Part 16
Sakashi stood at the entrance of the mall.
Sigh inwards and step inside the mall.
She start her wandering around the stores. She step inside the store and would ask the salesman to show her latest outfits of today's fashion. She would touch the fabric and feel the materials, but would not purchase anything. She continue doing that until she enter the lift to go up one level. Inside the lift she examine the place slightly through her eyes.
12pm
Arjun leaning over Shree and watching Sakashi's close movements. He recalls how Shree fixed mini crystal clear diamond stud camera in her necklace (apart from mangalsutra) she wore. Arjun carefully studying her expression when the lift came to halt.
12:30pm
lift halts in between before it reaches fourth floor. Sakashi stood in far concern from the guy standing beside her. His face had scare (as someone scratched him). Brave Sakashi doesn't display her fear, but inwards she's scared of lifts (cause of getting trapped inside and without air for long spasm of time suffocates her). She tries to stay clam, but her expression change every moment.
1:35pm
Shree goes directly inside conference room where Rathore and Arjun having another argument over Arjun's successful plan that got Sakashi in slight trouble. Arjun notice different expression on Shree's face and question him "Sir, we lost contact with Sakashi. The camera I fixed in her necklace just blares out. I am worried if she's in" Arjun interrupt him "nothing going to happen to Sakashi. Shree give me pair of glasses that have camera fixed in it and mike to keep in touch. I am going to the mall in search of Sakashi" Rathore just glare at him.
Arjun ingore his glares and go with Shree.
2pm
Arjun enter inside the mall.
He notice many people gather around in circle. He break through the circle and find another body laying on the ground in pool of blood.
He can hear Rathore cursing him, but his heart know its not his wife. He know nothing can harm his Sakashi. His inner voice informed him.
His every step toward the body kept his breathe stopped from breathing. He turn the body over and sigh in relief because its not Sakashi. He get out of the crowd and inform his team to come and collect the body for postmortem.
He check his watch and realize its almost 3:30pm and no trace of Sakashi. His eyes scanning the place quickly in glimpse of Sakashi. He find Sakashi's necklace laying on the ground of second floor. His eyes trace the necklace trying to hear its story. His nostrils smears by the smell of gasoline. He quickly inform Chotu to trace out any information related gas pump near by the mall. He fallow the trail of gasoline on the floor.
4:35pm
Chotu discover many information. He inform Arjun about his finding. He told Arjun that many years ago their was a pump near by the mall, but it was shut down cause of false news and the owner faced many problems. His family had committed suicide after hearing about the scandal.
4:45pm
Trail of gasoline brought Arjun into a shop. Inside that shop he had seen five people arguing among themselves, but no Sakashi. His eye caught Sakashi's earring laying under his feet. He grab it and try to hear another story from it.
5pm
Rathore bursting out his anger on his team. Its been several hours since Sakashi's missing and plus its Raute's idea. He cursing himself for listening to his plans.
He doesn't know reason behind his anger, but he know somewhere deep down inside him Sakashi made a place in his heart. She may be Arjun's wife, but she's his sister. He misses the moment when Sakashi would call him Sameer Bhaiyya.
He sighed.
5:15pm
Arjun bang his fist on the wall.
He search every floor of the mall, but can't find Sakashi any where. He close his eyes and her smiley face popping up. He open his eyes and ran down the stairs. He didn't want waste time using the lift after realizing he trace every floor except for parking lot. His heart told him that his search would come to end soon.
His team caught him running and they follow him down the stairs "Raute, what's the matter" shouts Rathore, but Arjun in his own world reach toward parking lot. Arjun and his team spot Sakashi laying on the ground.
Every single of them rush toward her and watch Arjun go onto his knee and grab Sakashi in his arms clutching onto her tightly.
Arjun just caught hold of her tightly in his arms and start examining her. He sighed in relief after knowing she's breathing even after having few wounds. He carries her out of the parking lot into their vehicle.
Vehicle zoom out of the mall to its destination. And that is hospital.
7:18pm
Sakashi gain conscious and find herself inside the hospital room.
Liza sat beside her.
Her eyes search for Arjun "Liza, Arjun" "Sakashi, he's gone with Chotu to check some things out. He'll be here soon. Do you need something? Should I ring, Arjun Sir?" Liza informed her and asked.
Sakashi: Nahin, but I needed to tell him something important. When he come please wake me up. I feel extremely sleepy and tired.
Liza knew its heavy mediation doze effecting her.
