OMG...this story will NOT leave my head...getting tired of thinking about it...lol

So this is my 3rd post but I had to say that now I am looking at the angle of how Arnab and Khushi came to be married. Not sure how old he was when it happened because we did not have too much detail but it seems he was engaged to her sister who died and I guess Khushi was substitued but I am guessing he was young and in those days kids consent was not part of process.

So does he even feel married? Aside from his desire...he has no responsibility of being married...I know he cutely went to save her doll but he really has no responsibility nor say in anything to do with her. His mother and grandmother are in charge of her and he is like a bystander.

So he threatens his father that he will leave home as soon as he is able to...if he ever does that...what will he do about her?

Very interesting story Jenny😊...i liked all three parts...last part was disturing..even if he is right thinking of his wife as a child...but going out to fulfil his desires sounds disturbing...also it's not her mistake of being married to him at such young age...

This story transported me to another world! I visited Kolkata and Shantiniketan late last year and really enjoyed visiting some of those places that I had heard about for a long time. What struck me was the rich history that the area has! People were really nice and laid back. So it is easier for me because of my visit to visualize this little Khushi in your story in that area in 1922.

Teaser for chapter 4

December, 1923

"What's wrong with Khushi, these days?, Arnab mused as he relaxed in a chair on the terrace, shading his eyes against the brilliant sunshine with a folded copy of 'Anand Bazaar Patrika'. She seems unusually quiet these days, he thought with a frown. Earlier, she would deliberately seek him out atleast once everyday to ask all kinds of questions in an engagingly forthright manner, but now a days she seemed to be purposely avoiding him.

It was two days later when he discovered the gardener's daughter playing with Khushi's doll that intense remorse smote his heart and he set out in search of her.

Ooo! So khushi gave up her doll...she is quiet..!
What arnav said to her has effected her deep and now she is willing to do whatever it takes to be...his wife, whis woman!
