Lalit Chaudhri was checking some files and he looked up, Khushi was there.

"What happened? You look tensed..come here..have a seat.."

"Nothing serious Dad..just a bit of work load..".

"Samrat told me that you are having another kind of work load, that day you eloped with .."

" Dad..you want me to tell everything? Dad , it's complicated..and please, Samrat is nobody to me, once we were involved, but now it's over..please, you want to keep good terms with Zakhads, okay..but Samrat has no place in my life.."

" I am not imposing Samrat, I am talking about that mystery man, who literally abducted you that day from highway and dropped in front of this house..who is he? Is he serious about you?"

"Dad..spare me this nonsense..stop it.."

" You stop it, Khushwant..you are with Samrat on a highway at midnight, then someone picks you up from there..you are saying Samrat is nothing to you and that man is nonsense.."

"What you want me to do actually?"

" I don't care what gossip people make about you, but it's high time you take your life seriously..your practise is set, you didn't join my business, perfectly fine..Zakhad's friendship is not that important for me where your life is concerned...in short, I am talking about your marriage..your mother and I have found some good matches for you, meet them, you have the final say, we will go ahead as per your choice.."

Khushwant was walking along the college corridor..she heard some low tone comments. They were nevertheless lethal.

" Is it true?..Is she a lesbian?"

"Poor girl, God is so unfair, such beautiful girl..and..see..is she a chhakka?"

This was the result when she had high fever at the first year of her MBBS. Seniors were ragging the new comers.. new students were forced to watch po*n movies..Khushwant couldn't tolerate it for more than 2 minutes after the po*n started on the screen. She started to vomit, later she had 103 degree fever. And conveniently she was declared as an impotent among the students. Although the gossip became silent by the passing time, but the damage was already done. She obtained a mental block about man-woman relationship by then.

When Samrat came into her life, the mental block was still there. However, things turned into worse.

Bina was looking at her daughter, she was sleeping and heavily perspiring.

"Khushwant..wake up..you are having a bad dream..come on..wake up.."

"What is it Khushwant? What is disturbing you so much?"..Bina asked when Khushwant came out of the bathroom after getting freshen up.

Khushi started to read the newspaper.

" Who is that man Khushwant, I am asking you.."

"Arnav Singh Randhawa.."

Bina was numb, dumbstruck and shocked to her core.

" He is in love with me, that is what he says..he wants to marry me.."

" Shut up..if your father hears this he will kill you.."

" I know, that is why I am not giving Arnav any lift, we have already a burden of Arnav's mother's murder, we can spare Arnav..I know Dad would have killed him , that is why I didn't tell whom I was with that night."

"Sir, Mr. Samrat Zakhad wants to meet you.."

Arnav was surprised a bit, said ," Send him in.."

Samrat looked lost and unwell.

" What brings you here Mr. Zakhad..?", Arnav asked after ordering cold drink for both of them.

" Stop bothering Khushwant..she is mine.."

" She told you that she is yours?"

" I know, nobody have to tell me.."

" Yeah..but you see, I have made up my mind.."

" You are inviting a trouble for you, as far I know Mr. Randhawa, you are not a saint, you love to have good women in your bed.."

" Then I must correct you, if you are referring to that night, I believe Khushwant had told you, that is why you know, but let me clarify that I am not a regular brothel goer or a regular ..I was very disturbed, I got to know about you and Khushwant ..I don't even need to explain this...that was an instant reaction.."

Samrat remained silent for sometimes.

" Mr. Randhawa..I have no personal animosity against you, what I am saying is for your own good..can't you see, we were lovers..we .."

" That was past Mr. Zakhad..she left you long ago, that is why you left the country as far I know..and you must let it go, it is making happy nobody..if she had a single bit of feeling for you, then that night she wouldn't have come with me.."

" You know very well that she doesn't love you.."

" Well, she will fall in love with me..let me ask you one question..does she love you either?"

" Mr. Randhawa..whom are you fooling?"

" Nobody, the same question can be asked to you..whom are you fooling?"

" Okay..I know it is not appropriate..but I have to do it..she is not woman enough.."

"Mr. Zakhad..do not go so far..you are testing my patience..don't force me to throw you out of this office..I do not want to humiliate you..I know once you were involved with her..I have nothing against that..it happens in life..but that does not mean you will stoop so low..you are demeaning her.."

