When Raghu and Avay reached at the police station, it was almost dawn. They felt a lot of movements inside the police station even before they entered. A lot of people were busy in setting all the instruments and technical machinery to trace the IP address. Suddenly Raghu felt nervous...

The cyber crime branch is here. All are ready to find out Sameer only on the basis of my assumption that Sameer would answer Antara's e-mail. If he doesn't answer, then what should I do?? I should make a plan B. But there is no plan B. Antara's consciousness is going to be back any time. I have to be quick. Even if Sameer is traced and we reach to him; will we be able to make him agree to come back?? After all he left the wedding on his own. No one forced him. At least taking his laptop with him proved that he was not kidnapped at least. God knows what will happen...

Avay's voice brought him back.

Avay: What happened bro?? Don't worry!!! We will find him.

The inspector came and said- Mr. Singhaniya!!! I think I do not understand one thing. Why did he take his laptop with him?? His phone is switched off. Definitely he did that because he didn't want to be found. But then he took his laptop?? It will give us opportunity to trace him right??

Raghu: May be there are some important documents in his computer which are needed.

The inspector: Then those documents must be saved in his laptop. What is the guarantee that he would use internet??

Raghu: We have to take some chances. Nothing is certain here. We have to assume na?? And as you are in this profession, not me; you know it better. At least we should trace him to be sure that he is not kidnapped.

The inspector nodded and said- Ok, Mr. Singhaniya!! Now everything is ready. Ms. Antara Sharma's account has been hacked. Now what will be the message??

Raghu started thinking...

If Sameer was scared of marriage and to avoid this relationship, he left; then I have to be precise about it that he feels relaxed from Antara's message and answers her something. There should be no tension or emotional stress in the language of the e-mail. If there is any hint of pressure, then he will be scared again and there is a chance that he won't answer anything. No, I have to be careful.

Raghu said to the police man in front of the computer: I will dictate, you can write that.

Hello Sameer, I can understand that why you did not show up in our wedding. May be we were too quick to decide about this relationship. May be it was ME, who pressurized you to marry me. Raghu and Avay were talking with the inspector. Avay had already spoken to Antara's father. She was still unconscious!!! When Raghu started to get impatient again, a police man came and said- Sir ...come quickly!!! He answered.

Raghu almost ran in front of the computer. The answer was-

I can't come home!!! Forget me and forgive me for dumping you!!! Please be happy and healthy!! Good bye Antara!!!

Avay: What does that mean??

Raghu turned to the cyber crime officer and asked- have you traced the IP address??

The officer: Yes, it's 15 kilometers from here. It won't take much time. Let's go and catch him.

Raghu and Avay followed police cars with their own car.

15 kilometers away...

After 20 minutes, they were standing in front of a motel.

The inspector: So, he is staying here?? Let's go to the desk and ask about his room number.

The inspector: Break the door.

Two police men started hitting the door knob with their legs. Within a few minutes, the door knob was broken.

Everyone entered in to the room with raised guns and then...the scene they saw...it was quite unexpected.

A man was lying on the bed and he was pressing oxygen musk with his own hand on his mouth.

Raghu noticed that the man was completely terrorized. There was fear in his eyes.

The inspector: Mr. Singhaniya!! This is Sameer. Look at the picture which I collected from his house when I was searching it.

Raghu looked at the photo. It was HIM.

Raghu came near to that man. He sat beside him.

Avay: Raghuveer, what are you doing??

Raghu looked at Sameer. He was still in ventilation.

Raghu turned to the inspector and said- We will need an ambulance here. I think he is terribly sick. The inspector came closer and saw that...there was a bucket kept beside Sameer's bad and there was blood inside it.

Raghu: (softly) Hey, you don't know me, but don't worry. I am here just to talk to you.

Sameer slowly removed his ventilation and said - I am not going home. I don't want to let them watch me like this. Please try to understand.

Raghu felt very strange for a reason when Sameer talked to him but he ignored that feeling for now.

Raghu: But you are sick and you need them to take care of you.

Sameer: There is no need to take care of me!!!

Raghu: Why are you saying that??

Sameer hesitated. His breathing was getting abnormal. So, he put his ventilation again.

The inspector said: The ambulance will be here in a few minutes.

Raghu waited for his answer.

Sameer's breathing got normal and he said- Whoever you are, just leave. There is no way now..except ...that I will DIE!!!

Raghu: Don't say that. Doctors hai na?? Your parents will get you treated. You will be fine.

Raghu knew that something was missing. A grown up man like Sameer won't leave his shaadi just because he is sick. But he wanted to hear the reason from Sameer's mouth.

Sameer: Can't you understand?? I am very sick and in this situation, I can't marry anyone. It will destroy her life.

