Arjun: [consoling her...the last thing he wanted was to get her tensed and worried...he knew she was strong and he wanted her to remain the same] don't worry...tum ab safe ho...tumhe ya tumaare promise ko hum kuch nahi hone denge Sakshi...ETF tumaare saat hai! Tumaare papa ke sacrifice ko hum kabhi waste nahi hone denge...[looked at her assuring her and comforting her...their eyes lock for a long moment where words just cease to come out...yet the feeling was soothing!...he snapped out and added]

Ab tum jaakhe aaraam karo...

She looked at him with gratitude...She couldn't thank him for those consoling words...Now she had one more person whom she could trust completely...someone who wouldn't betray her no matter what!

She saw him opening the door and getting out shutting the door behind him...After all that emotional pouring out, her memories and the wounds had become afresh now...She couldn't sleep either...She walked out of the door...she saw him stand at the left most corner and he was busy in a call...She didn't go to that side but went to the other side of the corridor...

She stood there trying to calm herself and bury all the triggered off memories back to where they were...hush them to the deepest hidden corner of her...The last thing she wanted was this outpour but he had got it all out of her...Her emotions and tears came before him...

Meanwhile he finished his calls and turned around to the room and he saw her standing on the right extreme...he knew that she needed her time and space but still he didn't want her to stress herself too much...he waited for a few more minutes before walking to her side...

"jitna zyaadha sochogi utna hi dard hoga...aaj raat sab kuch bhool jaao aur so jaao..."

His sudden voice shook her up and she looked at him...yes, perhaps he was right...The more she thought about her past, the more it would hurt her...

She nodded and walked back to the room...He waited till she got in and then followed her...

She walked a few steps into the room and looked around and saw that it was just a single bed in the room...An old sofa lay at the far end, all abandoned...and looked like he has never used it!

He exactly knew what she was thinking when he saw her scan around the room...He voiced, "tum bed pe so jaao..."

She turned around to him refusing ,"nahi Arjun..."

Before she could continue, he snapped her holding up his hand asking her to stop and pointed to the bed..."jaao...jaake aaraam se so jaao..."

She couldn't argue further as his voice was more than commanding...it was like an ultimatum and she couldn't argue further or rather she was too tired to argue...She walked to the bed...

Without any more delay, she just climbed into it and lay down curling up her legs and facing the opposite side away from where he stood...

The dress wasn't long...in fact it was a bit short and it crept up a bit more when she lay down...so she had a tough time covering herself fully...

She was always used to wearing tracks or pyjamas while sleeping...this one was making her uncomfortable especially, with another person in the same room...

She kept pushing it down as much as possible...and even then, she felt as if her legs weren't covered...She hissed and sighed in frustration!

As she continued to do it, she felt a blanket on her...She was a bit surprised and looked to the side from where it came...

Before she realized what happened, he had already covered her up and walked away without a word...

She smiled at his sweet gesture and turned to that side pulling up the blanket till her neck...

A few minutes before, as he freshened up and came out of the restroom, he noticed her awkwardness...her sighs and hisses grabbed his attention to her side...In one glance, he understood what her problem was and walked to his cupboard...

Pulling out a blanket from there, he came to her and spread it on to her covering her to make her feel comfortable...

She kept looking at him as he walked to the sofa and slumped onto it as if fully exhausted...

Yes indeed he was drained out from the day's ordeals and the Sakshi's emotional outpour had only added to his worn out feeling!

She felt a little bad of having taken away his bed and caused him discomfort but she knew she couldn't do anything to help him!

As he leaned back on the seat rest and closed his eyes, he felt her gaze on her...He looked to her direction to see her gazing at him...

He rose up a bit from the slanting posture and voiced, "Kya?"

She snapped out and muttered, "thank you"

The words weren't audible to him but he understood what she said...

He didn't reply but just sank back with his hand placed on his forehead as if to force his eyes to close...But his eyes refused to shut...

She could see that he was in deep thoughts and also his eyes which stared at the roof...perhaps, he was thinking about Roshni...yeah, she knew that he never slept during the nights...All she could do now was to sympathize with him! Fate had indeed played a cruel game with him...

She took in his worried form in her eyes and mind once...she let out a deep sigh before her eyes lids closed as she drifted into a deep slumber!

