Day 1- for disha
rey's pov
I wake up in the morning...it was a cool sunday morning...i open my windows curtains and look outside...i saw some children playing outside...i saw some people jogging...some are reading newspapers...some are walking with their love ones...i turn to go back on my bad and first thing came in my mind was taani. I felt so bad when she was going to suside...i really felt bad for her...what made her to take that step...is she not happy in her life?? I dont know why but i felt bad when she is upset...i get ready and went to meet taani...i have to found first reason today...
"plz god ...help me..." i thought and took my keys of my car and drove to the address which i get from the school.
taani's pov:
The orphanage was always quiet and empty on Sunday mornings. Most children, which I must say are years younger than me, go off with the caretakers to mandir every Sunday morning.
The caretakers here gave you an option whether you wanted to go or not, but I was always preferred not to go, just because I was never the most religious person.
I sat at the long dinner table eating stale toast as breakfast with the only other girl in the orphanage that didn't go to mandir.
She sat across from me, ripping off pieces of hard bread, and dipping them into homemade strawberry jam that the caretakers got us all to help make.
"When do you think a mommy and daddy are going to come adopt me?" disha's soft voice asked, with blue eyes reaching up to mine with a sparkle dancing in them.
At only the age of six, disha knew a lot at her age. She was extremely intelligent, and knew more than the average six year old should. She knew that her mother left her on the stairs of the orphanage when she was a baby, but it never seemed to bring down her optimistic mood. She would always say that things happen for a reason.
"The right family will come and get you one day." I assured, taking a sip out of my coffee.Disha nodded, tucking a strand of her curly blonde hair behind her ears. "Okay." She muttered, taking her spoon, and eating the strawberry jam straight out of the jar.I held back a laugh, as I watched disha eat the jam messily. There was red jam all over her cheeks, but she was still too innocent and young to care about how she looked like.
The doorbell suddenly rang, alarming the entire orphanage with its loud bells. I got up from my seat, as I made my way over to the front entrance, pulling out the doors.My eyes reached up to Reyaansh Singhania.I frowned, as I bit my lower lip.
"Why are you here?" I hissed, as I pulled the door out wider for him to come inside "How did you even find out where I live?"i ask
Reyaansh stared up at the entire orphanage, noticing that it was rather large. He didn't know that I was an orphan, so he must've assumed that this was my house, that this enormous orphanage was my mansion.
"taani Who's at the door?" disha's high pitched voice called from the dining room, echoing throughout the entire orphanage.
I groaned, grabbing Reyaansh's arm, pulling him into the dining room with me. Just when I thought disha couldn't have made a bigger mess with herself, she now had jam in her hair, and all over her t shirt."dishu, how did this happen?" I asked her, rushing over with a napkin to dab her red stained cheeks. She didn't pay any attention to me, as her eyes casted over my shoulder to the figure standing behind me.
"Who is this?" she asked in a tiny voice.
I dabbed the napkin in water, trying to get rid of the mess she made on her t shirt.
"He's just some guy from my school." I muttered, giving up on cleaning the six-year old up. "This is never going to work. Go upstairs and take a shower before the caretakers come back."
Disha nodded quickly, giving Reyaansh another glance, before rushing up the grand staircase. I shook my head, tossing the napkin on the table of trash. I started to clear up the table, as Reyaansh helped me pick up the dirty plates.
"What did u mean by Caretakers?" he asked, carrying the plates behind me, as I pushed open the door to the kitchen.I licked my lips; dumping out all the trash as Reyaansh began to turn the tap on to wash the dishes.
"You don't have to wash them. I'll do it." I told him, picking up the sponge.
Reyaansh stepped out of the way. "So? What did u mean by Caretakers?" he repeated.
I pursed my lips, scrubbing the dishes clean. "our caretakers."
"Caretakers?" Reyaansh asked with confusion clear in his voice. "Don't your parents take care of you?"
I glanced at him, shaking my head. "No. They're dead."
Something must've clicked inside reyaansh's head, because he looked around again, noticing the many doors on the second floor. "Y- You mean, you live in an orphanage?"
I finished washing the plates, as I began to dry them with a dry cloth. "Yes, Reyaansh. I'm an orphan."
Reyaansh's green eyes sparkled with guilt, as he gulped. "Oh." ...He paused, as I raised an eyebrow. "But, we've gone to school together for seven years. How come I never knew?we just know only names of eachother??"
"Because no one knows, except for the teachers and all." I sighed, placing the dishes back in the pantries from they came from.
"Is this one of the reasons why you want to-"
"Die?" I cut him off, laughing bitterly. "You can say that. I mean, come on, Reyaansh. I'm turning eighteen in a year. No one is going to want to adopt a seventeen year old teen. I'm going to get kicked out of this place once I turn an adult, and what happens then? I can't afford college, or a place to stay in that matter. I'm going to end up on the streets and die slowly and painfully. Might as well get it over with sooner than later, yeah?"
"You still have a year." Reyaansh pointed out. "You can get a job now, and raise up for an apartment, then find a job, and go to-"
"It's not as easy as you think it is." I snapped. "You have parents to back you up and everything. It's better off I die now."
Reyaansh's face hardened, as he clenched his jaw.Why was this stranger so determined to save my life, anyways? What have I ever done for him?
"No." he said. "You're giving me ten days, right? I'll find ten reasons why you shouldn't die before that." said reyaansh
I smirked, pushing past him to get to the kitchen. "Good luck with that. Day one, where's your first reason?"