Raghu: Then why didn't you tell about your illness to your parents??

Sameer: Because I myself became sure about it last morning Dammit!!! I didn't know that the reason of my coughing, sore throat and difficulty breathing is LUNG CANCER!!!

Raghu was shocked and so was Avay!!! The moment Raghu saw him on bed in this condition in an infamous isolated motel room in the middle of the night, he got a bad vibe about it and he was correct. Sameer was suffering from fatal disease. But still Raghu didn't lose hope.

Raghu: Ok then!!! Often people suffer from cancer. It's very common now-a-days. The doctors can still help you.

Sameer lost patience, he sat on the bed and said- You didn't catch it, did you?? I am in my last stage. I will die in a few days. My condition is deteriorating very quickly. There is no other way.

Raghu closed his eyes. His last hope is gone.

Raghu: But then why didn't you diagnose it before?? You have been suffering from these symptoms quite a while right??

Sameer: That was my mistake!! Arre wahi to afsos hai!!! I didn't take it seriously before. I didn't go to the doctor. I didn't talk about it to my dear ones. I thought that I caught cold and it will be ok in a few days. I was so happy about my wedding that I ignored everything. Then when I had my haldi rasam in my house, I had blood in my cough!! I went to the doctor and they did some test of me. The test result came yesterday morning and it said that I have lung cancer.

Sameer was in the verge of crying when Raghu comforted him.

Raghu: did you speak to the doc??

Sameer: Yes. He said that he can do the last try for me!! He said that he will keep me updated by mailing me. For that reason, I have my laptop with me. He suggested some more tests and I was trying to collect those medicines secretly in this hotel room which the doc suggested in his e-mails. But now I realize that kya hoga aur test karke?? I am dying by the way. I didn't want to ruin Antara's life so I left home.

Raghu: I can understand Sameer but you did this to save Antara's life right??

Sameer: Yes. I want her happy...wait why are you saying this way?? How is she??

Raghu- When you left her; she got hyper and met an accident.

Sameer: WHAT??

Raghu: But don't worry. She is hospitalized and will be fine very soon.

Sameer got silent for some time.

Raghu: If you really love her, then you will tell the truth to her. See, if you just disappear from her life like this, she will find herself guilty and will never be able to happy. She will always think herself unworthy of any man's love because you dumped her in her wedding and it will make her think that it was her fault. If you tell her the truth, then she will get time to prepare herself to lose you and by that time she will also learn to move on because she will know that it was destiny that separated you two, not her fault. Please think on my words.

Sameer looked at Raghu and then he said very slowly- Are you sure??

Raghu: Of course I am sure. The same case is for our parents too. At least let them try to save your life. You are the only child. If you really die, then at least they would have that satisfaction that they tried. Let your mother spend some last moments with you, let your father see his son's face some more time?? And you can also make them prepared to accept your departure.

Sameer was at first hesitant, but then he slowly said- Ok, then!! I am ready to go with you.

Raghu: Great!!! The ambulance is already here I think. (he looked at the inspector and he nodded in affirmative) So, let's go!!!

The para medics team came and took Sameer down stairs.

Avay: Ufff!!! Man, you know what?? You are a rock star!!!

The inspector: He is right Mr. Singhaniya!!! I didn't know that you are such a good counselor and motivator!!! You made him change his mind in such a professional way!! We didn't have to force him. Thanks!!!

Raghu: Inspector, did you tell his parents that we have found him??

The inspector: I told them the half truth- that we found him. I didn't tell about the cancer part!

Raghu: Good!!! I think we have to take it slow. He is the only child.

Avay turned to Raghu and said- Waise, I noticed that you didn't tell him about Antara's complications.

Raghu: yes, same reason. Just take it slow. Bechara is going to die.

Avay wanted to talk to Raghu about a thing but it seemed a little weird in front of the inspector. After a while, the police man left the room signaling them to follow him. Avay nodded.

Raghu was silent.

Avay: Hey man, did you notice that?? I hope you did. When he talked and when he stood up to go downstairs...

Raghu: Ya I noticed. Now I know why Antara called me as Sameer. His voice is exactly like mine and his height too. During the accident, when I was telling her to push herself outside the car, she thought that Sameer had come to rescue her. For that reason, she got the strength to put herself together and get out of the situation.

Raghu suddenly felt a pain in his chest. She doesn't even know my existance. That's good. I will silently leave her life. She is in a compromised situation now. I will make sure that she is happy and healthy. Then I will be back to my life.

Avay gestured him to go downstairs and he followed.

Part 9: The beginning

Inside the police van:

The inspector called Raghu. He was tensed.

Raghu picked up the phone. He said- Hello!!! What's the matter??

