Oh good...gautamji telephone couldn't have come at a better time.
Now KKGSR will leave do all that she can to ensure that her Di now has something to engage her.

How long can Di get her happiness from just her family she needs to do something of her own to be really happy.
I am so glad that khushi will ensure that Di gets her share of joy and happiness.

Looking forward to read the rest now.

Sorry was down and out due to cold hence the delay in replying. So finally this is the story of Anjali growing into a strong woman. Loved the way you are progressing the story of each and every character. First Dhruv and then NK and now Anjali. Can't wait to see what our dear KKGSR is going to do now. She is definitely going to pitch her mad cap idea to her Arnavji who is going to fight tooth and nail to it and then in the end will agree to the same idea. Isn't it. Looking forward to the next update.

Part - 2

The next Sunday morning, Arnav was ensconced in his study, going through the household accounts when a grinning face poked in around the door. "Ijaazat hain toh hum andar aa jaayein, huzoor?"

Having not seen his wife around much, except for bedtimes, for the past couple of days Arnav sat back and nodded, his inscrutable gaze firmly on Khushi's face. "Toh ab yaad aayi tumhein ki tumhara ek pati hain?"

Her face immediately scrunching up, Khushi shot back, "Aahaha! Shuroo hua Laad Governor! Kal subah aapko taiyyaar kisne karvaaya? Naashta kisne khilaaya? Bus kal shaam ko thodi der kuch aur kaam mein vyast rahi toh Laad Governor bol rahe hai ki hum apne pati ke baare mein bhool gayein?!"

Smiling wide, Arnav got up and stalking towards his wife, who started her trademark retreat at his advance. Cornering her against the now closed door, he stood gazing deep into her eyes even as he leaned close against her heaving body. "Ab tak toh tumhein pata hoga naah, ki main tumhare presence ke bina ek pal bhi nahi reh sakta? Toh itna kyun staati ho, hmm?"

Her ire melting away at the total earnestness in that whispering voice, Khushi threw her arms around her husband and hugged him tight. "Humein maaf kar deejiye... par humein kuch zarrori taiyyariyan karni thi, aapke saamne ek business proposal rakhne se pehle."

That got Arnav Singh Raizada's attention.

"What?! Business proposal?"

Grinning wide at the stunned look on his face, Khushi quipped, "Ji haan... Business proposal. Kyun, hum kya aisi waisi koi housewife hain? Hum ek bahut bada businessman ki ardhanngani hain, samjhe aap?"

His amazement still rendering him speechless, Arnav could only gaze down at his grinning wife as she leaned her head against his chest again, and updated him about Gautamji's phone call from the previous day. Leaning away to look up at his face, she continued, "... aur humein ek aur cheez ke baare mein aapko yaad dilaana tha..."

"Kahin... KKGSR Catering service ke baare mein toh nahin?"

Smiling in delight at her apparently brilliant husband, Khushi exclaimed, "Arre, waah! Yeh huyi naah baat! Isse kehte hain do dil aur ek jaan... hain naah? Lekin yahan toh baat doh dimaag aur ek idea ka hua!"

Chuckling at her enthusiasm, Arnav pulled her close. "Toh kaun hoga tumhara catering company ka partner? Payal?"

Shaking her head against his chest, she replied, "Nahin... aap guess keejiye...Aur waise bhi, yeh ek aam catering company nahi hoga..."

"Achcha... toh kuch alag karnewali ho?
That's good... aise hi hum market ko capture kar payeenge.
Ok, Payal nahi toh... Buaji? Nahi?
Ok, Amma aur Babuji toh Gupta Sweets se busy hain, toh aur kaun ho sakta hain?
Hmm... well, a wild guess, Mami? Woh bhi nahi?...
Ok, got it, must be Dhruv, waise bhi har pagalpan mein tumhara saath denewala toh woh hi hain!
Huh? Woh bhi nahi? Then who?", he snapped, now losing patience.

Grinning wide at the small victory, Khushi replied, "Di!"

Turning around to see if Anjali had come up to the room, Arnav turned back with a confused look, "Huh? Di toh yahan nahi hain... wait, Di?! What the! You mean thumhara partner Di hain?"

Sensing a disagreement in the making, Khushi started to huff and cross her arms in a defensive posture, but taking one look at his worried face, decided to go with her instinct, which had never failed her when it came to soothing her husband. Putting a gentle palm on his cheek, she stood waiting for him to speak, her patient silence going a long way in diffusing his flickering temper.

Looking down at her in consternation, he asked, "But Khushi, Di? Do you think she'll be able to handle the stress of a catering business? And dealing with vendors, suppliers, clients... it'll be too much for her!"

Her tone light, his wife asked in return, "Really? Anjali Singh Raizada, jo AR ke shurooat mein ek Executive Board Member thi, jo apne-aap AR ke Design wing ko sambhaali thi, jo ek MBA holder hain... uss Anjali Singh Raizada ke liye, yeh chotti si business mushkil hoga?! Arnavji, aap bhi naah... ajeeb baatein karte hain!"

Seeing the stunned look on his face as Arnav realised that in his frantic efforts to shield his sister from the big bad world, he had forgottten all about the strong-willed business woman she had been, Khushi continued, "Aur ek baat, Di catering business nahi karegi. Woh toh humara department hain naah. Hum ek alag proposal lekar aaye hai, humare commander-in-chief ke saamne."