Reyaansh remained speechless, as I shook my head.
Disha came running down the stairs with dampened hair and a new t-shirt on. "tanvididi isn't back yet, is she?" she asked. I shook my head, ruffling her blonde head of hair. "Not yet." Disha sighed in relief, giving me a tight squeeze from my waist. "Can we go get ice cream once all come back?"
I laughed, kissing her forehead. "Sure."
"He can come, too!" she squealed, pointing over to Reyaansh.
I looked behind my shoulder, watching as a grin spread across Reyaansh's lips.
"ok..." reyaansh said and we gone out to eat ice cream.
We reach near an icecream parlour...
"i want strawbarry flavour" said disha ..
"ok...one strawbarry flavour kaka..."i said
"and which flavour you two want??" ask kaka.
"chocolate flavour..."we both saod at chorus...
We both look at each other...i look in his green eyes . I feel complete when i saw in his eyes...there is something in his eyes that give me relief...
"here your chocolate flavour..." said kaka.We both take our icecream and sat on a bench... Disha start eating her icecream...her face was covered with ice cream...
"dishu...eat properly darling...see u r covered with icecream...
I clean her face with my hanky ...we finish our icecream and went back to the orphanage.
"umm...taani...can we go in the park ???" ask reyaansh
"ya ...ok reyaansh" i replied and said to disha "dishu u go in i will be back in some time..."
"ok..."said disha and went in.
"lets go reyaansh"i said and we start walking toward the near by park.
rey's pov
I can see the love between disha and taani...i got the first reason...yes...i got the first reason...first of all...we have to become friends..."
no one's pov
"what is he thinking??" thought taani...
Both sat on a bench...
"u care so much for disha...isnt u??"ask reyaansh
"yes reyaansh..."said taani..
"first of all...call me rey...my friends call me rey..."said rey
"ok...but when we become friends???"ask taani curving her eyebrows...
"well just now...friends???"said rey and extend his hand.
"friends..."said taani with a smile and shake hand with him...
"so tell me about disha and u..."ask rey...
"well disha and me are just like two best friends...i help to get her ready...i comb her hairs daily...i take her to school with me...i take care she is taking her food properly or not...and ..."
"so your life is related with disha right???"rey cut her in between...
"ya...actually..."taani was saying this just then something went in her eyes...
"aahhh..."taani scream out a pain ful scream...immidgetly rey said"hey what happen???"
Disha who was standing at a window came down running...
"taani what happen...show me...''ask disha worriedly...
"nothing dishu...its alright now...u go dishu...did u complete your homework?"ask taani...
"ya ya going...u take care ok???"said disha...
"ok sweeti ...u go..."said taani and disha went back...
"so rey...can we go back...i think grany come back..." said taani..
"ok...lets go..."said rey...
Both went back to the orphanage...
"ok taani...bye...and ya meet me there...under that tree at 7 pm...i will tell you the first reason..."said rey...
"ok. ..i said and went in the orphanage...
Rey also went back to his home...
taani's pov:
"where were u taani??"ask granny to me worriedly...
"i was in the park granny..."i answer and went to my room.
I sat on my bed and thought
"he found the first reason...what would be...he know me so well that he found why should i have to live??? He know me so well in just one day...??but how??he come to know why should i live but i cant come to know about that reason...how silli i m..."
rey's pov:
Taani is an orphan...now i can feel her pain...being alone in whole world...she is so upset bcoz she doesnt have her parents...I came to know about taani and disha...the relation between the two is so pure...taani didnt think that if she died what effect caused on disha ...i have to tell her...
taani's pov:
Its 7 pm...i went near the tree where rey told me to come...i wait for him for 5 minutes and then he come...he was wearing a simple black t shirt and a black cargo pant and a sleeveless yellow jacket ...he was looking extremly handsome...
"hi taani..." said rey and and i came out from my thought..."why the hell i was thinking about him???"i murmered slowly...
"did u say something??"rey ask..."ummm...no no...nothing"i said.
"lets seat there"he said and we both sat on a bench...
"so...tell me the first reason rey" i ask him..
He stand up and kneel down infront of me and held my hands which were on my things...
I feel a chill ran down through my hands when he touch me...
"listen taani...life is so beautiful ...just enjoy your life no matter what...enjoy it without any care ...just forgot all your worries..."said rey...
I stand up and said:"so u r here to tell me all this"and i start walking...
"disha.."he said and i stop hearing her name..."what disha???"i ask him.
He came in front of me...the cool wind is playing with my hairs ...my hairs were coming on my face...he took the strands of hairs and put them behind my ears...and then put his hand on my cheek...dont no why but his this action gave me so much relief...he said caressing my cheek:"plz dont die taani...and the first reason is disha...u know how much u care for her and she also care for u same as u for her...u dont know taani if u die what effect will be on her...her day start with u and end with u taani...just think about it..."he said this and hit his forehead with mine and left from there...
I went back...all the time i was thinking about his first reason...after the dinner ...its time to sleep...i went in disha's room.she was sleeping hugging her teddybear tightly...
"is rey right???"i thought..."yes we both care about each other so much..."i thought again..."but there is only one reason...its not enough ..but i think rey was also right...urrgghhh...this is so difficult..."i kiss her forehead and went in my room in waitting for the next day and the second reason.