The inspector: Mr. Singhaniya!!! I got a phone call from the ambulance. Sameer is coughing severely and he is spiting blood. And 5 minutes ago, he lost his consciousness. I think we have to take him straight to ICU.

Raghu felt a shiver down his spine. No, no ,no!!! He can't get sick now. He has to make Antara ready for this loss. He has to tell her that she has no fault in this. Omg!! What should I do now??

Raghu: Then do it Inspector!!! I am just behind you in my car. I am also reaching to the hospital. He must be kept alive. OK??

The inspector: Ok!!! I am trying to reach hospital as soon as possible. His condition is very critical.

Raghu hanged up. Oh GOD!!! Help me!!

The hospital:

Sameer was immediately admitted to the hospital and his parents were asked to meet with the doctor who was attending Sameer.

Raghu and Avay reached there. Raghu turned to Avay and said- Mera Bhai!! Mere liye ek kaam karega?? Please tell everything to Sameer's parents. I think he is actually dying. I don't want the situation to be more complicated. Just tell them about his cancer. Let them cry, shout and then slowly they will accept it. Take them to the doctor . I know, it's very difficult to tell the parents about their only son's unavoidable death but we have to do that.

Avay gulped. He said- Aren't you coming??

Raghu: Nahi!!! Issi liye to puch raha hu!! I am going to talk to Antara's doctor now. I have to know about her present state.

Avay gulped again. Ok!!! I am going. I will try to tell them in sensitive decent way.

Raghu: I am sure, you will.

Avay left. Raghu took a deep breath and headed to upstairs.

In front of Antara's cabin:

D.S: So, that's the reason why he left my daughter?? He is dying??

Raghu: Sorry to say but yes. The doctors are trying to save him but I don't know what will happen. We have to be prepared for the worst.

D.S: OMG!!! I know my daughter. She is very emotional. We can't say her anything about Sameer's cancer NOW!!

Raghu: But Uncle, we have to!!! Kab tak chupayenge??

D.S: Beta, she is still unconscious. We don't know what will be her complication and you are talking about telling her the truth?? No, I won't allow that.

Raghu: Of course uncle I know that she is in complicated medical situation. I am not saying that we will tell her everything as soon as she is conscious. We will wait to let her become stable at first and after that we will tell her.

D.S: I don't know. I know only one thing ...that is- I only care about my daughter's health now. Nothing else.

Raghu realized that Mr. Sharma was in a very emotional state and he didn't catch the fact that Raghu was trying to save her from emotional bruises. If she is kept in darkness for long time, it would become very hard for her to accept the fact that Sameer is gone and she has no fault in this matter. But it's ok. He would eventually understand.

Raghu suddenly heard something. It was coming from Antara's room. He took a look inside it and the scene he saw...he didn't expect it...

Antara was sitting on her bed. Raghu almost skipped a heartbeat. She is awake and what the hell?? How is she sitting?? She is supposed to be damn weak. And why ...WHY IS SHE LOOKING STRAIGHT IN MY EYES??

Antara was looking at Raghu and he was lost for some moments but he remembered that the doctor must be informed about her gaining sense. He gestured to D.S who was sitting beside him on the chair outside the room. He understood the gesture. He entered into the room.

D.S: Antara, mera baccha!! How are u feeling??(He was on the verge of crying)

Antara: Papa!! Papa!! It's so dark...Why is the place so dark??

D.S: What?? But It's not dark beta!!! May be you are sleeping for a long time and suddenly all the light has been blinded you for a while. It will be ok very soon.

Antara: But papa I can't see you!!! Why I can't see you?? WHY I CAN'T SEE YOU??

She was gradually getting hyper. She was trying to get up from the bed but there were so many pipes connected to her that she couldn't and that made her angry.

WHY IS EVERYTHING DARK?? WHY CAN'T I SEE??? UFF PAPA!!! WHERE ARE YOU?? I AM SCARED OF DARKNESS. U KNOW NA?? UFFF ...WHY IS SO DARKK??

D.S looked helplessly to Raghu for help. He was completely blank. He couldn't hold Antara anymore. The saline pipe got disconnected and blood was coming out of her veins.

Raghu almost ran to the doctor's chamber. He told the doc everything.

After a while, 3 nurses were trying hard to calm Antara down, she was still hyper. Doctor had no other choice but to give her injection for sleeping. She slowly got asleep.

Raghu came forward then. Mr and Mrs. Sharma also followed him. They reached to the doctor chamber.

Raghu: What happened to her??

Doctor was at first a bit silent, then he looked at Raghu said- The complication is- She has lost her eye sight.

Antara's mom started crying and D.S was very hurt after hearing that.

Doctor: I am sorry to say but I can't even assume it precisely that when she would get her vision back and even I can't assure you that whether she would get it back at all. And she has also got some mental confusion along with blindness and you have to take care of this. No stress and no disturbance.

