Sharon was looking at Swayam, a smile playing on her lips.. though not really prominent, but internally she knew she was smiling at him. Why? She didn't know.

"Sharon? My book?" Someone said enough to disrupt the continuity of her thoughts.

She looked at the source of the voice only to find a questioning Kriya looking at her.

"Yes?"

"My book Sharon!" Kriya reminded her.

"Yeah.. Here you go.." She handed Kriya the book.

"Thanks." Kriya seemed to be in a hurry, but sensed something wrong with her.

"Are you okay Sharon?" She asked a very confused Sharon.

"Yeah! I'm fine!" Sharon put up a cheerful face.

"Okay then! Bye!" Kriya said and walked off from there.

She stood there noticing him. He was wet due to sweat. Although she was well aware of the fact that he was teaching Aashi and she was supposed to be going home then, she stood there staring at him. There was something totally wrong with her. Swayam used to talk to her whole day, chat with her, text with her, share his opinions with her, but she was like, just couldnt get enough of him. From two-three days this was happening. And it was gross, for her. She knew she liked him as a friend.

Her phone rang at that very moment, pulling her out of her Swayam staring zone.

It was Rahul. She had to pick up his call. She couldnt possibly run away from him.

Yes Rahul?

At that very moment Swayam waved his hand at her. She waved back.

Are you ignoring me or is it only me who feels like that?

Im not ignoring you. I was stuck up somewhere.

Okay.. So just called you up to inform you about a party. At my place, tomorrow night okay? And you ought to come.

I cant come. She said in a fairly low tone.

Why?

I umm have a fest in college tomorrow. She noticed Swayam coming towards her and hence spoke the last few words hurriedly.

Fest? Rahul asked.

Yes. I need to prepare for it. Ill talk to you later. Bye.

And she hung him up without listening to his part.

What fest Ms. Rai Prakash? Even I want to know. Swayam stood in front of her and asked her sarcastically.

Shut up Swayam. No fest.

Then why did you lie to that guy/ girl whoever was on the line?

Umm Sharon began trying to think of an excuse.

No use lying Ms. Rai Prakash.

What do you want to know then? She asked.

Why did you lie to your friend.

Hes not my friend. Sharon said stressing on the last three words. And I need to go She added and prepared to walk away. She took a few steps and that was when Swayam held her hand tightly and pulled her into one of the classes.

She had to admit it. He pulled her into the classroom in a fit of something best known to him, but she liked it. The way he pulled her thrust into her a feeling of protectiveness. The way his hands were encircled around hers, she felt protected.

"Tell me now.. What happened?" Swayam began. She realized that he was in front of him and talking to him.

"Nothing..." She said.

"Tell me Sharon."

"Okay..." She said and moved backwards. She started pacing in the classroom.

"Rahul... is a friend of mine. He called me up and asked to come for a party at his place tomorrow. So I said no because I don't want to go." She said.

"And why don't you want to go?" Swayam sensed that something was wrong.

"Just like that." She said facing him now.

"Just like that?" Swayam twisted his face.

"Yeah." Sharon giggled. " Trust me."

"Whom are you kidding Sharon? Tell me the truth."

"Swayam... I'm telling you the truth." She said, turning back.

"No you aren't." He said deliberately going in front of her.

Sharon sighed. Why on earth was he pestering her so much?

"Okay fine. You want to know the truth?"

Swayam nodded like a five year old kid.

"This guy, Rahul and me have been friends for the past many years.. we know each other very well.. But the point is that, I like him.. I mean I don't know how to describe it in words.. But I feel I like him."

Why the apprehensions? She was clear about the fact that she liked him. But why did she add the word "feel" when she was already clear about her feelings? Sharon didn't have the answer.

She looked at Swayam and noticed that the stern look on his face had wilted away. His face had turned pale, which was not so clearly visible, but nevertheless she knew it.

"What happened?" She asked him.

"Nothing. So only this much na?" He asked her.

"That's not sufficient. The problem is that he has a girlfriend."

"And so you don't want to go for the party because you think you'll feel bad on seeing him with his girlfriend?"

Sharon shamelessly nodded her head.

"That's so lame Sharon! Gosh!" He exclaimed. "You are going tomorrow and that's final."

Sharon's brow corrugated. "Who are you to say this?"

"Your friend and a sane person. That's no reason for you to miss a party Sharon. And trust me, you will surely not get over him until you learn to face him."

"What are you saying?"

"It's the truth. Trust me Sharon. I'll assure you that you would get over him very soon. I promise you."

"How can you say that?"

"Experience taught me that."

"Shut up Swayam." She said. "I don't think you liked anyone before!"

"I didn't Sharon.. but the same thing happened with a friend of mine. Anyway that's past. The point is that you are going tomorrow." He said stressing on the last few words.

"No Swayam..." She shook her head.

"I'll come with you." He put his hand on hers.

Sharon forgot what she was going to say. She stood there still for a moment and analyzed what he had just said. Oh god. She had actually decided to say yes to Swayam about the party and then not go for it. Yeah, she had planned to lie.

She sighed. She had to give in. There was no way her plan of action was going to work. Her brain had stopped working. Although not fully convinced, she realized that what he was saying was true up to some extent.

"Fine." She gave in. "You can come with me."
