-------The Silence before the Storm------
Kripa started school in NYU. For the very first time, she was happy school started. Now, she could concentrate of work instead of Angad. Also their was a dance show Kripa was preparing for. Kripa was Kripa again, independent Kripa. Although she truly did love Angad, she didn't want to be dependent of his presence.
Angad was walking around campus, when he saw Vedika reading her notes. He sat down next to her and blasted his music.
V- Your noise is bothering me
A- Your silence is killing me
V- Angad, don't start again, I don't want to talk to you
A- No one asking you to talk to me, I'm just asking you to listen to me.
V- No
A- But why? God, there are things you need to know
V- Angad, the unfortunate day I told you I loved you, I found out everything I needed to. I heard all of your crap that day, and I'm not willing to hear it again.
A- So you hate me for me not loving you
V- No…I hate you for….forget it.
A- Vedika…
V- Leave it Angad, just leave it. I don't want to have to deal with it again.
Vedika left, and Angad sat there silent…
As the days past, Meem and Hussein became better friends. Hanging out, dinners, talking on the phone…they seemed like a couple more then friends. Shazad was enjoying his dorm life. Away from parents and drama. He knew that this was it for him, after college it was straight into his dads business. He would be shipped to London. His father tried that once before too, but that was when Shazad was little and bugging him, his father asked the post man if he could take Shazad to London.
Meem was a diner with Hussein, and Shazad was there too. Just as Hussein went out to put a quarter in the box thingy, Shazad jumped in on Hussein's seat.
S- Missed me?
M- What do you want?
S- Nothing, I'm just sad you didn't invite me to breakfast.
M- What?
S- Or did you want to be alone with your boyfriend?
M- He's not my boyfriend
S- If you say so…
Just then Hussein came in.
H- What the hell are you doing here?
S- Hey buddy, chill out. Your table didn't have any sugar…Meem needs a lot of sugar in her morning coffee, so I just offered her some.
H- Are you don't offering?
S- Yeah…
Shazad lend towards Meem's cheek and lightly brushed his lip on them. He whispered
S- Good Bye my sugar.
Meem quickly backed away, and Shazad smiled and left. Hussein looked angry.
H- I don't like that guy
M- Shazad's just crazy like that
H- You seem to know him pretty well
M- Yes I do, you have a problem with that?
H- No…he just doesn't seem like someone you would like to hang out with.
M- Whatever…
H- I hate your whatever's
M (laughing) - Why?
H- You get all uncommunicative after your "whatever".
M- You seem to know me pretty well.
H- Yes I do.
M- Whatever…
Kripa was practicing for her performance in the gym, she was dong the mix of different Hindi songs. Shazad came in and started bugging her
K- Stop it yaar!
S- Sorry, but I'm bored now
K- Go study
S-……are you serious?
K- Shazad, my thing is tomorrow!
S- I know! Aren't you excited?
K- Very!
S- Nervous?
K- About dancing? Never But I wish Angad was here
S- Didn't I tell you to not take a "A" name.
K- Sorry, but I talked to him yesterday, he told me to tell you to video the whole thing and send it to him.
S- Of course you wish is my command…like I'm a jinni.
K- Thank you Jinni, now let me practice!
S- Bye
K- Oh remember…8 pm sharp!
S- Yeah I know.
Vedika sat by her window thinking, about Angad. What can it be? What was Angad's explanation for not loving her. She wasn't mad at him for it, she couldn't force anyone to love her. So why was Angad tying to explain? Troy came in from the back a scared her.
T- So what's up in your dramatic life?
V- Nothing…
T- That stinks, I wanted to hear some gossip
V- You loser!
T- Vedika…why wont you let Angad talk to you?
V- Because…
T- Because what?
V- I…I guess, I don't want for him to give me some great explanation, and for me to fall back in love with him. I don't want to want him to love me again.
T- Buddy…you cant fall back in love with him, because you never fell out.
V-…I don't want to talk about this anymore Troy.
T- Vedika, your always going to want Angad to love you…maybe he wont, although he'll be a fool if he doesn't. But maybe you cant have his love, at least accept his friendship.
V- I'm going to sleep
T- Just think about what I said…there are some things that are there, we just cant see it.
Troy kissed Vedika's forehead, and left.
It was Kripa's performance night. Meem came backstage to wish her luck. Kripa and Meem were good now. Friends, not best friends but friends.
M- Good Luck
K- Thanks, are there a lot of people?
M- 1000's! Nervous?
K- No, the more the merrier.
M- I love your confidence
K- Thanks…when you know your good, there's no reason to hide it. God, I miss talking to you.
M- Yeah…I know.
K- Lately, I've been hanging out with Shazad and myself. I miss talking to a girl.
M- Yeah I know what you mean. Well I should go
K- Okay, thanks again.
As Kripa danced, she forgot everything. Except how much she loved dancing. The music was all she could hear…After her performance everyone came up to congratulate her.
S- So?
K- What?
S- How do you feel?
K- Great!
S- The show rocked Krips
K- Aw, thanks buddy
S- So do you still miss Angad?
K…..wow! I totally forgot about him.
S- See
K- Yeah, I guess I'm not as dependent on him as I thought I was.
S- I knew you weren't
K- Shut up…lets get something to eat now.
S- Okay I'll be back in a second
Shazad went up to Meem, who was just about to leave
M- Shazad!
S- Oh I'm scared…id your big boyfriend going to beat me up?
M- He's not my boyfriend
S- Why not?
M- Huh?
S- I mean…you guys are always together, he likes you…so why isn't he your boyfriend Meem? What…or should I say who are you waiting for.
M- Not you for sure
S- We'll see
The next day at lunch, Angad was sitting alone eating, when Vedika came up to him.
V- Want to eat lunch with me?
Angad looked at her and smiled.
A- It'll be my pleasure
Vedika sat down next to him, and starting eating. Angad just started at her and smiled. Just then Vedika snapped
V- We are not friends…yet!
Angad just sat there smiling in silence.