His eyes narrowing as he spotted the wicked grin on his wife's face as she threw Dhruv's long-standing joke at him, he nodded for her go ahead.

"Hum ek wedding-planning business shuroo karna chaahte hain. Zara sochiye, Arnavji, catering hum sambhaalenge, mithaayi Amma, Babuji aur Buaji dekh lenge, Jiji aur unki 'Abhilaasha' ke auratein shaadi ke dresses dekhenge, aur Di... Di yeh sab kuch ke PR sambhaalenge, aur unki sabse chaheeti kaam - venue ke design sambhaalenge."

At Arnav's surprised gaze, she went on, "Arnavji, parsoan, jab Di humein unke art aur design work ke baare mein bata rahi thi, toh unke chehre par aisa kuch dekha humne jisse humein pata chala ki woh bhi apna hi kuch khaas kaam karne ke liye kitna utsuk hain. Bus aap ek mauka de deejiye humein, koshish karke dekhne ko... please..."

Looking down at that earnest face, Arnav sighed. His eyes misting over at the love and concern she had for every single person associated with him, and how carefully she had planned this to give his sister a second chance at achieving something of her own, he gathered her close. "Thank you, Khushi... for making my family yours... for making me yours..."

Bending down to kiss the top of her head as she hugged him back, he continued, "And as far as giving my persmission goes, I repeat...Tum jabse chaaho shuroo kar sakti ho, jahan se chaaho operate kar sakti ho, aur jise chaaho partner banaa sakti ho... And I know ki tum Di ka utna hi khayaal rakhogi jitna ki main rakhta hoon."

Looking up straight into those dark hazel eyes, shining with adoration, his wife whispered, "Hamesha..."

************************************

A little while after lunch, which was always a grand affair on Sundays with Madhumatiji being given a standing invitation by Devyani and a no-nonsense order by her Arnav Bitwa, Arnav and Khushi knocked on Anjali's door.

"Khula hain, andar aayiye...", Anjali called out from her corner table, where she was busy writing up instructions for the domestic help.

"Di..." Arnav called, making her head jerk up. "Arre, Chotte tum? Aur Khushiji bhi? Kya hua?"

Flouncing on to the couch near the table, Khushi pouted, "Kyun Di, kuch hone par hi hum donon aapko visit kar sakte hain?"

Waiting till her Chotte too seated himself on the couch, on the side near her chair, Anjali grinned, "Kya dialogues maarte hain aap, Khushiji! Waise toh aap humein aksar visit karte hai, lekin yeh janaab toh koi khaas wajah se hi humare kamre mein aata hain. Toh boliye, kya baat hain?"

As her brother took her hand in his and outlined the plan of starting a business of Wedding Planning, she sat bolt upright, one palm over her mouth in stunned surprise. Her eyes flicking back and forth between her brother and his wife, she sat for a long moment after he stopped speaking, and finally, gently extricating her hand from his, stood up. Taking two steps forward and grabbing her sister-in-law in a tight hug, she whispered, "Thank you, Khushiji..."

Even as she hugged her Di back and smiled over her shoulder at her moist-eyed husband, Khushi asked, "Thanks kis baat ke liye, Di?"

Leaning back to look at her, Anajli said, "Humari tanhaayi ko pehchaanne ke liye... woh baat samjhne ke liye jo hum kabhi kisi se keh nahi paya... apne Chotte se bhi nahi..."

As she reached over to put a loving palm on her brother's face, Khushi chuckled through her tears, "Arre, hum bhi ASR ki biwi hain. Business ke liye jo faizla theek tha, humne bus woh hi kiya. Itna experienced Designer-cum-Manager humein aur koi mil sakta hain, kya?"

The emotional moment dissolving into laughter, the threesome pulled together into a group hug.

************************************

The annoucement that was made at the dinner table was met with shocked silence at first, broken by loud cheers from Akash and Dhruv, who remembered the old Anajli of AR Designs, and were delighted to know that she would be getting back on her feet, finally. The fond tears of her Nani, Mamji and Mamiji becoming her undoing, Anjali too wept silent tears of loss and hope, washing away all that she had lost with those precious droplets and begining to look forward to hope-filled tomorrows.

And when everyone had settled down and the discussion on naming the new venture started, and began getting out of hand with Dhruv, Khushi and Akash nearly coming blows over it, Naniji called out, "Bus, bus, bus... hum iss ghar ke badhe hai, aur hum chunenge iss vyapaar ka naam."

Looking over at her grand-daughter with affection and hope, she smiled, "Ek nayi shurooat hain, toh Devi Maiyya ke naam hi lenge hum... Annapoorna..."

Author's Note:

Aww you made me nostalgic... amdist all that is going on, was missing Arshi, you give this emotional story 😭
Loved the everyday quality of the Arnav-Khushi conversation... Their love has this sense of stability in it, that makes me very happy. Yeah like always, Arnav's over protectiveness comes on, but he has changed so much that he sees Khushi's point straight on!
This bijinezz is really extensive than i thought! The whole Gupta family and Anajli into it --- it is bound to get successful. Now I am really eager to read Anajli's story!!

Dunno whether u update before new year, so - Happy New Year Aparna and Vignettes readers! 🤗