Raghu: Is her confusion long lasting?? I mean she will be at least mentally healthy soon, right?

Doctor: Yes, she is. It's only for some hours now that she is very hyper and aggressive. After that, she will calm down but just take care of her. She must be kept out of all worries.

Now Raghu was really in a massive confusion!! What to do now?? When she will be awake, she will definitely ask for Sameer and he is right now struggling between life and death. OMG!! Why no one sees the fact that even if everybody tries to calm her down, she won't. She will soon suspect something wrong if Sameer is missing for too long and then...she will be hyper again and that won't be good for her mental health. What to do??

Avay appeared. He signaled Raghu to come out of the doctor's chamber.

Raghu: What??

Avay: Bad news!! Sameer has been taken to Singapore for his treatment and his parents have already headed to the airport.

Raghu: What?? His condition deteriorated kya??

Avay: Yup and the doc suggested to take him to Singapore.

Raghu: Ab kya karenge hum?? Only Sameer could make her understand that it's ok to move on. He was the one to free her from her guilt.

Avay: I don't know. We have nothing to do now. We have done enough.

Raghu: BUT THIS IS NOT ENOUGH!!!

Avay got shocked watching Raghu's sudden outburst.

Avay: Dude, we are running for this girl for the last 48 hours and you are saying that this is not enough?? What is in your mind, can you tell me?? Why are you so worried about her?? When her parents are here to take care of her, then what's the problem??

Raghu: Because her parents is not thinking it clearly. They are only planning for today, not for tomorrow.

Avay: And you are here to plan for her future, huhh!!! Look at me!! You are no one in her life. We decided to go to her wedding only to ask her some question and now it appears that there is no place for that question now because her life is in a mess. So, just leave it. Everything we did for her, that's out of humanity, it's ok. BUT, what you are doing now, that's additional. It's not needed. Just give the charge to her parents now.

Raghu: Then what are you suggesting?? I should go home, take a bath, get a sleep and forget everything.

Avay: No, I am not saying that. Of course, you will care for her. But that care should not cross the limit. You have your own life and you have a family. You can visit her and keep in touch with Sharma family but what you are doing now is more than enough!!!

Raghu: God Dammit!! What am I doing??

Avay: You are worrying too much for that girl.

Raghu: HER NAME IS ANTARA!!

Avay: Look, you are even possessive about her name. You are thinking about her freedom from guilt. You have started to think from her point of view. You are upset that Sameer was taken for better treatment to Singapore. Arre his parents has full right to try to save their son. But you are stuck to your plan of convincing Antara to move on by Sameer. Arre just think once from Sammer's POV. And now God knows what else you are planning for her. She is not an orphan. She has parents.

Raghu closed his eyes to calm down himself. I know you are right!!! I know I am too much involved in this matter but how can I tell you that even I don't know why I am doing all this?? I just want her happy, nothing else. I can no longer defend myself. I am tired now.

Suddenly there was a loud sound in the corridor. Raghu realized that the sound was coming from Antara's room.

Raghu ran to her room. She was awake again.

The doctor was trying to calm her down but she was crying terribly. She was so sad.

Antara's mom was trying to pacify her but she was so restless. I CAN'T SEE!!! OMG!! I CAN'T SEE!!! OMG!!! FOR THAT REASON HE LEFT ME AFTER SAVING ME RIGHT?? HOW CAN I BLAME HIM?? WHO WANTS A BLIND WIFE?? OMG!!! I AM BLIND. I WANT TO BE LIKE BEFORE PAPA!!! SO THAT HE RETURNS TO ME. NOW I KNOW WHY HE IS NOT HERE. HE HATES ME NOW. OMG!! I DON'T WANT TO LIVE ANY MORE!!!

Raghu could not stop himself. He came forward and it just came out of his mouth...

Antara!!! It's not your fault!!! No one can leave you just because you can't see. Calm down!!

Avay(under his breath): Shut up Raghu!! She will think you as Sameer again.

But it was too late!! Antara suddenly stopped crying. Then again...this happened again...she looked straight in to Raghu's eyes.

Raghu felt as if ...as if she was actually looking at him.

Suddenly a sweet smile appeared on her face.

Antara: Sameer, you are here??

Doctor understood that there was a misunderstanding here. But it was for good. He gestured Raghu to come forward. Raghu came closer to Antara.

Antara expanded her hand toward him. Raghu could not understand what to do. He just took her hand and then...

She took his hand in her another hand and kissed on it.

Raghu was shocked.

Antara: Can you come now?? Bahar Baarish ho rahi hai!!!

Raghu: And??

Antara: (hesitated) I want to enjoy rain with you!!!