Next few days were going to be tough...real tough...and hard times ahead for both of them...But she thrashed all those thoughts and just tried to sleep peacefully...It was after so many days that she slept calmly today...

His presence gave her a unique peace and a renewed strength...a new confidence sprung within her that she wasn't going to lose this battle!

Meanwhile, his state was a little different...her story had made him angry... Angry on all those who had caused such havoc in her life...and killed an honest, innocent man who only wished to do something good for our country...

His blood boiled thinking about all that...That had totally caught fire in his head now...He couldn't rest till he gets all of them behind bars or nail them down somehow and bring justice to Sakshi's dad!

He indeed was a great man with great ideals who lived his entire life for the nation and also died for it! He was no less than a soldier who gets killed safeguarding the country! Arjun admired the man for all the sacrifices he made! He had sacrificed his family life totally expecting nothing in return but all he got in return was a label that he was a traitor, and of course a cruel brutal death!

He sympathized with Sakshi...the poor girl had endured a lot of pain with none to support! She kind of lost both her parents...She lost her father to death and her mother too had left her in a way...

Witnessing her father getting killed brutally and yet not able to do anything would have been horrible...He could empathize with her...He had gone through the same helplessness as well!...

Roshni's death flashed across him when she had narrated it...He could feel Sakshi's pain and agony!

Arjun's respect and admiration for her had multiplied n folds now...

Behind that bubbly face and sweet smiles, she had a lot of pain hidden...The mask of happiness she always wore was so hard to tear apart...Not even the super cop in him was able to get to her real face...He could have never ever imagined such a past for a girl like Sakshi..

Yes, he knew that there was something more to her which she preferred to keep in the dark but he never expected something as horrid as this!

He had made his firm decision already to help her in all situations...He along with ETF would surely nail down the criminals and get justice for her father...He would help her fulfil her promise to her father!

That was a promise he made to himself!

An hour before, Arjun had updated Rathod on what he knew about Sakshi after ensuring that all of this is kept highly confidential...None in the team nor up above the ladder should know it right now...

Arjun strongly felt that there was a black sheep even in the department who was above all of them...At this moment, none could be trusted in this matter and Arjun couldn't afford to take any risk!

After Rathod, he also spoke to Shree...Shree updates him with the details from the crime scene...

Shree: Sir, Nikhil ke phone pe dho teen din se khaafi saare missed calls aaye hai...woh saare numbers trace karne ke khoshish kar raha hoom...

Arjun: ok...aur kuch milaa?

Shree: Ghar mein khaafi jagah pe khoon ke traces miley hai...samples collect karke test keliye bheja hai...body pe khaafi saare wounds hai...aisa lag raha hai ke Nikhil ko bohat torture kiya hai...

Arjun nodded...he already knew that...he just went to the next, "mauth ki wajeh woh goli hi hai na??"

Shree: dekhne mein aisa hi lag raha hai sir...par autopsy ke baadh hi confirm kar sakthe hai...Liza is already on it Sir"

Arjun nodded, "hmmm...aur kuch?"

Shree spoke up as if remembering something important, "sir...ek aur ajeeb baat hai...Living room ke couch pe ek soft toy...i mean ek puppy tha..."

Arjun: toh? Iss mein ajeeb kya hai?

Shree: uss toy ke kaan pe ek micro chip hai jo voice recording kar saktha hai...it was switched on sir...Nikhil ne shaayad on kiya tha...uss toy pe bhi khoon hai...aur uss mein kuch record hua hai par ab playback clear nahi hai...main usse ETF office le jaake amplify karke decode karne ki khoshish kartha hoom...

Arjun: yeah do that...aur jaisa hi kuch patha chaley mujhe call karna...

Shree: yes sir!

Before Arjun could cut the call, Shree voiced slowly making Arjun hang on, "Arjun sir..."

Arjun: haan bolo...

Shree: Sakshi ab kaisi hai?

Shree was worried seeing that crying, screaming, vulnerable side of Sakshi at the crime scene...He was hell shocked seeing her react like that! He too didnt expect such a weak side to her...

Arjun: [understanding his concern] woh teek hai...dont worry!

Shree nods...and then cuts the call!
