face became horrified and he screamed her name gaining everyone's attention.
NK: "Khushi ji... WATCH OUT..." He screamed.
Khushi looked up hearing her name and looked around and saw a truck speeding towards her. Arnav looked horrified at the sight in front of him. Everyone just stood there shocked. Khushi was numb and she didn't move from there in fear. She wanted to move but she felt that her leg is not moving from there. She closed her eyes tightly preparing herself for the harsh hit by the truck. Suddenly she felt some one pulling her back. When she opened her eyes she saw Payal hugging her tightly and a shocked Akash who was looking at her almost in relief. She closed her eyes and hugged back Payal who was now crying. She was pulled back from the truck by Payal. Payal and Akash didn't cross the road as they stopped for buying a bottle of water. They turned back hearing NK's scream and saw a truck speeding towards Khushi. They both rushed towards the road and Payal pulled back Khushi before the truck could hit her and hugged her fiercely. Arnav and others rushed towards her. Arnav pulled back Khushi from Payal and hugged Khushi tightly to himself. He felt as if he stopped breathing when he watched the truck coming towards his Khushi. He pulled back from the hug.
Arnav: "Why are u saw careless Khushi? What if i lost u?" He barely whispered due to the fear of losing her. He again hugged her tightly but Khushi didn't hug him back. Tears made it's way from his eyes. Akash and others looked shocked at the sight of Arnav crying. Because they saw him crying for the first time in their whole life. He acted as a strong man in front of others.
Nani: "Bus Chotte! It's over. She is safe now." She tried to console him. He pulled back from the hug and kissed her forehead.
Arnav: "No Nani. Since I met her I always saved her from everything, But today... I couldn't...If Payal didn't save her..." He became very emotional.
Anjali: "If u were this much worried u should have walked with her and should not left her alone Chotte.." She told him angrily and took hold of Khushi's hand and walked from there and others followed leaving Arnav who just realized his fault. He saw Aarav and Sheetal waiting for him and he walked towards the car and got in. He drove away from there. In between that he glanced at Khushi and but she didn't look at him. She was resting by keeping her head on Anjali's shoulder who was caressing her hairs lovingly. There was a deadly silence in the car as no one spoke.

Some days passed from there but there was a difference in Khushi's behaviour. She talked less. And everyone thought that she was shocked from the accident. One day evening Akash and Arnav returned from the office and everyone was sitting in the hall.
Akash: "Hi everyone! I got the deal which i was working hard for." Everyone congratulated him.
Arnav: "But he have to go to US for that for 1 month." Everyone face became gloom hearing that. "But don't worry i will make sure that he came back before that. And Payal u should go with him. Right Mamiji?" Manorama immediately agreed as she don't want her Akash bitwa to became pale by not eating home made food. And it was decided that they will go to US with in 1 week. In these days Sheetal got job in AR itself as designer and Aarav got admission in a reputed school due to Arnav's influence. But Khushi is not the same. She used to smile and talk with everyone but she was not the same. And no one didn't notice this that much except Anjali. Arnav was always busy with Aarav. He used to smile whenever he saw Khushi. But something was amiss in their relationship. But Arnav was not aware of this.
