SS: Allured part 3
She sat on a bench in a farm and watched random kids playing around. Her heart ached even in the dream because even though she was around people, no one was noticing her.
She looked around her in search of someone else when she saw a little boy with bright blue eyes, practically glowing in the blazing sunlight, as he walked towards her. Her eyes hurt from the brightness when he walked closer to her, however it seemed he was floating more than walking - he was that graceful. She couldn't rip her eyes away from his striking features. He was beautiful - possibly the most beautiful child she'd ever seen. His skin was flawlessly smooth as was his blonde straight hair. His cheeks had just the perfect amount of pinkness to them and his blue eyes seemed like a tropical ocean. She was sure she could have drowned in his looks alone.
Once he was standing right in front of her, he placed a hand on hers and she gasped from the coolness of his skin. She found the corners of her lips turning up when he smiled at her with his glossy pink lips. "He's waiting for you," he said softly but his gaze was powerful.
She shuddered despite sitting in a warm setting. "Who is?" She mumbled and her lips had gone completely dry no matter how much she tried to moisten them.
But she never got a reply. He just let go of her hand and then he was gone. She looked into the field and the playing kids also disappeared.
She stood up and as she took just one step forward, the ground under her feet felt different. She looked down and she was standing in a feet of snow. She lifted her eyes and everyone was white. The trees, the barn house; everything.
"What's happening?" She asked under her breath and the more she breathed heavily in anxiousness, the faster and colder the winds got. With her heartbeat slowing, and her limps freezing to the point that she couldn't move anymore, she fell in the snow and stared up at the grey clouds.
She felt her system shutting down. Not only was she not able to move, she no longer felt anything. Her face muscles froze and her heart was barely beating. She closed her eyes and prepared to face her death.
"Stay me with me, Khushi," she heard his voice echo in her ears. "Khushi," his voice sounded clearer to her and she knew he was now with her but she couldn't open her eyes. She could feel her lashes freezing as frost formed on them.
"Hmm," was the only sound she managed to make.
She felt his head come down next to hers and fit in the crook of her shoulder and neck like a puzzle piece. "I'm with you," his voice came like chimes in her ears. "Don't leave me now," he sounded desperate but she didn't think she had a choice. She was freezing to death after all.
She huffed out a gust of air - or rather the little air that she was getting - when something warm touched the side of her face. It was his hand.
"Take yourself away from here. Remove yourself from your misery. Think of hope. Think of light. I'm here. I'll always be here," he was saying to her and his words were greatly affecting her because within moments, she opened her eyes to tall green trees all around and green grass beneath them. The cold weather had also completely diminished. She was neither cold nor hot. She was in the perfect state.
She lightly brushed her fingertips against Arnav's hand that was still pressed against her cheek and kindly moved it away from her face.
"You did it," he said with a smile.
She turned her head to the side to look at him and her heart skipped a beat at their proximity. They were barely two inches away and yet she couldn't bring herself to move.
She bore her gaze into his honey brown eyes and although he wasn't smiling anymore, his face still held happiness.
"So you're not just a dream," she said and he lightly shook his head. "I'm real...at least only in this world."
"Then how am I seeing you? I told you; I don't know you."
"You do," he said softly. "You've never seen me in the other world but your subconscious mind created someone based on your ideals."
She turned away from his face and looked up at the treetops, behind which the sun shone.
"I was engaged. His name was Sebastiaan. He was ideal..."
"I'm not saying he wasn't. It's easy to find those special qualities in people. You found them in Sebastiaan and slowly forgot about me."
"You don't make sense. I am highly unimpressed with your way of explaining things," she said bluntly and then heard an incredible sound. It was his laugh. His booming laughter that filled the space around them with his feelings of amusement and joy. His laughter was so great it even made the corners of her lips lift a bit, but only a little bit.
She quickly sat up when he did and faced him.
"I'll give you an easy explanation," he began. "Do you know how a lot of people talk about their dream man or woman? That perfect person that they think of but because they are perfect, they can never be found in the other world. Not to be too self-centered but I am your dream man but you found yourself someone that you loved in the other world so you never gave me much thought afterwards. Does that make sense?"
"You're calling yourself perfect?" She snorted a laugh while her eyebrows shot up.
"I'm not calling myself perfect; I've been created off your ideals so really...you think I'm perfect." He suppressed a chuckle when he saw her doubtful smile fall and her cheeks turn pink.
Khushi stood up and turned her back to him. "Well aren't my thoughts attractive," she mumbled under her breath. She was about to turn when her shoulder bumped into his chest and she caught her breath in her throat. When did he come up behind her?
"Were you saying something?" He had a smirk going on and she was afraid he heard her.
