"yahi baat main aap se aur Sameer sir se kehna chaahthi hoom…..sahi kaun aur galat kaun sochthe sochthe waqt aur ek accha friendship kho na jaaye Sir!"

He didn't reply…neither did she want a reply from him….she went away closing the door behind her….

But she had left him in a deep thought…..perhaps she was right but there was nothing much he could do, or could he???

On the other side, she had made her decision…..yes the team and especially Arjun's words did have its impact on her……She was all set to talk to Sameer….

Days at ETF were no less that roller coaster rides…..it just whizzed past…..There were no shortage of criminals and so no less were the crimes in the city….If there was shortage, it was just time…

24 hours fell short for the ETF team…..their personal time and life took a back seat!

So Aisha confessing her feelings looked distant as of now….But she did look out for opportunities to let him know what she felt for him!

It was one of those busy days and they reached back ETF after the case was solved..

Sameer was in his cabin and Arjun in his as always….

Usually Sameer would leave office soon after they return from the investigation and he would come to the team to know if anyone needed a drop back home…..

And nowadays, Aisha always went along with him…..but today, Sameer didn't step out from his room…..

One by one, all except Aisha left…..

Aisha looked at her watch and then at his cabin…She waited for few more minutes and then slowly walked to his cabin…."may I come in Sir?"

He didn't reply…So she slowly stepped in…..Sameer sat with his head resting on the chair and his eyes were closed…

She rushed to his side…..Seeing his state, she impulsively put her palm on his forehead to check if he is alright……He had fever…..and that's why he was looking tired from morning….She had checked with him twice but he had brushed it off as nothing….

And now he was burning hot…..

Aisha ran to the medical kit and took the tablets for fever and rushed back to him….

Taking a glass of water, she shook him up….."Sameer, get up…..take this….."

Sameer woke up from his shallow nap and realized that he had been sleeping like that for about an hour now…..he replied as he took the water and the tablet in his hands

"thanks Aisha….patha nahi kaisa yeh bhukaar chadh gaya?"

Aisha: [a bit angry and it reflected her concern for him] hum mein se kisi ko bhulaa sakthe teh na?? how can you be so careless?

Sameer smiled at her anxiety and gulped the tablet in first…."mujhe laga aisa hi teek ho jaayega….socha kisi ko kyun pareshan karein? I mean, I know the entire team is exhausted after a long day….…."

His words stopped there and he saw her looking at him in a lightly accusing manner meaning that he was treating her also as a 3^rd person!….

She didn't respond to that…..she knew it was difficult or perhaps even impossible to get him forget all his formal ways! And yes, who was she right now..she hadn't said yes to him yet!

After a long moment, she spoke up "uttiye….I will drop you home"

He knew she was slightly pissed off at him and so he didn't protest to annoy her further….He followed her out of the office…

Soon they were driving home…..to be precise, his home…

She had suggested meeting a doctor but he refused saying that "kuch dher aaraam karunga toh subah tak teek ho jaavunga….just drop me home"

They reached his place…..Aisha also gets down tries to support him….he grins seeingher do that, "Aisha, mujhe bas thoda sa fever hai…"

Aisha: thoda sa nahi..you are having high temperature Sameer…..

They enter the house and unfortunately, the power isn't there…….So they enter the house in darkness!

Aisha: [as he opens the door, she enquires] torch ya candle kahaan rakha hai?

Sameer replies to her as he walks in and finds the sofa, he sits down feeling a bit dizzy, "Candle aur matches door ke paas hi shelf main hai Aisha…."

She takes the candle and lights it…….holding it, she walks into the house, into the living room where Sameer was already sitting….

In the candle light, her face looked angelic and she looked pretty or rather, her best features accentuated in that light……

Even in his dizzy state, he couldn't help gazing at her……She placed the candle on the table and sat down opposite to him…the candle flame swaying between them…..their eyes meet in the faint candle light…..It was a long moment and a part of them wished that it never ended!

She was about to say something when the lights came on……

Aisha switched onto something else "aapne dinner toh kiya nahi…and I know you wont have anything even now…so I suggest, aap ek glass gharam dhoodh peele"

Sameer nodded with a smile thinking "how well she understood what he would think, say or do"

Aisha thought for a moment and then added "I will get that….aap pe chodungi toh…."

She stopped midway and walked finding her way to the kitchen…….He instructed her as to where each thing was…milk was in the fridge and sugar on the kitchen counter…..

As she kept the milk to boil, he walked to his room……

She brought out a glass of milk while he came to the living room after changing to his white kurta and pyjamah….

Sitting back on his couch, he felt a unique sense of happiness and satisfaction seeing Aisha in his private sanctum and doing chores for him……It felt good….it felt nice to have someone close and special at home! He couldn't help wishing that this goodness continued forever…and her reply would be a yes whenever it came!!

Handing him the glass, she felt his forehead again….the tablet had done its job well….the fever had gone……may be his dizziness was due to the temperature coming down suddenly which made him sweat heavily! Now he felt a lot better…..

She took her hand away from his forehead but even then, he felt the feel of her fingers on him lingering there…..He shrugged away his crazy thoughts and brought his focus back to the present!

He took the glass from her…taking a sip, he voiced out "Thanks Aisha….thanks for being there!"

Aisha smiled back and replied instantly "What are friends for Sameer? Waise bhi friends ke beech thanks and sorry nahi hoti!"

Though he was reminded of Arjun, his close buddy at that moment, his naughty side peeped out as well…..he let a naughty chuckle and questioned,"sirf friends Aisha??"

Aisha didn't know why but instantly, a slight blush creeped up her cheeks ….She also felt that she should say it now….so long she had been waiting for the right moment and today, she had got such a moment, of course quite unexpected one……

She turned away from him…walking a few steps away, she spoke up slowly, "nahi…sirf friends nahi….usse bhi aage…."

Her words seemed to have lost in a soft whisper….he got up from his place and walked up to her and gently voiced "usse bhi aage….kya Aisha?"
