My dear Kunchu,
I am in a way glad that you got this day off before you joined and not after; that would have made you feel disoriented. This way, you can start with a fresh slate today, Tuesday. Best of luck for the first day on the job!
This is a sound update, and I was pleased to see that you have clearly brought out the inevitable public criticism of Arjun Rawte's involvement in a murder case where his father is the principal suspect. I really liked the way Rathore tackled that criticism, both when he countered those 2 men firmly and unequivocally, and again later when he stopped Arjun's public involvement with the case. The ETF has to be like Caesar's wife, above suspicion, and seen to be so.
Arjun's stubborn insistence on his active involvement shows a lack of understanding of how the public's mind works, and of how his overt role in the investigation will only discredit even an end result exculpating Mr. Rawte Sr. , since it will be seen as having been manipulated by his son.
I had noted earlier that this story will be only tangentially about the murder and more about the stormy relationship between Rawte Sr. and Rawte Jr. I see that the next instalment of this ongoing saga is just around the corner!
I find Vadhera a very interesting character, a man of surprising integrity who is deeply disturbed when he learns that his firm has won a contract thru unfair means. There are not many businessmen anywhere in the world who would try and reverse the process purely because he does not tolerate cheating, even if it was done without his knowledge.