7:45pm
Arjun and Chotu gone out in search of the owner of the gas pump. They came to know from his neighbour hood that after loosing his family his state of mind isn't in perfect condition. His brother has admitted him in mental asylum and move with his family away into another place.
Arjun and Chotu came toward their vehicle.
Arjun check his phone. He read the message from Liza stating Sakashi has woken up and would like to meet him urgently.
Arjun wants to meet Sakashi himself, but at the moment case is important (in his passion of solving the case he forgot Sakashi apart of the mission he plotted).
Chotu stop at the asylum.
Arjun and Chotu go inside the asylum.
Nurse: How may I help you?
Chotu: Can we please speak with the doctor in-charge of Mr. Ram Singh?
Nurse: Just one moment.
8pm
Sakashi woke up again.
Doctor come inside and rechecking Sakashi. Her report had come clear and decide to discharge her at the moment.
He inquirer about Arjun through Liza.
Liza inform him that Arjun Sir hasn't come yet.
Doctor leave message with Liza.
8:20pm
Rathore get a call from his mother. She inquirer about their arrival. He told his mother that they'll be late cause of the case.
His mother sighs and hang up the phone.
8:25pm
Arjun reach the hospital.
He goes directly inside Sakashi's room.
He saw Sakashi laying on the bed with her eyes close.
He greet Liza with nod who stood up to welcome him.
Liza excuse herself out of the room (giving the couple privacy).
Arjun touch Sakashi's hand.
Sakashi woke up by his touch "ap" her eyes startled or its the heavy medication effect.
Arjun: Haan
Sakashi: Arjun, mujhe tum se
Arjun: Not now. I'll just go and meet the doctor than we can chat peacefully.
Sakashi: Par
Arjun already left the room.
Sakashi tries to stand up, but loose balance because of weakness. Liza came in right moment and caught her from falling down "Sakashi, are you okay" she asked.
Sakashi: I am. Just felt little uneasy, but fine now. Just wanted to have some water.
Liza pour water into a glass from the jug and give it to Sakashi.
Sakashi drank it.
8:30pm
Arjun enter inside doctor's cabin. They get engage into deep discussion on Sakashi and health. Arjun discover that Sakashi suffering from stomach disorder that answer his question regarding her eating habit and the way she misses her meal making Virat hyper.
Arjun assure the doctor that he'll take care of Sakashi and her diet either if she's against it and won't hesitate either if she continue vomiting it out cause her stomach needs to get use to it.
Doctor gave Arjun to sign some papers than they shook hand.
Arjun left the cabin.
8:50pm
Inside the car..
Arjun drove and Sakashi sat beside him and Liza behind.
Sakashi wanting to share something, but Arjun isn't listening to her.
Liza checking her phone for any message.
Sakashi look behind and saw Liza busy "Arjun" he look at Sakashi quickly before he continuing driving "hmm"
Sakashi: Before we go ETF (Arjun look at her and Liza) can he go home and get few things otherwise it would be extremely late going to Auntie's place for dinner. Liza you don't mind?
Liza: No problem
Arjun nod his head after Liza's approval.
9pm
Arjun open the door of their lodge room.
Sakashi enter (while Liza stayed inside the vehicle) she enter inside the bathroom, but Arjun halts her "I just wanted to inform you that doctor advice not to let any water touch your wound on the back and head. Avoid taking shower today" Sakashi gave him pout and nod her head.
Arjun call Rathore and informed him about the stop at the lodge.
After he disconnect the phone another call came.
He answer it.
Voice: Arjun Beta
Arjun: Haan Choti Maa
Choti Maa (Sameer's mother): Arjun, how long its going to be? Your mother is dying to see her both son together.
Arjun: Choti Maa, it may take long. Why don't you have dinner without us?
Choti Maa (Sameer's mother): A mother can never eat without her kids. Anyways I heard that you stay in lodge with your wife. Am I correct?
Arjun: Haan! Par
Choti Maa (Sameer's mother): I don't want to hear anything. I haven't given birth to you, but always treated you equally as Sameer. I won't listen to anything you and Bahu are staying at my place from now on. So when you come (Sakashi came out of the washroom in robe) I want your bags in your hand. Understood.
Arjun: As you wish, Choti Maa
Arjun couldn't disappoint his Choti Maa. She always been there for him when he had difference with his own parents. He might be distance from his parents, but he loves them a-lot.
He hang the phone "Sakashi, Choti Maa want us to stay with her forever. So I would suggest to pack few things for now afterwards when we get chance we'll come back here and pack reminding things of ours" Sakashi nod her head. She knew packing won't take long cause they don't have many things here or nothing valuable.
