Part 4

Shlok stands in his cabin and sees astha sitting outside through his glass wall and blinds... she is sitting and doing her work with a lot of interest and totally involved..

He keeps thinking what has happened to her in all these years.. what has made her change so much and so quiet..

The he goes back to his chair and calls her inside the cabin..

Astha enters his cabin and asks " yes shlok, u called me??"

" are u too busy?" shlok asks inquisitively

" yeah.. just the regular work.. why?" astha is surprised

" ok good.. come we will have lunch together and then we head for a meeting with a financer" shlok says and sits down on his sofa infront of his tea table.. " babu, get the food and get us 2 plates" he orders the pune..

The pune babu gets the food heated and plates for them to eat..

Astha sits down and sees that there is dal, subzi, roti and rice..

Shlok takes the plates and serves the food in them and hands over to astha to eat...

Astha is surprised and keeps staring at shlok..

Shlok has a shy smile and says" yep... its me shlok agnihotri who is eating home made food and not burgers.. so don't be so surprised " he says and asks astha to start eating and both have lunch together..

Shlok thinks of talking to her about her life and ask her what has happened in these years with her..

" astha... i.. i.. wanna ask u something??" he hesitates

" what happened shlok??" astha is bit concerned..

" actually.. what I wanna ask is... Hmmm.. will u be able to make the financial report for our new school after todays meeting?" he changes the question..

" me?? Are u sure u wanna give this work for me..i mean I haven't done all this for so many years.. and I don't know wether I am capable of doing it.." astha says rejecting him

" I am sure u will be able to do it astha.. I know how intelligent u are... its just that u need to get started again that's it.. and try it, if anything is wrong i wont blame u.." shlok tries to pacify astha..

Astha and shlok finish their lunch and astha thanks him and heads back to her seat..

Shlok sits on his sofa and gets into some thoughts again...

Invites you

To their annual college fest

" INFLORE 13"

Astha reads the message board with the invitation of a college fest.. she is all excited to participate in it.. lots of competitions are held in the fest and astha is very happy..

She reads down..

All participants can give their names to Sonia Sharma

Astha decides to give her name and goes to third semester class to meet sonia.. Shlok studies in the same class..

Astha slowly comes to the class and looks around from the door hiding.. she gathers some courage to enter the classroom and comes inside looking here and there.. suddenly she bumps into shlok.. and shlok who was drinking a cola drops everything into his clothes..

He looks at her in anger and irritation.. " what the hell!! What are u doing here?? This is not ur class"

" whats ur problem.. I came here to meet sonia.." she answers back in irritation

" hello.. how dare u talk to me like this??" shlok holds asthas arm tightly

" ok fine.. now if u dint stop bothering me .. I will let everyone know that cops were behind u and u came to my room to hide.. basically that I saved u" astha proudly blackmails shlok

" oh really.. and I will say that I saw u just in a towel in ur room.." he answers back proudly and walks away cleaning his shirt..

Astha gets tensed and looks back at him in agitation..

Suddenly a girl comes and asks " yes junior.. what do u want?"

" am sorry but I want to meet sonia" she asks nicely..

"yeah.. its me what do u want??" she asks

" sonia ji.. I wanna participate in the college fest competition.. please enrole my name.." astha asks smilingly

" hahah u!! are u serious.. u have no idea how hard is the competitions in this fest.. and u are just a new student in the college.. how much management have u studied yet?? So only 2^nd year participates okay.. chalo go now" she pats astha's back and asks her to leave...

" please sonia ji.. I have a lot of knowledge.. let me participate please..." astha begs

" look all the names are already filled.. so I don't have a vacancy.. if u want u can come to cheer us in the fest.. but more than that I cant do anything.." she says and leaves

Astha is heartbroken

It's the day of the fest..

And the big gang of students from AIHMS have come to St.Xaviers to enjoy the fest and make friends etc..

Astha made friends with Gauri and they both come to the fest to see whats happening..

" wooow gauri.. what a fest.. and a what a good college.. I wish I had a chance to participate" astha says

Most of the competitions are finished and one last competition is left.. that is the management quiz...

" oh god guys.. we are still in second position and we need to win this management quiz to be able to win the overall trophy" sonia is upset and tells Shlok the seniors group who were participating..

" ok don't worry.. we will surely win this too.. where is manav and suman?" sonia asks as everyone is worried about the same..

Suddenly everyone starts looking around.. only to realize that the quiz contenders have not come..

" what the hell.. where are they???" sonia asks in tension

" they must be right around.. don't worry sonia" one of the other girl says and they start looking around..

Shlok takes his phone and calls them only to know that they never made it to the fest as they were stuck in some major traffic in the city...

" oh my god.. now what?? We have lost this trophy for sure" sonia is agitated..

Astha is also present in the chaos...

" I will participate..please sonia" astha speaks up..

Everyone looks at her in surprise.. and some start laughing..

" astha!!! This is management quiz.. its damn difficult and its better that a 2^nd year participate.. u have just started college sometime back.. so how will have so much knowledge?" sonia tries to make her understand and walks away

The rules of the fest is that no student can participate in more than one competition.. hence all the senior students who came already finished their participation..

Astha starts walking behind her.. " please sonia.. u don't know.. I was a topper in college.. and even the enterance exam I passed with very good marks.. trust me I can win this competition"

Shlok keeps listening to astha as she keeps following sonia...

Suddenly shlok grabs asthas hand and takes her aside...

" so... u can win this haan??" shlok asks

" yes I can.. I am telling u..." astha tries to explain..

" ok fine.. I will give u a chance.. but u will have to do something for me..." shlok asks and astha wonders what..

Shlok walks upto sonia and says.. " ok listen I will participate.. and with me I choose astha..." he says

" are u sure shlok??" sonia asks...

Shlok smiles and nods..

Shlok and Astha get seated as the quiz begins... Shlok puts a paper and pen on the table as they start the quiz..

The quiz master asks the first question..

" what does the selling acronym AIDA stand for??"

Suddenly astha hits the buzzer... and the whole of their college crowd start clapping..

" ok Agnihotri institute.. can we have ur answer please.." the quiz master asks..

Shlok looks at astha... Astha writes the answer on the paper.. and shlok reads it..

" aaahh.. attention,interest,desire and action..." he says proudly..

" that's the correct answer" the quiz master says

Their college crowd start clapping.. and shlok waves to them in pride of answering the question.. and astha fumes..

Shlok had asked astha to let him shine in the quiz and make the college win then he will let her participate in the competition..

Finally shlok and astha win the competition... and the entire college croud scream and cheer up and they go and carry shlok as they win the quiz as well as the overall trophy for the college..

Astha stands in the corner and fumes as it was all her effort... she takes her bag and starts to walk away in disappointment..

As she is walking out of the college gate.. suddenly shlok grabs her and pulls her aside..

" hey !! thanks.. we won because of you" shlok says astha

" yeah right.. I can see that.." astha says in disspointment and starts to walk away again..

He again grabs her and corners her... "ok cool listen.. we won thanks to you.. but u know that I have an image to keep.. so... all this ..."

Astha is disinterested...

" ok listen.. I can make up for it... am throwing a party tonight at my farm house.. and u are invited.. bring a friend along if you like.. " shlok smiles and leaves..

" I wont come...' astha screams in irritation..

" ok tell me in the party" he says and runs to his friends..

But astha feels good and smiles to herself.. " idiot' she says..

precap - astha gets a bit drunk and a guy from their group carries her to a lonely area.. and shlok looks for astha in the party..
