CHAPTER 3
She felt a weight of something on her waist, her brows creased in confusion as she didn't feel any hard surface below her but something soft. She was not feeling to wake up from this peaceful slumber. After so long she was sleeping so peacefully. The weight on her waist moved, sliding up a little and then she heard his soft breathing, felt his warm breath against her neck. Terrified, she leapt out of the bed, in process jerking him awake. She backed away till she was plastered against the wall beside the cupboard, staring at him with wide eyes as he sat up on the bed looking at her concerned.
Arrnav looked at her red tear-filled eyes are as she stared at him accusingly."Khushi ar..are you alright..??" he walked very slowly towards her looking at her trembling form.
Trying to push herself more into the hard wall she raised her hand to stop him"Don't come near me.." her voice trembled but the next words came out firmly " Stop right there!"
Arnav felt a piercing pain in his heart as he heard her and his feet, on their own glued to the floor."Why... Why you brought me inside..?? Why...??!! "she screamed. " You thought that I will sleep with you everynight because I slept with you once?? "
Too shocked to react arnav stood stunned. But she was not done and what she said next made him see red.
"I AM NOT A wh**e!!!" her scream sliced his heart.
Taking two long strides towards her, he hauled her against his chest, staring at her red face with raging eyes." Don't you dare.." his voice came out low but dangerous. "Don't you dare say that abou my wife! EVER!!"
For few seconds she just stared at him too shocked to see him like this.
_______
CRASH!!!
The sound of breaking something resounded in silent Shantivan, scaring all inhabitants of the house, jerking them on their feet running towards the direction of the sound.
CRASH!!!!!!
The Second one was heard by all of them merely a second later causing their heart to beat fast and their pace increased. All of them stopped at the living room, staring at a visibly trembling Arnav, standing amidst millions of broken pieces of glasses, blood pouring out of his hand, dripping on to the pristine White floor, a big puddle of red forming on it.
But Arnav was unaware about it all. He was not feeling any kind of pain on his hand, but his heart was screaming in pain, was bleeding constantly and there was no relief from it.
I AM NOT A wh**e!!!
Again and Again and Again her words were resonating in ears, slicing his heart brutally, making it bleed. He moved forward to garb something and to smash it on the floor just like other things.
He moved his upward, ready to smash his favorite vase but was stopped by Akash. "Bhai ! What are you doing! Stop!" Akash tried to take the vase from his steel like grip.
"Get away Akash." His was voice low and held warning.
"Bhai, look what have you done! You have hurt yourself! Your hand is bleeding! Stop it bhai! " Akash, confused but concerned didn't budge and continued to take the vase from his hand.
"I said Back OFFF!" With a roar, Arnav gave a mighty Push to Akash who stumbled back with the force of it.
Anjali stared at his brother horrified. What is happening?
Arnav, ready to smash the vase, stopped as he heard her. He turned, and saw her running towards him bare feet. Dropping the vase, he immediately shouted, "Stop! Khushi! Don't come here!"
But she didn't instead her pace increased his wounded hand, blood dripping from it. She ran towards him, not caring about the broken pieces of glasses piercing the soles of her feet, making it bleed.
"Khushi!!" Arnav, stared horrified as thousands of sharp broken pieces of glasses pierced her skin. He ran and scooped her in his arms. Taking her to the dining table, he placed her on the chair. Kneeling down he grabbed her foot, his heart hurting at the sight of her slashed skin of her foot. "HP! HP! Bring Cold water NOW!!"
Khushi pulled his hand up, inspecting the cut of his hand, Not meeting his eyes, just crying looking at deep cut. "Are you out your mind? What were you doing?" Her voice was horse, from the amount crying she had done back in the room and now looking at his wounded hand and the state at which she had found him standing in the living, which was a mess with broken pieces scattered all over the place, when she had ran downstairs hearing the loud crashing sound.
"Me? I am out of my mind or you? Who run over the broken pieces bare feet? I told you to not come there, but you listened? NO!" Arnav fumed.
"You..your hand was bleeding."
"So what? You should have let it be."
Hariprakash came with the bowl of cold water with the bottle of antiseptic and cotton. Arnav carefully stared plucking out the glass pieces when she stopped him. "Your hand!"
He glared at her, warning her with his eyes to just shut up and sit. After he tended to her feet, he was about to leave, when she stopped him by grabbing his wrist.
Khushi cleaned his wound and tended to it. All the while arnav stared at her pained face. Family members were nothing but confused. What had happened here just now?
Ignoring others, as if they were alone all this time, Arnav scooped her up in his arms and marched upwards to their room. He placed her on the bed, "Don't you dare move from here for coming days. You will stay in bed till your wounds are healed."
Khushi turned her face away from him, not wanting to look at him. With a resigned sigh, arnav left to poolside, his mind losing its control, not knowing how to make her believe in his love, that he does not want her body but her heart. He has already hurt her many times and now also because of him she is hurt. But after this incident one thing is clear, that whatever may happen, she will always be concerned for him. He already knew that she has feelings for him. It was clear; else she would never let him make love to her. But today, as he saw her running towards him, her face pained, not caring about the path filled with sharp pieces of glasses, that she may also love him, like he loves her.
He has to think with a clear mind. He cannot lose his temper like that. It will do nothing good. It's natural for her to react like that. He can't expect her to be okay with all the sudden changes in him after he had treated her so badly, insulted her, abused her physically, and gave her scare on her arms. And this six months marriage contract. First he will clear to her that this marriage will not end in six months that it will never end. They both will be Husband and wife for eternity. This will be the first to make her feel secured, to make her aware of the place she now held in this house is for forever.