Arjun went inside the washroom.
Sakashi open the closet and took out white short summer dress.
She wore it.
Arjun came out and saw Sakashi.
His eyes dislike the outfit and asked her to change it.
Sakashi: Par Ar
Arjun: We ain't going anywhere. Only for dinner so wear something decent. Now change. Liza waiting inside the vehicle.
Sakashi just grab churidar and rush inside the washroom to change. Meanwhile Arjun pack his important files and other things.
9:25pm
Arjun halt his vehicle at ETF building.
Sakashi and Liza enter inside. She gave everyone a smile "how are you feeling" Rathore asked her in brotherly tone instead of boss.
Sakashi: I am fine. Feeling much better.
Rathore: Glad you didn't get hurt much. I had doubt on your husband and his plans (Sakashi roll her eyes, agreeing with him). Let's go inside the conference room.
5min later
Inside the conference room, Chotu share his information and Aisha too. Arjun listening to them, but his eyes staring at something that Shree brought with him than left again.
Rathore's phone vibrate.
He notice his mother's fifth call for the day. He look at the watch "guys, let's call it night. We haven't found perfectly lead to choose from" everyone agree with him, but Sakashi finally shouts "you are right, Sir? Let call it a night for today and let another innocent soul get trashed. Why should we care? Right Arjun Sir" everyone stare at Sakashi and her outburst toward Arjun.
Aisha: What you saying? Do you have something to say?
Arjun: Share with us.
Sakashi: Finally, the great ACP Arjun Suryakant Raute as time to listen to me, but I believe you forgot that I was the one inside that suffocating elevator for how long and yet nobody dares to listen to me.
She glare at him and gave his own SYS method.
Rathore: Sakashi, please do share the news?
Sakashi stood up "Sameer, the person we are looking for is Vijay Singh" Now Arjun is stun and stare at his wife while Aisha asked her "how do you know? Its him behind these murder" Sakashi gave tiny smile "I know him Aisha" everyone stare at her.
Sakashi sigh
Sakashi: I and Vinnay oops I mean Virat know him through our high school days. He isn't great person, but always getting into problems and his father Om would always bribe the Principal to get Vijay out of trouble. And his biggest problem is me?
Sakashi close her eyes recalling those haunted moment inside the lift. She doesn't want to think about it or reveal it.
Aisha place her hand on Sakashi's shoulder. Sakashi gave her smile "wondering how am I his problem? Simple! I've expose him and his father publicly on award night in our school. Our old Princi Mr. Singh got fired from his job and Vijay got expelled. He couldn't bare it. That very moment he tried throwing acid on me, but I fought with him and drop acid on his feet and my nails left scratch mark on his face in self defence mood" Arjun's eyes wide up, learning that he hardly know the hardship his wife gone before their marriage and now he is wondering what those five years have been without him beside her after their marriage, but he's proud of her courage.
"Weren't you scared" Chotu asked.
Sakashi: Honestly, that night I was scared that I miss Dad the most. Recalling his protective arms around me and telling bed time stories until I would be asleep, but after his dismiss these memories are the only thing that comfort me and his picture when sleep is far away from me. Slowly I left school and move to London afterwards never heard or met Vijay until today. I only remember when I gain conscious inside that store I heard Vijay and someone talking about some pump that got lost because of something.
10 min later
Shree came inside gave Arjun envelop.
Arjun open that envelop and look at some pictures. Sakashi stood behind him. Her eye caught something or figure inside the picture.
She lean onto Arjun's shoulder to grab that photo.
Arjun and the rest notice her reaction.
Arjun: What's the matter? Sakashi
Sakashi: Arjun, yeh toh mera aur Virat ka Princi hai Mr. Singh
Arjun: Impossible cause these snaps are of a patient in mental asylum Mr. Ram Singh the owner of gas pump before it was shut down.
Sakashi: Arjun Sir, I don't forget people and their face. I know him. He's my ex-Principal who always supported Vijay Singh.
Arjun gone into thinking mode than left the room.
10:36pm
Sakashi's finding and Shree's photo solve the case with Arjun perfect method. It was a lie that Mr. Ram Singh was in mental asylum, but instead in Canada with his younger brother who is Vijay's father. Vijay confess that he stole Sakashi's paper in the LRT and took him ages to plan out his revenge in forcing Sakashi to commit suicide for destructing his life.
Arjun gave him meaningful lecture about those innocent girls' he destroy only on revenge base. He felt disgust at him, but lucky that his wife is much stronger than what Vijay had plan.
Chotu had arrest him.
