This chapter was one of those which are heartbreakingly beautiful, which leave you feeling a little hopeful, a little scared and most of all crying melodramatically.
I like all the 'ly's', specially since its coming from you whose stories make me do these 'ly's' and more.
Mammu jaan is sort of enigmatic. For the life of me, I cannot figure out the underlying intentions behind his questions, his rhetoric statements, actions. He scares me, I'll give him that, but there is so much more to it than only fear. A layer. you are effectively hiding from us OR maybe my haywire brain is just looking too much into it.
Maamu-Jaan, I will admit, is one character I am having a lot of fun writing. Its like you take everything bad, twist it and then some and there you have a facet of Maamu-Jaan...yet I would like to believe he is still one to be unraveled and I shall leave him to do the honours himself.
And yes, I didnt answer your question but then again is it a question I can answer?
Now Arnav, *sigh*. Its almost difficult to imagine a person belonging to a world as shady as his, to be so acquainted, well versed with his emotional side. And boy, he manages to twist our hearts with every thing he was feeling. And I agree with Nafisa when she says you make us live every feeling, every thought that flits through his mind. This chapter highlighted what I meant when I said sometime before that you make me emote like no other. I mean the dim lighting, the smoky silhouette it adds to the gloom, the darkness of the situation. But, somehow when Khushi walks in, I (forget Arnav for a minute here), was literally soaked in strength, and hope. She has so much will power, so much love that it sort of overshadows everything else in the room. I wanted to jump into that room and hug her, that's what I felt. Also, this sequence brought about a very important notion, they are like the only family the other has. They can depend , completely on each other. I think that was showcased in that scene where he drops her home, initially. Then that line about him trying to find that little boy he once was, so sad, so poetic, sheer brilliance here! Something more I found poetic, and mesmerizing was the eye contact they had when Khushi smiled and he replied with his eyes. That was so powerful, so wonderfully written. I think that would be proof enough for anyone else in the room to know how much they love one another.
Oh Sona. Thank You so much for such kind heartfelt words about my writing. Its just very heartwarming to hear your favourite writers talk like this about your work. Thank You so so much! And also so glad you caught the little nuances...not that I had any false thoughts that you wouldnt. :)
Loved the chapter, and continue soon. I'll also keep repeating what I said before, even though it has no scope of making a difference :P
Try not to make us cry so much!
And I will keep repeating what I said to this earlier - I only tell a story.
