Setting:-

The story is set in Mexico, Paris, Turkey, Pakistan and India.

Prologue:-

"Don't be stupid Shifa... its dangerous. Your going there is not gonna help!" Ershah roared on the other side of the phone. Shifa swallowed the lump in her throat and shook her head as if trying to clear the mist in front of her eyes; the mist that not only boggled her vision but her thinking too.

"You are staying where you are... do you understand?" His tone leveled; he wanted to calm her down after all.

"Sorry Ershah..." She stammered. The next thing he heard was the phone being slammed back on the cradle. He groaned almost pulling his hair apart.

"No Shifa..."

She ran in hasty broken steps smearing past the bars, cafes, boutiques and restaurants that lined the bank along the Canal Saint-Martin; One of the happiest parts of Paris. But today it dripped the bubbles of gloom everywhere. Shifa finally made it to her Cafe; the one she had grown up with; she was there at its construction, at its inauguration, at its renovation and now fate had planned its devastation in front of her very eyes too.

Yellow flames melted the place into thick impenetrable fluid which amalgamated with the silver ashes. There were cries, there were creaks and there was this monstrous hum of the blazes. Somewhere far she could hear the fire brigades blaring. Every reverberation pierced into her ears. Something was still blocking her vision but she was too numb to pull the blind aside.

Her eyes drifted up towards the board reading Chuchotements Cafe'(Whispers Cafe) which was half angled towards her. Her senses instilled her to pull away but she found it difficult to move an inch. It finally came thrashing down mere inches away from her.

Infused by the intoxicating oxidation she landed on the pavement.

"Shifaa!!!"

Ershah's voice echoed inside her mind. With her eyes heaving to pull shut the last thing she witnessed was his face followed by his voice getting fainter and remote.

"Open your eyes Shifa... open them damn it!" He stammered but she was by now voyaging in the valleys of unconsciousness. He took her in his arms and yelled for an ambulance.

The pro was so captivating! i loved loved loved it! poor shif but the best part was Ershah coming to save her! they seem to know each other already! and Paris? yahooo! i love it already!