" Truth hurts..it is fact..she is not woman enough..she used to be called as chhakka in her college days.."

" Really? Then why did you go after her? "

" I came to know..when ..you are intelligent enough..I can't tell you more. I accepted this as my fate..I thought with time her problem will be fixed..but..and then..there were some other issues, I got involved with some other girl..that ending was more pathetic.."

" Sit properly..tell me..what happened ?"

After a difficult hour, Samrat stopped, he made his private life totally naked in front of Arnav Singh Randhawa..Arnav looked at him intently. Samrat looked completely broken.

" This is one truth of my life Mr. Randhawa, it took me so long to accept.."

" Why , I mean..you want to be in this relation?"

" Well..she has been a habit to me..I have been so used to her company..I cannot explain..everywhere I go..I cannot forget her..".

Arnav stretched his neck and hands..and said ," Big bull shit..the reason is totally different..what..that I do not know, I have no wish to find that also..but I know, nothing that much platonic about your feelings.."

" Mr. Randhawa..please, you will get anyone you want..just..stop chasing her.."

" You see..I have made up my mind..you can go now..you want to remain as her friend..okay..but I have made up my mind.."

" In spite of knowing about her flaws..that she is not woman enough?"

"Good bye..I will send my marriage card to you..I wish to see you there.."

" May I come in Doctor?"

Khushwant looked up, Arnav was at the door. She didn't speak a word. Arnav came in and sat on the chair.

" Tell me..what is your problem..?"

" Chest pain.."

" Lay down..need to check you.."

Khushi pressed the stethoscope against his chest..

" Take deep breath..for how many days it's paining..?"

" After seeing you it started to pain..still paining until you say yes.."

Her face got darken, " I can't give you what you want..trust me.."

" Samrat said the same thing, yesterday.."

Khushi felt a thunderbolt in her brain.

" I want to know from you..was he saying the truth..?"

"Yes.."

" Then how did you two...I mean.."

" Everytime..he tried..but..at the end it was nothing.."

" How is that possible?"

" I have a mental block..I am mentally impotent..I get my periods on time..but..that's all..I tried with Samrat..but..I am still a virgin..and..I had to take hormone injections every time, before I used to meet him.."

" Is this the reason that you and he broke up?"

" No..I was under treatment, I thought..things will be fine..Samrat and I broke up..the reason was totally different..but it is a fact that..I am not woman enough..I stopped that treatment after we broke up.."

Arnav got up from the medical bed..they were still behind the curtain. Khushwant took off her apron, her kurti..then her bra, it was padded. Arnav looked at her breast, they were very small. His teeth marks were still there, they were now violet in colour.

" My body is not fulfilled..you will not get any physical satisfaction from me..evidently, I am infertile.."

Arnav pulled the string of her salwar, it fell on her ankles. Arnav passed his hands in her panty, rubbed there for sometimes. Khushwant remained indifferent to his touch, she was immune.

" We should put on our clothes back..it seems.."..Khushwant said in a cold tone.

" I am sorry..for everything.."

" I don't understand.."

" First..I slept with another woman..then I tortured you that day..for everything.."

" You are not my unfaithful husband..Mr. Ranadhawa..for the first reason, you don't need to appologise.."

" I heard many things about you and Samrat, that is why I lost my calm..don't think that your virginity has changed my mind..you are a virgin or not..it was never a concern to me..but..I feel sorry for you..over the years..what have you being through..that is really horrible.."

" You are being very kind..but I don't need this.."

" You have stopped your hormone therapy..that is good..you don't need that.."

" Are you a Doctor?"

" Listen to me..you have a mental block..nothing else...you need a support..and you never tried to get pregnant..then how can you say that you are infertile? Meeting a guy for some hours and cohabiting with a man for 24/7 is different..an intimacy out of strong feeling can change many thing..if not after marriage..then after having a baby..trust me..just give yourself a chance.."

" You are blind..because you are in love with me..you are not thinking practical.."

" So..you admit that I am in love with you?"

" That is not the point..you may want to play with your life..but being a Doctor..and knowing fully about myself..I cannot do this to you..I am not woman enough.."

" It takes a strong man to take the real woman out of her..I am strong enough for that.."..Arnav said and kissed her deeply.
