Like Hershi stated earlier, we're not targeting this particular author. We've come across complaints about spamming occurring in several other threads and we've dealt with them just the same. Now, if you have seen threads that have spamming in them, and nothings been done, it hasn't been reported. And there's no way we can go through each thread posted at this forum. However, that tells us that you saw the thread, didn't report it.. which means it's best if you not complain about it. =]
Finally, members are wondering why instead of just a note posted, why did the entire thread get locked? Because we've posted a note before about the same in another thread of the same author. That thread was not locked. In that thread, we had requested that spamming stop or else closure of the thread may occur. Did we close it? NO. Then we come across a report stating that the same for the same author again, IN LESS THAN A MONTH. Of course we're going to lock the thread this time.
As for what constitutes as spamming.. we've went over this multiple times guys. =/ You either really want to know and adhere to the rules or you just want to protest every single time action is taken against spamming.
Members are stating that there were only a few 'update soon' comments which is not true. We don't just go through two or three pages of a thread before posting a note or locking it because we understand that, that would be unfair. We go through the thread thoroughly and we went all the way back to almost 5 or 6 pages where there were several comments asking for an update. =/ If we were to remove the poems, we'd definitely have at least 3 or 4 pages of the update comments. Not acceptable. A comment here and there can be let go off. Not this many. And even if there aren't many comments, the reason why the thread was LOCKED was because it was the second time we were taking action against the same author. Had it been the first, we would've merely posted a note, a reminder to curb the spamming as much as possible. But if our warnings are ignored, we are forced to take further action to maintain decorum in the forum.
So, yes. Poems are allowed. 😃 AS LONG AS THEY ARE RELEVANT TO THE STORY.
After that note on 'Khwahishein', I'm sure you have seen that there was no more 'spam' there, without my doing anything about it.
Not that I knew what to do at that point, since I never realized that the Mods expected the authors to reprimand their readers for supposed 'spam'.
But now that I know, I have posted a note on my new thread about this, despite my reservations about the issue.
I haven't come back on this thread to discuss what is or isn't 'spam', because I have really accepted that it is beyond my understanding.
I have returned to understand the reason why someone reported my threads.
What bothers me is that someone has a problem with navigating through my threads and finding the updates. These members have obviously felt strongly enough to report the issue, and I am struggling to understand how comments on Page 130 onwards of a thread can hide an update on Page One.
Isn't this why this thread was reported? Or am I confused again?
I wish that whoever it is approaches me first, and refrains from going to the Mods who can only lock the threads and can do nothing about helping them find the update.
However, if the reason for reporting the 'spam' on two of my threads within a month (as the DT has just pointed out) isn't just for ease of navigation, then it is purely intent of a different kind altogether. And that isn't something that I like to think about at all.
With that said, I'll go back now to writing my update, which is the only reason I'm still awake, after all.