"Nothing," she moved away and casually walked around the clearing. She'd look up every so often and smile at the sunrays that were beaming between the tree branches and leaves.
"Why aren't we changing? We've been in the same place for half an hour. That's not usual here is it?" She asked while Arnav was sitting on a rock by a tree. She was almost sure the rock wasn't there before.
"What do you want to see?" He got up and walked to her in his jeans, black combat boots and black tshirt. Could one also change clothes in this world? Khushi wondered. Her question was answered when she looked down and she was wearing a red cotton short dress with black flats. She took a lock of hair in her hand and brought it front of her only for her eyes to widen in shock. They were lusciously shiny and had the perfect curls.
"How do you like your outfit?"
She raised her confused eyes at him. "Did you do this?"
"Of course not. I mean I can, but I find it would inappropriate to dress you to my liking...not yet."
She pursed her lips and rage built in her for his stupid last words. And while he was getting a kick out of her expression, he became cautious when the ground under them started to rumble and the trees curled in towards them as they were dying by the second.
"Hey, relax!" He yelled when a murder of crows nearly blackened the sky above.
"What? What's happened?" She asked in fear. She screamed in horror by their disturbing sounds and their threatening glares to come at them.
It was becoming a natural thing for her to be protected by Arnav in her most dire times. His arms encircled her with his biceps protecting her head, and her face towards his chest. She grabbed onto his torso to draw herself closer to him.
"The longer you remain in your panicked state, the more it's going to effect you," his voice was so incredibly calm and overtaking the caws of the crows. "Calm down. Take deep breaths. Take yourself away from here."
"Well...you definitely got yourself away..." Arnav snickered and Khushi pulled her head away to see them standing in the middle of a herd of sheep. Her jaw slightly dropped. Of all places, she made them end up on a farm?
She immediately forgot about that when she felt Arnav's hands slide down her back before they landed by his side. She hoped that he wouldn't see the goose bumps that formed on her bare arms.
"You don't have very imaginative mind," he stated as he looked down at her muddled look.
"The place I live is a little town. I guess I think of...farms a lot," she chuckled at the realization.
"Then allow me to take you to someplace you've never been," he said with a sexy smile and a cocked eyebrow that she dumbly stared at. "Okay..." she simply mumbled.
His hands raised and rested at her shoulders. He took a step towards her so they were nearly plastered together and leaned his head in a bit. "The key is to relax," he said huskily in her ears and simultaneously ran his hands down the length of her arms until he held them in his grasp.
He straightened his head a bit to look down at her. Her head was tilted up as she was staring up at him and she thought of how he could easily duck for a kiss but was interrupted when his irresistible voice reached her ears again. "Can you do that?"
His eyes sparkled along with his charming smile when she meekly nodded her head positively - almost robotically.
The moment she realized the change was when the sound of vibrating guitar strings reached her ears and then the uplifting rythym of the music. She pulled out of her gaze and looked around her. They were standing in a square with countless other people around. She looked back at Arnav and bobbed her eyebrows questioningly. Where were they exactly?
"Venice, Italy," he grinned widely seeing her expression change to an ecstatic one. She turned her body so she was paying attention to the guitarist in the middle of the square; effortlessly stealing everyone's hearts with his talent.
She had an impish smile on her face that she couldn't seem to wipe off. She wasn't even aware of how happy she was. She loved it all; the warm weather, the crowd of people - whether tourists or not, the riveting sound of guitar, and finally, the person who brought her to the place.
And then she remembered. Arnav! She was so caught up she didn't realize she was still holding on to his hand as his fingers were only loosely wrapped around hers. "Sorry," she said and pulled it away.
"It's okay," he replied but didn't push when he saw her look away.
When the performance finished, everyone around clapped and Khushi excitedly clapped along. "Now where to?" She asked him with anticipation obvious in her tone.
"We just got here! Let's enjoy the streets of Venice first before we move on."
They started walking down the streets when the ground under them shook again. It shook so hard that people fell to the ground and buildings were collapsing in on each other. The screams and cries erupted and Khushi was most terrified while Arnav barely seemed nervous. She grabbed onto his arm when it felt like the world was tilting to the side.
"What's happening?"
"You're waking up," he had a sad smile because she would be leaving him.
"What?"
oOo
Her eyes shot open and her mind processed the vibration sound coming from her phone on her bedside table. She rolled over and grabbed it when a smile crept on her face. Her best friend was back from Norway.
******
Hey friends! As you can tell, Khushi is slowly becoming attracted to Arnav. Can that be a bad thing? We'll find out!
btw, I hope Arnav's explanation helped answer some questions about him. Khushi has never seen Arnav in the real world and nor IS he from the real world. He is strictly from the dream world. Take care!
Awww beautifule update...
